Bangladesh and New Zealand will face off in the second Test at Mirpur Sher Bangla Stadium on Wednesday. Bangladesh won the Sylhet test under the leadership of Nazmul Hossain Shanto. Nazmul Hossain Shanto batted well, so if the Bangladesh team can open well on Wednesday and if a big target can be given to New Zealand, then maybe they can win the series against Bangladesh-New Zealand. After losing the first test match, New Zealand team will try to play very well. Of course, if Bangladesh bats first, they will have to score good runs, then they will have to put New Zealand under pressure with good bowling, then maybe it will be possible to win the match. And if the test series is won against New Zealand it will be the first win for Bangladesh which has never won a test series against New Zealand before. The Tigers want to maintain that winning streak in the Dhaka Test as well. Of course, best wishes for the Bangladesh team, they know they play well.
The second Test match between Bangladesh and New Zealand will start on December 6.Maybe this match will not be too easy for Bangladesh as the New Zealand team has already added three good spinners in their squad. They added Ajaz Patel, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner to their team. New Zealand have strengthened their team's spin bowling attack as they know Bangladesh's pitches are spin friendly.
If the pitch like the one in Sylhet is the same in the Mirpur Sher-Bangla National Stadium, then maybe New Zealand can win against Bangladesh.

Tomorrow is the match of Pakistan vs Australia Prime Minister team, this is a test match and also a tour match so this match is not any method by the series of three test matches, that will be start on 14 December.

The Australian Prime Minister team announced the squad that we will see on the ground tomorrow, and the Pakistan team didn't announce their playing 11 right now but they will do it after a few minutes. In this series, the Pakistan cricket board gave many players a chance to debut in cricket and start to play well as their senior players who led Pakistan to win in every situation.

I liked that team but let's be honest.

They only qualified for the finals because of loopholes and not for their performances. They benefitted because some series got canceled and it includes their away series as well. They played 4 series (3 home -Won), (1 away-Whitewashed). Also Australia messed up with their over rates and fell marginally behind the Kiwis.
At the very least, they won a big ICC tournament while India has been consistently choking at vital points over the years and are competing with South Africa for the bigger choker tag basically.

Also, it felt great to see the Kiwis win after England robbed them during the 2019 ODI WC and because they are some of the nicest cricketers around.

Usually, Mr Gamini de Silva always make spin-friendly wicket at Mirpur and New Zealand know this very well. I know it won't be easy for Bangladesh but considering they will play at their home ground, they are still ahead in this match. They will take as much as advantage they can take as a host team. Taijul was the key bowler in the last match and he might be in the next match too.

The question is, how long Bangladesh will keep doing this thing (make spin-friendly wickets to trap big teams)? Bangladeshi players already shared their thoughts about this ground a long time ago. All of them believe this is not the pitch they want.

By the same logic, what would you call the Indian team?

They have been losing semis and finals (CT, 2 WTC, ODI) like it's a normal routine for them. Kiwis at least won the WTC finals, although I still have a reservation on their qualification for various reasons, but they still won it.

New Zealand won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship Final. India once again lost out in the finals. But back then, New Zealand was the best test team. They had exceptional pace bowlers in their squad such as Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, Trent Boult, Matt Henry and Kyle Jamieson. And the batting was boosted by Kane Williamson, Devon Conway, Ross Taylor and Tom Latham. But now they are a mere shadow of what they were once. Some of the players have retired, while others like Jamieson and Latham have gone out of form.

op I agree with you. As the pice of Bangladesh are spin friendly, maybe the New Zealand team management has added three spinners to the New Zealand team. Of course, when Bangladesh open, the Bangladeshi openers will have to aim to score big runs if they want to win the second match. If the opening pair of Bangladesh make a little big run partnership, then the next batsmen will be able to score good runs. It will depend on Bangladeshi batsmen how well they can score runs. Bangladesh should not miss this opportunity, this is the first test match. Of course we will expect Bangladesh team to win against New Zealand.

They won the inaugural WTC against the Indians so they are not an unpredictable team per se but yeah, they are just bad against spin in red ball cricket, overall it's true for all SENA countries.
I am not agreed about this verdict about New Zealand because they are having problems in big games otherwise they are one of the most consistent team in cricketing world in last four world cups they never lost without reaching into semifinal which is amazing but in big games they are really chokers like South Africa specially in white ball format because in red ball they already beat India in WTC inaugural final which was impressive from them.
You guys justified whatever I stated perfectly if you think about it. New Zealand would have been a regular top ICC tournament winner like Australia if they stopped choking and were predictable.

However, that isn't the case. They won a major trophy like the WTC and lost ODI and T-20 World Cups by small margins which goes to show how unpredictable they truly are.

Bangladesh won because they perform well both in batting and bowling. Fielding is not that much important as it is in ODI or T20I except the fact you need to be good in taking catches at slip position or near batsmen. NZ know how important second test match will be and they will try to win the match to draw the series. The last test series between both these countries played in NZ also ended in draw 1-1.
Had the pitch in Bangladesh's Sylhet field not been spin-friendly, the result of the first match might have been different as the pace bowling from Bangladesh to New Zealand was very strong and world-class.

