Pakistan  is about to lose the match as they are still 56 runs behind and 4 wickets left. So only thing it is would interesting is that can they make more than 56 runs which will means that OZ has to bat in their second innings or will OZ wrap up by an innings and few runs to win this test match.

in Board most of appointments going on personal like and dislike which is killing its need some strong and professional management otherwise its going dead like Sri Lanka or Zimbabwe soon or later.
So are you telling that there are more talents in the domestic circle that are performing really well but not getting selected in the national team ?, if that is the case then nothing can help them, not sure whether it is even possible at this day and age, if they bias their selector based on likes and not on talents then there is no recovery unless the entire corrupt selectors gets sacked and a new team is appointed to select the team.

Watling scored his first double century and finally Archer was able to pick a wicket after bowling 42 overs  Shocked.

Three test matches ongoing at the same time and it is quite difficult to follow all of them. Anyone watching the NZ vs England match? That one turned out to be the most competitive out of the three. No one really expected New Zealand batsmen to put up such a huge score (615/9), with Mitchell Santner hitting a century. England needs to survive for another 105-110 overs to avoid an innings defeat.

New Zealand seems to be the only team outside the big three, who are preforming on a consistent basis. And this is despite losing some of their best players to other nations (Ben Stokes was born in NZ, but he plays for England). The decline of South African cricket and the player exodus from there may be indirectly benefiting teams such as New Zealand. I could see three players from that region in the playing XI of NZ (Bradley-John Watling, Colin de Grandhomme & Neil Wagner).

I'm expecting Australia to win the test match today as I can't see Pakistan surviving the whole day with just 7 wickets remaining. The middle order may put up some fight but I can't see them lasting all day against the fast attack of the Australian bowlers.
Today two matches will be over, India Bangladesh and Pakistan Australia and i am not expecting any magical performance from any of the players from Bangladesh or Pakistan to believe that they can extend the match, New Zealand England match is really interesting as New Zealand is scoring runs with ease and they have a lead of 78 runs and it is difficult to see a result in this match unless we see a batting collapse from England.

I do not think it is Pakistani team members have a problem, it is lack of coordination and team bonding. More exposure and more matche should solve this issue. They have good players who can perform well. Them as a unit is having performance and confidence issue.
The problem here is that for more than a decade the team is lacking in confidence and not performing as a team and it is a bit too long, when they have a miserable series there will be a complete change in the players and that continues, rather than building up a team and grooming the young players in the presence of veteran players they like to put the young players on their own and that is their biggest mistake.
Your point is valid but here in Pakistan biggest problem is if you have talent and you have no approach then surely its waste and if you have no talent or you are playing just for hobby and you have good approach then you will in circle for long time and in Board most of appointments going on personal like and dislike which is killing its need some strong and professional management otherwise its going dead like Sri Lanka or Zimbabwe soon or later.

In another match Pakistan is still trailing by 276 runs and they are facing an innings defeat and the players who performed in the warn up match could not do anything till now.

This is the dilemma of this cricket team. They will play good in the warm up matches but will fail to perform in the main matches. You move these players in different leagues and will see that each of them will perform well but when you make them play for the national team, they will fail miserable.

For each reform every one needs to be on the same page otherwise ICC would collapse, then we might witness another "Kerry Packer" coming from the dead and taking control of World cricket.
It is a possibility that we could see another parallel league starting up like Kerry Packer or the ICL even before the IPL but the ICC has the authority to ban the players playing those tournaments and will put pressure like they did but because there are many cricket leagues around the world for T20 it is a possibility but the ICC and the other cricket boards will kill them as they have complete control over the players as they will never play another international match if they go against them nor they will receive any pension, so none of the players will dare to go against the board.

^^ Team Ranking is not permanent for any team and this is based on existing financial system of ICC/Cricket Board. Every Team has international commitment to play against 5-6 different teams in every 2 years cycle or so. For each reform every one needs to be on the same page otherwise ICC would collapse, then we might witness another "Kerry Packer" coming from the dead and taking control of World cricket.

