Good start by Australia on the first day as they have got 346 runs on the scoreboard after losing 5 wickets. David Warner was agressive and was able to get 164 runs which looks great for a batter who was struggling a few years back.

Australia team performed very well as they scored 346 runs for 5 wickets. Among them, Warner performed the best, he entered the field as an opening batsman and scored 164 runs. But because of Warner's long-lasting, Australia managed to score 346 runs in the end. Other batsmen did not score good runs, so warner contributed the most with 346 runs. On the second day, the bowling performance of the Pakistan team was very good. Aamer Jamal took two wickets alone with just 63 runs.

David Warner has collected half of Australia's score in this case. Apart from David Warner's 164 out of 346 runs, the remaining 182 runs were collected by four batsmen. However, Pakistan's fast bowlers each got a wicket, so it is understood that spin is not helping Australia's pitch. Moreover, batting in the second innings is not an easy matter, in that case it will be difficult for Pakistan to fill the target and take the lead. If Australia can bat for two sessions tomorrow, the guaranteed run score will be 500, making it impossible for Pakistan to draw this Test.

I was excited about this test series which is between Australia vs Pakistan where 1st day is over already.  Excitement was specially for David Warner as i found an article where he declared his retirement from Test and this series is going to be his last test serial (correct me if I'm wrong) and he impressed everyone with his excellent century & fifty, scored 164(211) run total. Although Australia team played so well from their beginning and the viral role of David Warner helped Australia to archive 346/5 score in day 1.  Rest of batsman played average although still there are a lot to see. Aamer Jamal is newcomer in Pakistan who got 2 wickets meanwhile. And Shaheen Afridi did his best bowling till now.

Quite surprised to see Khurram Shahzad opening the bowling for Pakistan. Apart from Shaheen Shah Afridi, they have selected a very inexperienced bowling squad for this test. Shahzad is playing in his first ever test match (also the first match for Pakistan national team). Recently he performed really well in Pakistan domestic cricket, while playing for Faisalabad. Aamer Jamal is also playing his first test match, and he represents Lahore Whites in domestic cricket. BTW, pitch at Perth Stadium seems to be batsmen friendly and Australia may end up with 400-500 on board by day 2.
1st test Australia won toss and batting first and they made 355/5 in 80 overs of Day 1 usman khawaja made 41 runs and trevis head 40 runs while brilliant batting by David Warner 164 runs inning played David warner always excellent performance against pakistan and this is last series of Wwarner. on pak side ammir jamal takes 2 wickets while shaheen shah, khurram shahzad and faheem ashraf took single wickets. Pakistan bowlers failed to take wickets early first wicket gone on 126 runs the way Australian team bulid up pressure on pakistan on going last session PAK needs to take AUS remaining wickets
ICC Test series Pakistan tour to Australia and 1 st game and 1 st day of this series was overed now and in this game, Australia team get the chance by winning the toss from Pakistan team for choosing first bat or bowl in pitch and Australia team elected first bat. 1 st day already ended and Australia team showed brilliant effort in batting lineup and their 1 st inning ended today. Australia team scored 346 runs in 84 overs and by losing 5 wickets. D.Warner batsman scored 164 runs in 211 balls and he hitted sixteen 4s and for 6s and then dismissed from ground. U.Khawaja scored 41 runs in 98 balls and he hitted six 4s and this batsman also dismissed. T. Head also dismissed from pitch and he scored 40 runs in 53 balls and he hitted six 4s and they also dismissed.

Warner has played without the fear today, and played a great innings. Australia has scored enough runs in the first day. Pakistan has a good batting lineup too, but the match is completely in favour of Australia now.

Not looking good for Pakistan as they might get a big target of excess of 400 runs to chase. The second innings should start tomorrow and it would be interesting to watch Pakistan batters.
Your trust feedback seems right, you are engaging in the test cricket discussion without knowing how it works. Australia is playing their first innings now, not giving the target yet. Pakistan will start their first innings batting if Australia gets all out tomorrow.

