Another reason behind the shift of cricketers to the T20 format is that most of the county leagues in the T20 format include Big Bash, IPL, PSL, BPL, Caribbean League, SA_20, and dozens of other leagues, resulting in a constant demand for players in the T20 format. That is why most of the players retire from ODI format and Test format but do not retire easily from T20 format.

Yeah that can be one of the reason but not many T20 players can play test cricket. Test cricket needs a lot of patience, stamina and skills. The same can be talked for 50 over cricket, whereas in T20 it is a matter of few overs. When players retire they continue to play T20 as it doesn't need them to be on ground a full day. They only need to be on the ground for a few hours which their bodies can adapt to easily.

The point is, the Indian system is tough because of competition and when you get early success then you have to perform consistently for the next 10-15 tests as well otherwise someone else will replace you.
This is one of the reasons why more and more cricketers are shifting their time and resources to the T20 format since they stand to earn more money and popularity in a way shorter period without worrying too much about other factors.

Honestly, I would do the same because time is money. Test cricket is great for several reasons, but it requires a huge time+effort investment.

India won because all these youngsters wanted to prove a point to the selectors. That made them out perform themselves which in turn helped India. Jaiswal has cemented his position in the test team after yesterday. Sarfaraz will be selected for the next test match and Jurel will again get an opportunity. Consistency is not a big issue with this team there are good days and bad days that every player has to face.
Right youngster team played like a king in first test match both youngster performance very well. Yashasvi Jaiswal who played an excellent inning of double hundred and helped india to set a big lead for England. England team failed and only scored just 122 runs all out and India won it by huge margin. Ravindra Jadeja very impactfull player took five wickets. I hope England will Comeback in the next game.
Yashasvi Jaiswal did not bat very well in the first innings in the third test match of India vs England. Yashasvi Jaiswal got out for only 10 runs. But Yashasvi Jaiswal batted brilliantly in the second innings. In the third test match, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 214 runs from 236 balls in the second innings Yashasvi Jaiswal is unbeaten in the third test. The way he performed in the second innings in the match was amazing. His game looked like he was playing at ODI level. Yashasvi Jaiswal made a big contribution in beating England by a huge margin in the third test match. But if England's batsmen could have batted well in the second innings, maybe the match against India would not have been lost by a huge margin of 434 runs. The only reason England lost against India by a huge margin of 434 runs in the third Test was England's poor batting. So England team should give their best performance in the fourth test match and try to win against India in the fourth test match.

There is no such thing as reserved or permanent in the Indian team and it is also true for Jaiswal or other young batters, considering many are waiting in the wings.

Gill was about to face the axe after 2nd test but he made 100 and saved his position, his recent 91 runs inning also gave him an extra 4-5 tests long rope and maybe add the next Australia tour as well.

You are right there is nothing like a permanent position in the Indian team until a player plays like Rohit or Kohli. They have a proven track record and the cricketing world acknowledges them. I still think Jaiswal will have more opportunities than Gill as he has now joined the League of Legends after scoring back-to-back 200 runs. This is how Rohit Sharma became a legend and so did Virat Kohli, if he gets another double century as two more tests are yet to be played then he will cement his position as long as no one is challenging him in test cricket as an opener. Gill has been struggling it is visible and he might not get a berth in the team when Kohli is back unless he keeps on getting those runs as he has done in the last two innings.

I am not sure about Shubman Gill, he has already played 23 test matches and he is not very consistent in batting. He has scored 91 runs in last test which means he has secured his spot for this series at least.
Shubman Gill is a great batsman as we have seen in many matches, maybe he is not in good form at present which is why he is batting poorly in this Test series. Shubman Gill is a consistent batsman as we all know that he got a chance to play 43 innings in 23 Test matches in his career where he scored 1232 runs. Shubman Gill has three centuries and five half-centuries in his Test career and has a batting average of 32.3 which is ideal for a Test player at such a young age.

Yashasvi Jaiswal spot in test cricket is reserved because of his two double centuries in two consecutive test matches. I am not sure about Shubman Gill, he has already played 23 test matches and he is not very consistent in batting. He has scored 91 runs in last test which means he has secured his spot for this series at least.
It was England second biggest defeat in terms of runs and heaviest in 90 years. England should have scored at least 250 runs in second innings to avoid such humiliation.
There is no such thing as reserved or permanent in the Indian team and it is also true for Jaiswal or other young batters, considering many are waiting in the wings.

