There are 46 overs to be bowled today, so it won't be easy to not lose even a single wicket. Pakistan must try to score as much runs as possible today and must not play defensive cricket. If Pakistan can bat till stumps of Day 3 then there is fair chance that they can draw this test, which is the only win situation for Pakistan in this game.
Aamer Jamal had a great test debut, picking 6 wickets in his first ever test and that too against Australia.
Can we expect Pakistan to win this Test?Pakistan must bat very defensively against Australia if they want to win this match. One of the reasons is that Australia scored 487 runs which is a mountain.
However, Pakistan are batting in the third season on the second day of this Test match and they have collected 107 runs for one wicket.
Pakistan still need to cross 380 runs.

Aamir Jamal had a wonderful debut! Congratulations on taking six wickets in a Test match against the World's best side on their home turf – that's serious achievement. Thanks to Jamal's performance, Pakistan managed to wrap up Australia's innings shortly after lunch. Mitchell Marsh falling just 10 runs short of a well-deserved hundred, however Australia finished their innings at 487 runs. While it's a challenging task, Pakistan has at least kept Australia below 500. Now, it's the Pakistani batters' turn to make the most of the opportunity.

Okay so he is a debutant and that is a big achievement from him playing his first international test match. I looked further into his bio and found out that he is an all rounder. Not sure about the information that I got from ESPN Cricinfo. If he is a all rounder then he is a good find by PCB. Need to see him bat to find out how good he is in scoring runs.

Till now everything is going well for Pakistan as a partnership is brewing between the opening pair. They should continue batting in the same manner till the end of today.

The Australian team ended the first innings but scored 487 runs, a huge score for the Pakistani team. The batsmen of the Australian team performed well in the beginning, but the fall of wickets was high towards the end of the match. However, if the Pakistan team can stay on the field with patience today, there will be a chance of meeting the target of 487 runs. If the Pakistan team can finish the first day of the first innings without a wicket today, they will certainly be able to collect a good number of runs. Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq entered the field as the opening batsmen of the Pakistan team and the duo must be strong.

I know there is no issue with the pitch as it's on the flatter side but Aussie comms keep saying that it's a tough pitch for batters.

I mean, c'mon. The first inning score is about to touch the 500 mark and these guys saying it's tough to bat on? Do they think that listeners are dumb or something?
Lol! You're right. They ended up posting a huge target of around 487 runs though they could have surpassed 500 if it wasn't for Jamal ripping into the tail-enders. He performed admirably though he needs to stop leaking so many runs.

Warner and Marsh were the highlights. Pakistan could lose the first test by an innings if they don't bat smartly.

I was expecting a 5 wicket haul, but this guy surpassed it and got 6 wickets. Only because of him that Pakistan was able to restrict Australia to 487 which is still a big target. I think Warner was the player who gave Australia a good start, all other except Marsh were just not up to the level required to bat in test format. It won't be easy for Pakistan to chase those runs and if they want to then they would need a good partnership.

Australia team collected 487 runs based on David Warner's great innings.Out of Australia's 487 runs, David Warner alone scored 164 runs and Mitchell Marsh scored 90 runs. Before the start of this match I thought Australia might score 300-350 because Pakistan's bowling line-up is very strong but Pakistani bowlers failed to prove it.But Pakistan's fast bowler Aamer Jamal has to be credited as he single-handedly took six wickets against Australia otherwise Australia could have scored more runs.
Now Pakistan comes to bat and they have already collected nine runs.Best wishes to my beloved team Pakistan.

Given the fact that they sent a very inexperienced squad, I would say that Pakistan did well to restrict Australia to 346/5 in the first day. Now they are 416/6, as Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey added 90 valuable runs for the 6th wicket partnership. Now Mitchell Starc has come out to join Marsh, and there is a good chance that Australia may get to a total of 500 plus. In that case, avoiding follow on will be difficult for Pakistan. Australia has a full strength attack, which includes Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood.

Australia concluded there innings at 487 runs. Pakistani bowlers have done a decent job, apart from picking the wicket of Warner very late. As usual they were sloppy in field, missed catches and stumping chances. All these blunders allowed Australia to score 487 runs. Now it will be interesting to see how Pakistan respond to this total of 487. There are high expectations from Babar Azam and I hope Pakistan has the ability to score 300 or more runs.

It would have been a much better contest if it was PM XI vs Pak.

They are just piling runs here, 476/7 and counting but I don't understand why comms for the most part keep pointing out that it's a tough pitch to bat on. I know Pak's bowling looked pretty toothless so far but the pitch is not tough at all, especially for the home team. There must be some tired legs in the Pakistani camp but hope they cross at least 300 runs in their inning.

