Rain is effecting the matches of England and also for the  Nz. Today second session of SL vs NZ got washed out due to rain and SL is struggling as such as they are 124-6. They will steal at have to post 200 in order to have something for their bowlers to bowl at though outfield will now be quite slow due to rain so making runs would not be that easy .

Transparent underwear:

I saw this picture earlier, but did not realize that he wore transparent underwear. Its funny how people think that he will get banned for such a comical reason. Bumrah is one of the world's best bowlers currently and he won't get banned for such silly reasons.

Archer ripped the lower order batsman and got OZ all out quickly as they were 6 down only for 162 and lower order could also bat well for OZ. But Archer line and pace just could be withstanded by any of the OZ batsman and as a result they got out quickly. Now bigger quetsion is that like 1st test England bowled well in first innings, but can they manage to take a good lead to put pressure on OZ for 2nd innings.

He was always the X-factor in the England team and he is easily the best replacement for Anderson at the moment. This guy is seriously one heck of a bowler. England looks like it might take this one at the moment unless rain intervenes again.

AUS - 179 all out

Archer ripped through them, amazing bowling performance. AUS are up against it now, can England get a good 1st innings though, that’s the question.

No surprises there. I expected a score of less than 200, as during the first two tests Steve Smith had scored close to half of the Australian total. Astralia without Steve Smith is like India without Virat Kohli. For a while I thought that Warner was back in form and Oz may be able to make a decent total. But once Warner was gone, Australian lineup collapsed like a pack of cards.

Jasprit Bumrah may get a ban after posting a controversial pic using his Twitter account. Some of the users have commented that it was "indecent". The BCCI may take up this matter.

This is definitely not something that is expected from a national level player, who may be having millions of fans (including minors). If you remember, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were given bans for just using inappropriate (?) language in a TV show. I don't care whether he is the no.1 bowler or not. BCCI should give him a life ban.

I am really impressed with Jofra Archer with his pace and his ability to confuse the batsman with bouncers every now and then and as expected without Smith in the team the Australians are struggling to put runs on the board, Warner scored a half century but the team wants him to score big hundreds, but i am surprised to see a new face in the team Labuschagne who played really well, i am expecting England to take the lead in the first innings but i do not expect them to score beyond 300 runs.

Not sure if Smith would of made a difference as he's replacement Labuschagne played well like I thought he would as I said he was a good replacement for Smith. It was nice to see Warner finally make some runs but he couldn't go on to make that century which Australia really needed. The middle order let Australia down which is why they score what they did and also because of the amazing bowling performance by Archer, even with Smith playing I'm not sure if he could withstand the onslaught from Archer. Australia will need to bowl well if they have any chance in this match, I still don't understand why Strac isn't playing but I guess the selectors know something we don't.

If we honestly look at Ashwin's red ball career then he's a champion bowler in subcontinent but average in SENA countries. Having said that I was surprised too when I looked at today's playing XI, considering the fact that his record is very good in west Indies and if I am not wrong then he was the man of the series in his last tour.
Ashwin got 77 wickets from 893 overs against Australia while 60 wickets from 436 overs against West Indies. These are top 2 of his career in test. This shows how much successful he is against WI. Sunil Gavaskar as well talked about this issue of exclusion of Ashwin, even Sehwag criticized the decision.

In the last series against WI, he got 9 wickets.

In India, Ashwin got 234 wickets with an average of 22.69, in away matches, he got 108 wickets with an average of 31.40, he was successful in both home and away.

I don't think his red ball career is in danger. He will be picked on the upcoming series certainly.

Edit-
Rahane is showing his class, he is one of the best batsman for team India after Pujara. Anyway, 5th gone now. Pant and Rahane is fighting, hopefully the score will be more or close to 300.

I have a feeling that India is one bowler short in this match. Don't know if 4 bowlers can take 20 wickets or may be kohli will use hanuma vihari as a 5th bowler.
4 regular bowlers? This is really strange. I didn't notice, however Bihari will be the 5th but this is really a poor selection, why not a regular bowler.