One recent example is another stylish opener, Mayank Aggrawal, he had the same success as Jaiswal when he made his debut in Australia in 2018, he impressed everyone and in his first 13 innings (10 tests) he was averaging 65 with 2 daddy 200s + 1 ton and 3 50s but in the next 12 test match he hit a rough patch (still had another daddy 100 and 2 50s under his belt in the rough patch) and now he's nowhere near the test squad.

Gill was about to face the axe after 2nd test but he made 100 and saved his position, his recent 91 runs inning also gave him an extra 4-5 tests long rope and maybe add the next Australia tour as well.

Consistency will come with more experience. Look at the players. Yashasvi Jaiswal is just 22 years old. Shubman Gill is 24. Even Shreyas Iyer is still in his 20s. Rishabh Pant would be a good addition to the squad as well, and he is in his mid 20s. And then we have all the younger players who are still in bench, such as Sarfaraz Khan (26 years old) and Abhimanyu Easwaran (28 years). These players can only improve with time. Even the second string keepers, including Anuj Rawat, Jitesh Sharma and Dhruv Jurel are all in their early 20s.

Jaiswal and Sarfraz Khan were among the best batting performances of the young players in India's third Test match. Sarfraz Khan won the selectors' hearts with his good batting when he got a chance in the team, maybe he will be in the Indian XI in the next Test match. However, a young Indian player, Rajat Patidar, was given a chance to prove himself in two Test matches but failed to do so.He was given the opportunity to play two Test matches and failed to score a half-century in either of them, Rajat Patidar's highest score of 32 in an innings in a Test match was essentially his highest score of the Test series, so he may lose his place in the next Test match.

Patidar would be replaced in the next test and in most probable case it should be by KL Rahul as hinted by Rohit. Sarfaraz, Jurel would be retained as they have been impressive with bat. Jurel keeping has been good the run out of Duckett was very good. I doubt Bharat would get another opportunity now as Jurel is far better than him. Jaiswal will now be the permanent opener for India in the test matches.

The younger players are inconsistent now, but they might improve and perform way more consistently in the future. Also, Pant might return too which would be a big boost.

Iyer is not getting a spot in the team for the 2024 home season.  After the England series, we have 5 more home tests against Bangladesh and New Zealand. His only hope would be if someone gets injured in the middle order. Don't forget Kohli will also join the team.

Dhruv Jurel already impressed many with his test batting (he was a proven talent with the bat in the T-20) and with the gloves he did fumble a few chances in the first inning but he was on the money in the last inning so i believe he'll get a long rope of 5-6 tests in India. Bharat will now warm the bench or some young keeper will replace him in the squad, which won't be a bad idea.

Yuvraj, Dhoni etc, what happened? Replaced. Although, I agree sometimes we miss their presence on field, but that attachment too soon fades away.
You might be talking about the overall transition period but in red-ball cricket, Yuvraj was mediocre at best. Dhoni was good at the start but in the latter part of his career, he was the uninspiring skipper because he just didn't want to play test cricket or lead the test team. His only achievement was preparing Kohli to take the reign.

Look at India in this 3rd test's 1 inning, India was in miserable position (28-4, similar happened to Engalnd in 2nd inning) and from there Rohit-Jadeja bring India back to excellent position.
I believe it was 28-3 after which Rohit and Jadeja stabilised their innings through their experience. Epic recovery!

India will do fine, we used to think what'll India be without players like Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Dhoni etc, what happened? Replaced. Although, I agree sometimes we miss their presence on field, but that attachment too soon fades away.
Somewhat true. I noticed that MSD started preparing for the upcoming IPL 2024 season in the nets and this is the last time we will get to see this legend play any form of cricket. Some attachments never fade away with time.

...But the failure of their top order batsman has proven me wrong.

England's middle order has been consistently failing, that's the problem for England, and not particularly the sole top order fail as yesterday. If one player can play 100+ inning then even with support of 20-30 runs from rest can add huge to scoreboard and can put team into defendable position against the opposition.