Group A : Top 5 ranking Teams + One team who tops the Group B

Group B : Rest of the Test playing Nations

That would mean (as per the official test ranking from the ICC):

Group A:

1. India
2. New Zealand
3. England
4. South Africa
5. Australia

Group B:
1. Sri Lanka
2. Pakistan
3. West Indies
4. Bangladesh
5. Afghanistan
6. Zimbabwe
7. Ireland

Here the problem is that South Africa was involved in some very one-sided test matches this year. So I don't think that this division will serve its purpose. And I don't know how can South Africa be ahead of Australia in the ICC ranking table.

Very low standard for a Test playing nation.

What low standard Royse? they dragged their defeat to 3rd day, its a big win IMO Grin at one time they were struggling at 13/4.

I think ICC should work on some kind of Plan so that they can divide all Test Nations into 2 groups for more competitive games.

Group A : Top 5 ranking Teams + One team who tops the Group B

Group B : Rest of the Test playing Nations

Can anyone confirm here the shortest test match in the history? I guess it will be the shortest one. I have no idea though.

This might help your query.

Honestly speaking I have only watched one ball from this entire match so far. Not sure who was betting and who was bowling but when I saw Bangladesh lost their 4th wicket then there were no real interest left to see the Mach and waste time lol

This entire Test series turned out to be really one sided and if the Bangladesh team keep showing this type of performance then I will say as a Test team they need a break.

Very low standard for a Test playing nation.
Cricket needs to be exciting and it's not their in this match.

LOL.. if we go by this criteria, then I am afraid that a number of teams may need to take break from test cricket. The ongoing match between Pakistan and Australia is an even more one-sided affair. Despite the increase in the number of test teams (to 12), there are only a few out there who can offer meaningful competition to England/India/Australia.

Test cricket is not meant for weak teams. Let them stick with T20.

If Bangladesh can bat well then definitely India would have to bat again and match would get end tomorrow. As now Bangladesh is behind by 97 runs and 5 wickets is remaining. Its going to be a exciting to see how quickly the match gets over now.

Only Mushfiqur Rahim is remaining among the recognized batsmen. Remaining are all tailenders. Taijul Islam now got out to Umesh Yadav. The play will resume tomorrow, with Bangladesh trailing by 89 runs. India just needs four more wicket to complete yet another innings victory at home. So by the first session tomorrow, we will be having a result.

I do not think Bangladesh will be able to survive today, wickets are falling at a regular interval. 4 down still trailing by 174 runs. I do not want this match be a one sided. The lack of experience player is one reason for such a bad performance.

Hmm... only 19 overs remaining now and I don't think that India will be able to take the remaining 6 wickets today. Now it is up to the spinners and it looks like Ashwin and Jadeja are not getting much support from the pitch. The partnership between Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehidy Hasan has added 42 runs in quick time. India needs to break this partnership.

Have anyone placed bet for Bangladesh? I guess Little Mouse didn't.
Will the match roll over next day? I guess it's not. Bangladesh have lost 4 wickets already and still trail by 186 runs. That's really a poor performance from Bangladesh. I can't guess a team who performed really well in the world cup can play such shit.
Can anyone confirm here the shortest test match in the history? I guess it will be the shortest one. I have no idea though.

Edit-
No hall of shame for Bangladesh, seems they got lucky because India batted way more. Otherwise it could be the shortest.

India is ranked as the numer one test team. Then why would anyone bet against India. Overall India has only lost 1 test match at home. No, it can become the shortest match in test cricket history. The shortest was only a 50 minutes match.

Ah very well, Bangladesh manage to get quick wickets after lunch. Now they are batting with loss of 2 wickets and behind 239 runs. jeez its just 2nd day and hope Bangladesh don't get all out today.....

But real competition is who gets to taste inning defeat first Bangladesh or Pakistan  Roll Eyes
