yesterday's the final match was "something new" it's clear that it was a sort of passing of the "baton" between the two Wink players ... Alcaraz is now solidly number 1 in the world and has demonstrated to be able to beat anyone.

Djokovic remains a very strong player, who made history, unfortunately I think age has the effect Sad

Yeah, I think it's clear by now, Djokovic is the only one remaining of the big 4 and we have seen that he continue to dominates even without his rivals. But now a new player has taken notice in the last 2 years.

Although when I watch the game, I thought that Djokovic is going to win. However, the 2nd was the key for the young Alcaraz as he was able to get back and gather momentum. He could really be the new Rafa Nadal.

What I'm curious to see now is if there's anybody else that can even challenge them anymore. Medvedev should be able to do on hard, at least in theory.

On Wimbledon both Đoković and Alcaraz lost only 2 sets until the final, on RG they lost 1 set each before their semifinal duel and the winner (Đoković) won in straight sets against Ruud in the final.
On Australian Open Đoković lost only 1 set, Alcaraz did not play due to injury.

This just shows how dominant they are, and how even more dominant Alcaraz will be when Novak retires.

It was a very interesting match, easy first win for Djokovic, Alcaraz comes back to win the
next 2 sets with a 19 minute game thrown into the mix, Djokovic comes back to take the
fourth to go the full distance, just like a true champion.

Djokovic REALLY wanted this one for many reasons, its all about records at this stage for him,
and he let his frustrations and emotions out.

Really great win from Alcaraz, winners mentality to never give up until its over.
This was a great miss for Djokovic. The win is marked as the beginning of new era.
Since 2002 it is the first time the winner of Wimbledon is other than Federer, Nadal,
Murray and Djokovic. 7 times Wimbledon title winner have fallen to the young one.
If this had been won by Djokovic he could've levelled the record with Federer winning
8 titles. Till the last moment the match went as a thriller and the service were at the
bullet speed from both.
20 years old Spaniard done impressive job and change the tennis era with first person who win this big title and now having good chance for the staying at the top for long time because there is no serious contender in front of him if he has no serious injury things could be much better for his rule on tennis in future.

I was not expecting to win like this for him because Djokovic is surely GOAT at Wimbledon but in this final game he has done a good number of mistakes which bring his rule here after first two sets there were expectations he will end this all in four sets but this time Alcaraz was on his best and fight back with bang which helps him for having his first Wimbledon title.

Look like Serbian was tired as he has too many mistakes which allow his opponent to have better result even today he was going to have good chance for bringing himself to the level of Roger Federer, but now we have to wait for the another year.

We're entering a new era in tennis. Alcaraz has become a groundbreaker in tennis. I applaud his recovery, especially after losing the first set. He's only 20 years old and he showed the world what he can do.

Djokovic had a very big goal and he couldn't withstand the pressure of the size of that goal. I didn't expect that. As time goes by, fitness becomes more important. We saw that in the mistakes made at some points. Congratulations to the new champion.

It's incredible that Alcaraz won this game, and it's also important that he won after losing the first set. Beating a legend like Djokovic in the final is a huge achievement. It looks like we're going to talk more about this kid now.
Djokovic will win a few more titles before ending his career. However, after he retires, tennis will be left to these young talents. A great achievement indeed, congratulations again.
Of course, a period will end and Djokovic is getting there but I'm sure it will not happen in the near future, 2-3 years he will still be able to play at his highest level, and the biggest capital he has is his fitness which doesn't show that he has an age gap away from the young players.
Apart from the 30-year generation, only two players have so far managed to beat Djokovic in the Grand Slam finals Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz and this is proof that he is still the best because other young players have no way of bringing down the Serb.

The next Grand Slam is the US Open, don't know if Djokovic will get a visa to enter the United States, if he can't compete there then Alcaraz will certainly be quite easy to defend his title there, Daniil Medvedev will definitely be the strongest competitor there because he really loves hard courts, but it looks like for now only injuries can hinder Alcaraz.

Alcaraz is simply too good for everybody else. When Đoković retires, he'll basically be a favorite in every Grand Slam he'll play for the foreseeable future.

I think he'll win against Đoković - he looked a lot more comfortable today.

Awesome victory indeed for Alcaraz and you're right , when Djoko retires , Alcaraz will have free run towards most of the grand slams per year and that is frighting as he is only 20 years old. I won't lie as I thought Djoko will win after 1st set but Alcaraz was just warming up like he did in previous games and from there , Djoko was on a back foot but still gave everything.
Even at this age he had did the best of his ability. Till the last moment it is predicted that Djokovic will win the match. During the last set Djokovic lost serve which is completely unexpected. From there Alcaraz was very clear not to make any mistakes. As said when Djokovic retires Alcaraz will take the position, however it is really hard to stay long as a champion in a sports like tennis. Djokovic have maintained his health and doesn't went into injuries for a long. If Alcaraz stay active till 35 surely he'll beat most of the records made by the legendary players.

Age won't seem to matter between these two as it was on display during their two previous meetings.
There is a 16 year difference but when it comes to tennis, it won't matter since experience is the determining factor as the player can recuperate after every set and come out stronger after gathering their senses to power through to the next set.
Remember Carlos cramped up during the Miami tournament and lost to Sinner of course that was on hard court then he had to withdraw from the French Open earlier this season from the very same symptoms.