The pitch is not an issue, but may turn bad by the end of the second day. Aamer Jamal has already taken 4 wickets in just 19 over and I feel another one is coming to him shortly. Already the youngster is looking motivated after taking 4 wickets and a fifer would be great for his stats. Already the scoreboard is looking good for the Australian side and if they are able to add another 30 runs then it won't be easy for the Pakistani batters.

Yes Australia is really showing very good performance they play very well in ODI, T20 and in test match they scored 336 runs in the first innings against Pakistan on the first day and lost only five wickets which means they can collect more runs.  Their first innings performance suggests that they will win the Test match against Pakistan. Australia has become very proficient in the game of cricket. And they seem to be doing very well in almost every match.

Australia no doubt is looking to finish the match with an innings win. I am saying this as we all know that Pakistan batsmen go under a lot of pressure when they see a big target in front of them, they would usually collapse. The Australian team have this thing in mind and therefore they won't declare this innings.

I think Australia will give Pakistan a target of at least 700 runs with two innings in this test match against Pakistan and it will not be possible for Pakistan to win the match beyond this score.

I am not sure if the Australian team can reach 700 runs because they are already 7 wickets down with a score of 476. Although Mitchell Marsh is not out at 90 runs and can go on to make a big hundred, they do not have a lot of wickets on the other end. Still, I expect them to make anything around 550 runs and if they are really lucky, they can stretch this to 600 runs,

The test match of India A vs South Africa Awas started in the last three days, and South Africa A batted first and their team was all out on 319, this is not a good performance by the South African A team.

The test match was played in Potchefstroom, which was a city in South Africa. Anyway, if I am telling you the performances of the South African A team batsmen so you can't believe that their original how can win the matches, their new talent is not played well, as you can see their batsmen like Yaseen Valli, he plays around 9 balls and cannot take at least 20 runs so you can see the difference between the original team and this new team and not only Yaseen Valli others players just followed him. They also just wasted balls and didn't make runs.

The bowling line-up of Pakistan is weak and the same can be expected from their batting line-up. The test match is slowly sliding away from Pakistan. A target of 500+ is not that easy to chase, the only option would be to avoid follow on. Then try to end this match as a draw. It will be not so easy but they have to give it a try. As of now it doesn't look like the bowlers are trying something different as they are now getting hammered by the Australian batters.

Even if they avoid follow on, saving this test match won't be that easy. Today is just the second day and already Australia has amassed a massive total of 476/7. 63 overs remain in today's play. Australia may quickly add another 40-50 runs in the next 10 overs and then ask Pakistan to bat. And that would give them 50+ overs today. And unless Pakistan gets to a similar total, they won't be able to save this match. And Australian lower order is quite strong. I won't be surprised if they get to a total of 500-550.

Anyway, Yaseen Valli played 86 balls and just made 16 runs, he played very poor if he played like this so he would never make their place in the original South African team, and Cameron Dean Shekleton also didn't play well, but he also didn't waste balls like Yaseen Valli, the openers success to make just 16 runs and waste 88 balls.

Apart from Shaheen all bowlers are new or making debut in test cricket. This is not the bowling lineup Pakistan should have sent against Australia. 410 runs already made and still Australians have 5 more batsmen to come. This test match is slipping away from Pakistan and best they can do in this match is to draw it and that's something Aussies won't allow them to do.

I don't think Pakistan team will win against Australia. But my  guess was that the series would be competitive. Although Pakistan's bowling attack is not weak, the bowlers are not in good form. And  as usual in today's test match  we didn't see good performance from Pakistani bowlers. Australia collected  126 runs in the first wicket pair. However  after the lunch break, the performance of the Pakistani bowlers was slightly better. Looks like  Australia will collect around 480-500. The match is likely to be a draw if Pakistan's batsmen can bat well.

The way Australia is batting well in the first test match between Pakistan vs Australia, it seems that the chances of Australia winning the first test are very high. After winning the 2023 World Cup, the confidence of the Australian team has increased a lot. I think Australia can win the first test against Pakistan. David Warner in particular batted brilliantly. The current score of the Australian team is 346 runs for five wickets. If the next batsmen of the Australian team can bat well, then maybe Australia can give a target of 450 runs to Pakistan. Pakistan's bowling is very good but they are not able to take advantage as much as Pakistan in this test match against Australia. If Pakistan's bowlers could have bowled well, they could have restricted Australia to less runs.