Ashwin sitting out  Shocked

It really makes me sad that one of our finest and professional spinner is not being selected for the playing 11 especially when he has very good stats in Test format. I think it has been over a year since Ashwin played for India despite the bowling performance he has shown earlier when India needed someone to take wickets the most. Wonder if he will ever get a chance to play again. Sad

After this series India have couple of series at home, so I don't think Ashwin's red ball career is finished. He is still first choice in subcontinent.

Australia 146/5 as I type this, not great but we all know that England like to choke & get skittled out very quickly so maybe not terrible for Australia so far. I guess it depends how many more runs they can put on the board in this innings.

Rain again playing a big part in all matches and ruining all the fun. Not sure, What ICC can do in this case, but it's not a favorable situation for Test Championship or Test cricket.  Undecided

1. SL vs NZ day 1 wrapped up after only 36 overs.
2. Aus Vs Eng game already delayed and we saw only 4 over so far.
3. Ind Vs WI  Again rain can ruin all the fun, as of now all good.

PS : RIP

Finally the match resume between OZ and England. Not the good start that OZ would have anticipated as they have lost 2 quick wickets on a score of just 30 runs. But good thing for them is that Warner is on the crease and batting carefully to get back his much desired form in this test match as even Smith is out. Archer and broad are bowling at good pace and unsettling at the batsman at times.

This match between Aussie and England look like the photocopy of the 2nd test.  Wink
Aussie struggling but rain and bad light helping them in some way. They will somehow will be able to make around 300 runs ,although losing wckets quickly and then England will again become under pressure. Also i think this test match is also the one where the third team is the RAIN.

BTW, I was surprised with the Australian fightback today. Right now, they are cruising along pretty well, on 136/3. I expected them to go down meekly, in the absence of Steve Smith. However, Warner regained his form unexpectedly and scored a half-century. Marnus Labuschagne gave him good support and as of now he is just 2 runs away from a fifty.

Almost everybody were taking Windies bowling line-up lighly in this board. to name a few Royse, Haunebu, Indy, Little mouse etc etc  Grin
I am a bit surprised by the manner in which Pujara and the others got out, but this is still a test match and there is a long way to go before deciding on who the winner will be. Am still confident in the Indian batsmen and bowlers and I am still expecting an easy win.
I like how Roach got Pujara's wicket, it was good setup. Kohli was looking in good touch but Gabriel outplayed him. For me too India is still fav. because this pitch is not deadly for Batsmen, they just need to spend some time and move forward according to session.

But i can't deny that Indian Top order lost the first battle against the seam bowlers.

Just checked the score and already they are three wickets down? Virat also gone for 9, Pujara 2, Agarwal 9...Now only hope is Pant and Jadeja. Looks like the first innings will end for 150 runs or less today and we may see WI chasing them down too. WI did good choosing to field first.
Pant and Jadeja? If Rahane and KL Rahul got out, rest of the player will not be able to get 100 nore run to the score unless miracle happen. I don't know much about Hanuma Biahri though.

If the situation demands, Hanuma Vihari can set up a tent on the pitch. He's good batsman according to Test standards. IMHO India could touch 250 runs even from this stage. Windies fast bowlers are good, but they can't bowl 90 over quota alone, that's where Indian middle and Lower order should play sensibly, windies spinners and part-timers are not that effective as their fast bowlers are.

Indians need to watch out short spell of fast bowlers.

Jadeja, with batting, is more suitable for one day and t20, for test, I don't think he is a good batsman.

Don't take Sir Jadeja lightly  Grin, his average is around 32 in the Test match with 1 Century. pretty good numbers for No-8 Batsman.

I trust Jadeja in case Rahul or Pant fail and even Ashwin can bat well but more I trust Jadeja as he can make quick runs which are needed currently. They need atleast a 150 partnership if they want to score 200+ runs.
Rahul is doing good job, seems to have a longer innings today. Unless this partnership go longer, the hope for big score is nearly zero. Jadeja can have some faster score but that will not be longer.

Most believed that Warner should be replaced but today he seems to be in full form with the bat. Harris lost his wicket early on and now he and Las are building the crucial partnership.
Underestimating a lion like Warner is laughable in my opinion. This man and Smith comprise of 60% of the Australian batsmen in my eyes and they will probably never be replaced until they retire.
