It is once again proven that there is no competition at least in the test format for India. Australia is the only team that can trouble them, at least occasionally.
I disagree. India is a powerful team across all formats for sure, but saying that they have little competition in the test format is inaccurate. They haven't won a single WTC trophy yet which speaks volumes.
However, I am not sure whether they will be able to perform at the same level once the golden generation retires (Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin.etc). The younger players like Iyer and Gill doesn't have the same consistency.
The younger players are inconsistent now, but they might improve and perform way more consistently in the future. Also, Pant might return too which would be a big boost.