For myself, I will go with the tested and true game play of Novak Djokovic to win this Wimbledon in a set of five since Alcaraz will probably suffer the same fate as he did before if it does go the distance.
And many are imagining this matchup of the world's #1 and #2 will end up being. As this tournament's final will determine who will be #1 of the world.

Novak Djokovic and Alcaraz's match has concluded with a surprising twist. My expectations of a fiercely contested and captivating battle were not misguided. This showdown had all the ingredients for an enthralling spectacle. Ultimately, Álvarez Garfield emerged victorious. Although both players put up a strong fight in the fifth set, ultimately, there could only be one triumphant player in this fiercely competitive contest. Novak Djokovic has a chance, I thought after the first set. But Alcaraz Garfia, number one in the whole world, showed why there is a reason.

Djokovic missed a great opportunity to lead 2:0 in the sets and currently Alcaraz is leading 3:1 in the third set and is playing much better than Djokovic.
Djokovic makes a lot of mistakes on key points in the match, which is not typical for him and he doesn't look good.

I didn't expect this kind of match, I thought that Djokovic would be much more dominant in this match, but it seems that he got nervous and makes a lot of mistakes.

For a lot of people, it was totally unexpected. I'm sure millions of people were even in shock. Talented youngsters can be seen occasionally playing very good matches in ATP. They won championships in some qualifying tournaments, beat goat names, played very good matches, but their balloons would burst when they came to slams. With his 2nd slam, Alcaraz showed that he was not included in that group and stood at a different point. I hope we can watch the same performance for years without any injuries. He has an incredibly different technique, he is very young, even from the screen, you can sometimes feel the moments when his hand is shaking. A 20-year-old wimbledon champion who will enable the Spaniards to dominate another branch in sports for years. Djokovic is experienced but his energy is low for an athlete of his age. Experience was not enough. At this rate, he becomes a new Federer. What an accomplishment.

In most of his matches the first set will be lost and he makes a comeback to win the match. This time he won the first set in a much comfortable manner. The second set went to the tie breaker and it is a win for Alcaraz. Third set an easy win for Alcaraz. Finally Djokovic have made the fourth set a win for him. Deciding set is in progress and Djokovic have lost a serve and Alcaraz takes advantage which makes it a winning match for Alcaraz. The young blood have won against the experienced Djokovic and the points are 1-6 78-66 6-1 3-6 6-4.

Meanwhile, exactly the opposite happened: the Spaniard took the next two sets (7:6, 6:1) and now leading in the fourth set 1:0. Djokovic doesn't look that fresh and dominant as in the beginning of the match. Will he have enough energy and stamina to win this one? 35yo vs a 20yo very exciting to watch this duel!
Did you really question Djoković fitness? I don't think anyone can match the level of fitness Djoković is bringing to every single big tournaments in last 10 years. No big injuries, always 100% ready, doing yoga and what not every day.... I am sure Djoković will not give up and he will not run out of steam.

Only way for Alcaraz to win this is to play his absolutely best tennis all the way trough the end. And that gets really though against players like Djoković that will not give anything for free. I still think Alcaraz can win this even though he just lost 4th set quite easy.

It would have been a big bang in the tennis world if Eubanks really eliminated Medvedev in that game. All sports live upon such surprises as people want to see the small guy beat the big guy. This would have been the perfect plot in this match-up and damn it was so close. I believe what is so special about Christopher Eubanks is his age. There have been youngsters in the past who played amazing tennis and spread enthusiasm among the fans. Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Alcaraz and others, but here it was a 27-year old guy who out of a sudden played world class tennis. As if he woke up one morning and suddenly became a different player overnight.
Eubanks will become a tennis player with a million pride if he manages to beat Medvedev in that match and he can definitely make his own history as a tennis player.
It's true, surprises exist at every sporting event and Eubanks has been one of them.
Even though the match ended in disappointment, many tennis fans applauded Eubanks for his hard work so far.
Maybe in the future he can create even more spectacular surprises with his quite impressive tennis game.

I believe that Eubanks won't be able to repeat such a run, but who knows. A he has done it once, it is possible of course that he does it twice, but to me it seemed more like this run that a guy like him has once in a lifetime so late into his career.

The game between Alcaraz and Djokovic has so many weird moments. After the first set I thought that this game will be disappointing for all the tennis fans, but it turned out to be a great game with that one game going into deuce like 13 times. But now Alcaraz is in control.

WTF did I just see? Djokovic has demolished Alcaraz in the opening set 6:1! One way traffic baby! Alcaraz is leading now 1:0 in the second but frankly things are not going great for him.

That was kinda expected. Djokovic should win this match rather easily. He's not playing against Rafa or Roger anyway. Alcaraz is pretty inexperienced and Novak is still fit.
Alcaraz may get one set but that's all he can get today. Djokovic will win his 24th Grand Slam title.

Alcaraz is giving Djokovic every dose of his own medicine, and he is on the verge of the of taking the 3rd set in dominant fashion too!

EDIT: Set taken! Alcaraz is one set away from a Wimbledon title, he took the 3rd set 6 games to 1, I can remember the last time that happened to Djokovic, and here we are on centre court where he's never lost a game in 10 years, so many records on the line here, Vamos Alcaraz!