Look at India in this 3rd test's 1 inning, India was in miserable position (28-4, similar happened to Engalnd in 2nd inning) and from there Rohit-Jadeja bring India back to excellent position.

It is once again proven that there is no competition at least in the test format for India. Australia is the only team that can trouble them, at least occasionally. However, I am not sure whether they will be able to perform at the same level once the golden generation retires (Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin.etc). The younger players like Iyer and Gill doesn't have the same consistency.

India will do fine, we used to think what'll India be without players like Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Dhoni etc, what happened? Replaced. Although, I agree sometimes we miss their presence on field, but that attachment too soon fades away.

England should be happy that they won at least once against the Indians on their own turf because I was expecting them to get whitewashed pretty comfortably considering their current form.

Bazball has proven to be an overrated approach which works only under specific conditions. England needs to adapt better to different conditions.
In the first Test match, India lost the match only because of their mistakes. Especially since every batsman in India could not bat well in the second innings in the first match, they suffered a defeat by 28 runs. However, despite Bumrah and Siraj creating enough chances towards the end, the match was lost by 28 runs. If India's top order batsmen had done a little bit better that day then India would not have lost the match but India could have easily won the match.

Today, England's batting lineup has been crushed by India's spin magic.Ravindra Jadeja gave a solid performance today and managed to lead his team to a great win.

What a stunning performace by Ravindra Jadeja aand the whole Indian squad. They manage to beat England and won this match by 434 runs. I do not understand that on a pitch where the Indian batsmen score 445 and 430/4d, the England team find it difficult to bat on.

Many of us thought England might not win the Test match but they would bat well but in the end they failed to do that too. Ravindra Jadeja's brilliant all-rounder has given India a 2-1 lead in the Test series already. In this Test match, Jaswal completed his second double century of his career, which is even a record for an Indian player. Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged Man of the Match for his impeccable performance in this Test match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal  made 214 and remain not out. You cannot expect a better test match innings than this, coming at the opening and then making a double century and still do not losing his wicket. Shubman Gill 91 and Sarfaraz Khan 68, made this Indian team getting a big 500+ lead.

The England team does not know how to bat in the 2nd innings. Mark Wood  made 33 runs and he was the highest scorer in the 2nd innings. This shows the uncertainty and bad batting from the England team that they were all out at 122 runs. If you see and check the bowling of India in the 2nd innings you will be more than happy to see every bowler bowling beautifully and getting wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets and the top wicket taker was Ravindra Jadeja with 4 wickets.

In the 3rd Test match of India vs England, England team came to the field to play the 2nd Innings today. They scored 72 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 29.4 overs. Ravindra Jadeja of India team took 3 wickets with 11 runs in 10 overs. Kuldeep Yadav 11 runs in 5.1 overs.  took 2 wickets with .England team still need 483 runs to win this match.
India won the 3rd test match by huge margin of 434 runs. The Player of the Match of this third match by Ravindra Jadeja from India for his all round batting and bowling performance in batting first they scored amazing hundred by scored 112 runs in second inning of match. Ravindra Jadeja bowling well scored 2 wickets in first inning of match and in second inning of match by picking 5 wickets by giving 41 runs and win match for his team.

If India had not made any simple mistakes in the first match, then maybe team India would have won 100% in the first three matches. After losing the first match, the way Team India came back in the last two matches against England, it seems that Team India will continue the winning streak in the next two matches.
Currently every player of Indian team is performing very well especially the debutant Sarfraz Khan has batted brilliantly in 2 innings. I don't see any weakness in this current Indian Test team. The bowlers are bowling very responsibly as well as the batsmen are batting very responsibly as well as the all rounders are constantly performing all round and playing a great role in the team's victory.

The Indian team's performance in the third Test match has impressed everyone.Jaswal, the young player of the Indian team in this test match, gave an impeccable batting performance. England batted well in the first innings of the third Test match, but no one could have imagined that they would bat so badly in the second innings. All England's batsmen were bowled over by India's spin bowlers. India's three spin bowlers Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldev Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin took a total of six wickets.Out of which Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets alone and he was also excellent in batting in this test match.
