2nd Test between OZ and Pak have started and OZ after winning the toss have elected to bat and had lost 1st wicket quickly of Burn. Warner as usual is playing well and OZ are now 64/1. Pakistan is already 1-0 behind in this series and would like to win this to comeback.

Anyone watching NZ vs Eng ?
England won the toss and opt to bowl, some interesting selection from England side they are playing without any specialist spinner, guess we can witness Joe root is in action as part time bowler, other than that 5 Seamer in the squad.
New Zealand is playing well and now it is the turn of Latham as he scored a century and hopefully he will convert this to a big one and i wish someone could give him company on the other end a try to build a huge partnership in the mean time, rain has halted the match and i am going with New Zealand to win the match as they are always a threat in Test matches in their home country.

Point table : Heads up, this series is not part of World Test Championship. No points for winners in this series.
All series should be under the championships, why are they cherry picking.

Now we can say ICC going to do some restrictions about T20 Leagues which could be helpful and if these done with positive attitude then surely many small countries going to have benifit from them for test level courtries good those have some good and strong domestic system and countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan have serious security issues which are not helping them and just because of this they are not good enough but Afghanistan could be very good and better then Sri Lanka and Bangladesh if they suceeded to have good domestic system for growing players for this level.

Restricting T20 leagues will be a very stupid move and I hope the ICC will stay away from such measures. Earlier there were attempts to limit players to a maximum of 2 or 3 different leagues per year, but this step never realized due to the opposition from the payers. The players are benefiting from it in the form of increased salaries, and it will be unfair for the ICC to get involved.

And after a bit of struggle, now it looks as if the New Zealand innings has been stabilized. They are 123/2, and it marks a remarkable recovery from the score of 39/2. The partnership between Tom Latham and Ross Taylor is inching towards the century mark, and once again the most lethal English bowler (Jofra Archer) has failed to make an impression in this match.

All the bashing aside i think we all should cut some slack to Afghan players, Test format is tough and they need time to build their team. we shouldn't expect much in regards of competition as long as they are improving themselves, improvement comes with experience. they are still new so give them decade or so, i am sure they will come around same goes to Ireland.
It is really wonderful to see a new team coming up the ranks pretty fast and they were really a war torn country and they are having a cricket team is itself impressive, none of the teams were world beaters when they came to cricket and that is a good point and with time they will be able to develop young talents and ICC will be providing funds to improve their infrastructure and in the next ten years we will see a much improved team if they are able to continue the same progress.

As a result, talented players from the smaller boards such as South Africa, West Indies, Ireland and Pakistan started dumping their own associations to play for the big three teams (+ New Zealand). And a decade later, we are left with three major cricketing nations and 9 test playing minnows.
If the players find it attractive to migrate to other countries and if there is a less talent pool then they will find opportunities to play in the team, in the past Australia was dominating the sports and now England and India have risen their playing standards and so is the reason there is a competition and for any sport to become successful you need people spending money to watch the sport and if that is not happening how can they expect to get more payment.

Some of the West Indian players (Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell.etc) are among the most paid cricket players in the world. But the problem is that these players get most of their salaries from the T20 franchises and not from the cricket boards. In football also we can witness the same situation, but there international matches have lost all the relevance. It is the football clubs which reign supreme in football. Do we want such a situation with cricket as well? T20 format has given too much power to the franchises.

I think everyone here is disappointed by Afghanistan’s batting collapse, as all their batman played impatiently and got out quickly. West Indies should be able to wrap up this match tomorrow, unless Afghanistan tail order batman’s decides to offer some resistance. This match only highlights one thing that Afghanistan isn’t ready for test cricket, and they need to focus on building a strong team for this format.
The match will be over by morning session and i was not expecting anything as Afghanistan does have a weak batting line up and none of the players are consistent to score runs and that is the biggest disadvantage but they have good bowlers and they could change the match in any moment but for that to happen the batsman need to score some runs to have some competitive match.

53/1 followed by sweet collapse 109/7 , one need special talent to perform like that and Afghanistan is Champion in this regard. some how they forget its test match.
I was looking at the scoreboard and seeing a run out was baffling, they were playing like T20 i guess to loose all the wickets all of a sudden and i did not wage a bet as i was not sure about how West Indies will perform and the spinners Afghanistan had could trouble them if they make a score on the board and that did not happen in this match, the match they played against Bangladesh i was not expecting Afghanistan to win but the batsman score runs and the bowlers finished the job, unless they have some batsman clicking and scoring runs you cannot expect them to win.

I think Afghanistan's batsmen have an inherent problem of not giving time to themselves after coming in before they go for some shots. This maybe because they are pretty unfamiliar with this taste of Test Cricket. I think we should not judge them atleast until they have played 15-20 test matches as a team. Only then they would understand how playing test cricket against top nation is different from first class and what are the different strategies to win the game. I think it's good to see that they are developing a bit as a cricket playing nation and they just need one big shot to come in top-8

It was expected from Afghanistan, but still disappointing. Remember that this is a home match for the Afghans and the West Indies is not fielding a full strength squad. I used to believe that Afghanistan is one of the emerging teams in world cricket. But the results show that they are not yet ready to face the original test nations, at least in the test format.

Afghanistan is struggling in this match as they lost their sixth wicket and they just lead by 10 runs and there is no way to come back from this situation as no one is giving Javed Ahmadi any chance for recovery as all the batsman are hurrying to get back to the pavilion and this match is not going to last another session and Cornwall is ruthless as he is already picked 10 wickets in the match.

The Afghanistan has gotten good opening partnership between Ibrahim and javed but after ibrahim out the Afghanistan middle order batting line-up collapse and now they are 109/7 lead by 19 runs maybe they can give more 50 runs.

Afghanistan still trail by 35 runs and if they are able to score a good runs then they can win the match with the spinners they have and the pitch will help the spinners in the final two days, the only thing i am surprised is that Afghanistan only used four bowlers to ball and they are missing a bowler and not sure who is missing out or whether they filled the team with batsman.

I was hoping for another inning defeat in the World cricket with in one week but Windies team says NO.

Windies had a good chance to get a big lead and finished the game as quick as possible but they failed to do so. kept losing wickets after good start from one side, even holder gone now. let's see if they can reach 100 runs lead.

256/7  Lead is 73 runs ( Shamarh Brooks is lone warrior)
