We should see some decent change in the next week, depending on the NZ vs AUS contest. India could remain in 2nd spot even if they lose the last test against England. However, they need match points desperately because they had to share points with the Windies (That draw might hurt) and they are also playing against Australia in an away series.

I feel that every team would be hoping for India to be in the top 2 because of their tendency to choke in the finals these days. New Zealand and Australia are circling around them like vultures currently.

On the other hand, England seem like they are pretty much out of the race at this point thanks to their consecutive losses recently.

When Virat Kohli and other players were missing in this series against England, we had a bit of a feeling that maybe India would appreciate the absence of Virat Kohli better against England. Team India understood the absence of Virat Kohli well in the first match but in the three matches after that I don't think Team India understood the absence of Virat Kohli. The batsmen batted with a lot of responsibility and brought the team to a respectable position in each innings which allowed the bowlers to bowl confidently in the second innings. As the batsmen capitalized well, the bowlers bowled well due to which team India won the series with a good combination of batting and bowling.

Every player in India performed brilliantly. Be it in the U19 team or the national team. Batsmen and bowlers in India are performing very well. Due to this, Indian team never depends on one player or two players. If we talk about Bangladesh, there are some special players. Like Tamim Iqbal Shakib Al Hasan, if such players do not play in the national team, then it can be understood that the condition of the team is very bad. But India is a country where every player performs very well. So Team India does not depend on any one player, every player has performed brilliantly. India is performing very well against England so it is expected that India will win the fifth test match against England. Because England's batsmen and bowlers are not performing well against India. So the chances of India winning the fifth test match will be high

Ireland is in a rebuilding phase, but I haven't seen much improvement from them over the last 3-4 years. The golden generation is gone, which included players like Tim Murtagh, Boyd Rankin, Ed Joyce and Niall O'Brien. Now the responsibility has been transferred to younger players such as Andy Balbirnie, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell and Paul Stirling. But they haven't lived up to the expectations in recent times. Also, in batting there will be a lot of dependence on Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker. Also, I will be watching the performance from Craig Young. He is their no.1 bowler at this point.

And after a little while the test match between the two teams is going to start. As both the teams are new to the test format, anything can happen in this test match. I am not favoring any team, anyone can win this test match. Earlier the two teams met in the first Test match in 2019 where Afghanistan won the Test match by 7 wickets. Afghanistan's test format players are new, experienced bowlers like Rashid Khan Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman are not in this test match. Ireland have quite a few good batsmen and bowlers with much more experience than the Afghanistan players. I hope the match will be very competitive.

India outstanding performance in this test match by Winning 5 wickets against England. In second India bowled out England all team in just 145 runs. The Player of the Match is Dhruv Jurel for his amazing batting performance in First inning score 90 runs, just missed his well deserved century only 10 runs short and in the second inning also batted scoring 39 runs unbeaten. India not oonly this this match but also won the 5 Matches series by 3-1. I hope England will strongly come back in the 5th test match.

Despite all the competitiveness England are still lagging and it won't change, at least in this cycle.

Both the teams participating in any cricket match try their best to win the match. However, the team players who can give good performance are known to be able to win the match. When this Test series between India and England started, England got off to a good start by defeating India in the first match. What the heck are you talking about? They won the first match in the series due to which the score is 3:1 currently. They played pretty well in several tests including the recent one on India's turf.

England might have lost the series, but they put up on heck of a fight and didn't make it extremely easy for the Indians.

Impressed with Jurel, especially because he batted well under pressure, most newcomers and often experienced too lose their composure while performing under pressure, also Jurel and Jaiswal both are young (23, 22 years respectively), right guidance and they are good to go.

On Patidar, guy is good, I love to see his shots when he's in touch, but I'm sure the pressure of playing good, to prove his worthiness caused him to perform poor, also he's already 30 and there are so many young players in the line who want to get into Indian team and this may cause him to get sidelined.

Last test match has lost it's relevance, as India has already won the series by a margin of 3-1. It was a blunder from England to not to give their pacers enough spells in the last innings (Ollie Robinson and James Anderson together got just 3 overs, while the spinners bowled 58 overs). And they had India at 120/5 when Sarfaraz got out. But then Dhruv Jurel and Shubman Gill took India home by batting patiently. England captain persisted with his spinners, and I thought that Anderson had a better opportunity to get a few breakthroughs.

Agreed. Heard that Pant will finally be playing again in the IPL though he will only bat and probably field, but he won't be keeping. Him, Rahul and Jurel are great options considering everything at the moment.