Naseem Shah is unfit while Haris Ruaf preferred playing BBL then to play this test series against Australia. In absence of these 2 main pacers, Pakistan left only with these options. So far Aussie batting has destroyed Pakistan bowling and main reason is David Warner who is not out on 150. Aussies have made 289 runs so far and by stumps they will make 350/375. I don't think Pakistan batting has so much depth that they can chase down 400 or 500 against Aussie bowling lineup.
Haris Rauf understands his body condition and if he focuses on his financial security by prioritizing T-20, then there is nothing wrong with it.

He has virtually no FC experience, The last time he played a test match on his debut series he gave up after a couple of spells and had to leave the ground so he clearly can't ball more than 10 overs in a test match. Pakistani fans should understand this and management should leave the poor guy alone, On top of that FFS they must stop shaming him and they need to come up with a better solution. Pakistan is lucky that he's not in the team otherwise they could have been 1 bowler short for the next 4 days.

Australia ends up the day at 346/5, and almost half of those runs were made by David Warner (164 from 211 balls). None of the other Australian batsmen could make a half-century, and that shows how he dominated the Pakistani batsmen. Usman Khawaja was the second highest scorer with 41, followed by 40 from Travis Head. The two debutants for Pakistan (Aamer Jamal and Khurram Shahzad) shared three wickets between them, while the more experienced bowlers went for plenty. My guess is that Australia may end with 400-450, which is still not enough to enforce follow on.

Performance from Australia is looking really good right now. They still have five wickets in hand and they have already got a huge score of 346. Even though most of the scoring was done by only one man. But anyway, this is definitely a very big score. I think they could easily go to 450 and after that end their innings. Even if they do not get all out, they are going to declare. Pakistan is definitely going to have a hard time winning this match. And if Pakistan can also perform as well as them in this match, we are looking towards another drawn test match.

Australia had a good day, especially David Warner, who responded to critics with an aggressive performance. He proved that he's not done with his Test career yet.

The Pakistani players are facing a tough Test series against the mighty Australia on their home ground. Unfortunately, they don't look good and seem to lack confidence. If the Pakistani bowlers can't take the remaining Aussie wickets, a total of 500 runs is likely on the cards tomorrow.

If Australia can bat till all out then the target can be more than 450 runs. Both Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carry remain unbeaten with wickets. But Australian captain Pat Commins himself can do good defensively so tomorrow if they can bat well in the first session then the runs will go above 450. Australia's score for now is 346/5 which is a good fighting score for Pakistan.
The bowlers of Pakistan team averaged fairly well but except for spinner Agha Salman all got wickets.

The way Australia is batting against Pakistan in the first test match, it may be possible for them to score 500+ runs today. Although Australia's run rate may drop at the moment, David Warner's dismissal is likely to be good for Pakistan. As long as David Warner has been at the crease, the run rate has increased tremendously, but now that he is out, the run rate may decrease. David Warner scored 164 off 211 balls and there was no doubt that he would have scored a double century had he stayed on till the end. However, Aamer Jamal managed to take a great wicket, but the quick runs that Australia put up were really huge scores. Australia might give Pakistan a huge lead in today's match, and it looks like it will be very difficult for Pakistan to collect this huge run score. However, at the moment Australia has collected 322 wickets in 5 overs at 75.2, Australia team is showing great performance on the first day against Pakistan.

So, it is Warner who is the reason for 293 on the first day. 150 runs done for Warner next would be 200 if Pakistan doesn't comes up with a strategy. Not looking good for Pakistan as there are plenty of wickets left. If Warner continues then before the day end 350 runs might be on the scoreboard. Shaheen Afridi's charm hasn't been working after the Asia Cup, only 1 wicket till now. The combo of Naseem Shah and Afridi was the best Pakistan had until Shah's injury.

India is the best country for the red-ball format with England and Australia are also having profit, but this all is just going between these three and if India is touring in countries like South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies then they are also having profit otherwise these all are having nothing to do with this format.

India vs South Africa and India vs New Zealand series will be competitive as long as India is the touring side. Can't say the same about West Indies. Anyway, irrespective of whether it is generating adequate interest or not, test cricket should be cut down to size. In today's fast moving world, no one has enough time to watch a game that spans over 40 hours. It is a massive waste of productivity. None of the other sports come anywhere near. Even if a football match ends up in penalty shootout, it seldom stretches for more than 2.5 hours.

Well... I agree that the number of test matches should be reduced. Apart from a few series such as the Ashes, Border-Gavaskar and Trans-Tasman, very few cricket fans nowadays watch the test matches. And even then, teams spend anywhere from 50 to 80 days every year playing test cricket (more than that in any other format). The way to move forward is to reduce the number of test matches, and to increase the number of T20 matches. But there is a lot of resistance from the ICC and BCCI. The sooner they realize it, that better.
You have a weird obsession with Trans-Tasmen series  Tongue. It's considered one of the dead bilateral series in Australia, it's similar to Ind vs SL where only one team wins and statspad all the time.

I noticed many posters are here saying that Test cricket is dying, this statement is half true. Numbers suggest that in BIG-3, it's doing more than enough, you have to look at how CA and ECB are fetching big amounts for their test series against India. In the current cycle Media rights deal broke the previous records.

Test cricket is dying argument only works when someone is playing 3 or 2 matches series.
Here I agree, now test cricket is dying for the all other than BIG-3 which are having strong system and better environment for this as well all others are down with few are already out, and we have no positive chance for them to fightback into this format just because of this I am consistently saying ICC needs to rethink about this format and for improve of quality and performance they need to have few restrictions if these works in next few others then ok otherwise just having T20i format now could be beneficial for all members, and they can take good profit from this as well which will help them just like soccer leagues are doing in all countries.

India is the best country for the red-ball format with England and Australia are also having profit, but this all is just going between these three and if India is touring in countries like South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies then they are also having profit otherwise these all are having nothing to do with this format.

This is the ornament of cricket because in Tests one batsman plays defensive cricket while the other plays an aggressive innings. David Warner played aggressive innings till Usman Khawaja got out and his strike rate remained above 100 but after Usman Khawaja got out David Warner started playing defensive innings. However, because Australia's Perth stadium is basically a batting support wicket, the run score will be much higher. However, after Sheen Afridi picked up the wicket of Usman Khawaja, Australia's scorecard slowed down the run rate somewhat. But at the end of today's game, it is very likely that Australia's innings will reach 350+.

They are 204/2 with Warner batting at 108. Just now the debutant Shahzad dropped one of the easiest chances he will ever get from Warner. Agha Salman would have got a much deserved wicket. Fielding from Pakistan has been poor so far. They dropped multiple catches, and then conceded several runs from misfields as well. And given how Agha Salman has bowled till now, the pitch seems to have some support for the spinners. Unfortunately for Pakistan, they went with an all-pace attack and doesn't have any full-time spinners in their playing XI.

Australia 175/2 (40 ov) CRR: 4.36

David Warner 95(118)*
Steven Smith 9 (8 )*
It's like Australia is playing an ODI match as Australia scored 175 runs after 40 overs. But the way David Warner is batting, it seems that this is not a Test match. He hit 13 fours and hit 1 six.

Edited: 100* for David Warner. Congratulations for maiden ton . Today David Warner completed 26th Test hundreds.

LOL.. all of a sudden David Warner has gone for the defense mode. And the debutant Khurram Shahzad is actually bowling really well, getting some late movement. He is looking much better when compared to the experienced Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Edit: Finally Shaheen Shah Afridi gets a wicket, as he nabs Usman Khawaja. Australia are at 126/1 and now Marnus Labuschagne has come out to join Warner at the crease. From what I am seeing, both Shahzad and Shaheen are getting a lot of late movement from this pitch. And it will be interesting once the Australians come out to bowl.