Throughout the entire innings of this test match, the spin bowlers dominated, especially Taijul Islam of Bangladesh, he was impeccable.
New Zealand must win the second Test if they want to defend the series. One of the best spin bowlers in the New Zealand team is Mitchell Santner. He was not played in the first test match, maybe the target of the New Zealand team will be to play him in the second test match.New Zealand's spin attack will be a little stronger if Mitchell Santner is included in the squad for their second Test match.

It's disappointing to hear about the challenges faced by the Ireland Emerging Players on their tour of West Indies. Cricket can be unpredictable, and teams go through ups and downs. Hopefully, the players will learn from these experiences and come back stronger.

Anyone following the Ireland Emerging Players tour of West Indies? So far the performance from the Irish have been pathetic. They are losing matches to West Indian domestic sides by huge margins. There was a match between Ireland Emerging Players and West Indies Academy that got completed yesterday. Academy won by 432 runs, after bowling out the Irish for 72 and 143. And the Irish squad had players such as Stephen Doheny and James McCollum who had played for the Irish senior side. The future of Irish cricket looks difficult, IMO.

You are right in your thinking as test match depends on wicket so good field plays a big role in run out and cash out. Overs are not a problem in Test matches because here wickets can be played all day so it is more important for the opposition to bowl and field well to take quick wickets and prevent them from scoring big runs like four & six. And if the batsmen can stay on the field for a long time and don't miss single runs then they will be able to collect a lot of runs which should be at least 300+.
Playing the test match requires a lot of patience for the player to stay patient to score runs successfully. Those who watch the test match also have to enjoy the game with a lot of patience.  Test match players have to stay on the field with a lot of patience who enter the field to bat, if they enter the field to bat thinking about runs, they can never survive on the field. To survive on the field, you have to bat with patience.
Yes ,I agree with you. Patience is key to success in test matches. But in opinion, player should play his natural batting. Muhammad Younus was a good test player. He played in every difficult situation and won many matches for team. But in comparison, Shahid Afridi was not ball stop player but his career is brilliant. He is respected whole the world and he made many records in test matches but after he played only T20 and ODI matches. Kumar Sangakara was also a good player ,he made many records and this type of player is very rare.
In my opinion, players should focus on their strengths
In Test matches, a player who gets excited with the bat and tries to hit every ball and is anxious to hit fours/sixes will get out very quickly and will not be able to bring good runs for the team.  In the first Test match, Bangladesh played very well against New Zealand and won the match by a huge margin of runs. Winning a match by 150 runs in a Test match is a big thing. Because there is no over limit, both teams can play as much as they want by save wickets
op I agree with you. Because Tests are being played, batsmen should play with a lot of patience. If they play in a hurry, if they hit 4-6, they get out. If we talk about the first innings of Bangladesh vs New Zealand in that first innings Nazmul Hossain shanto initially seems to be really playing T20 at that level of batting that sonto gets out in a short time. The first test match between Bangladesh vs New Zealand was brilliantly won by Bangladesh. We will have expectations from the Bangladesh team. The way they batted in the first Test at Chittagong Zahoor Ahmed Stadium. By maintaining that consistency,  can win the Test series against New Zealand with great batting .

This was third win for the Bangladesh in 2023 with good bowling and impressive batting bring them to this level they are able to beat New Zealand easily by huge margin new blood working good for the team as they are playing without Tamim and Shakib there were rumors they will be not good, but we have good win for them, but now they need to change their strategy with just depending on spin bowling never works they have to improve their fast bowling and more work on top order batting.
As we all know they are playing test matches for 24 years, but they are not able to reach at their best just because of their structure and poor strategies with subcontinent boards are working under political influence which is also not allowing them to go through like Australia and other boards which having full professional system.

Bangladesh team played very good cricket in the last match against New Zealand. They now have a chance to win a historic test series. I think if they play with positive intent, they will make history in the next match.
On young talent, I think they are still very raw and need much improvement to compete at the global stage. Bangladesh should try to improve and strengthen their domestic cricket. They also need to do more work on the pitches. They have won many home series against major teams on these pitches, but in the long run, these pitches are damaging Bangladesh cricket. Take the example of Afghanistan; they have been playing on different pitches (because of their country's situation) but have improved their game a lot compared to Bangladesh.

It's much important for winning a Test match in cricket to necessitate a strategic blend of gameplay, resilience, and adaptability. A successful team must excel in both batting and bowling, understanding the intricate details of the game. Batting-wise, batsmen must form partnerships, withstand challenging spells from opposition bowlers, and capitalize on scoring opportunities.

I can't fully agree with that fielding is not much important as like ODI and t20 format. Because I think batting and bowling play an important role in the game of cricket as well as in fielding because there are so many records above the catches in the fielding that there are many important wickets to drop catches and they become a threat to win after getting a chance.

Bangladesh batting surprises me in this match which was really impressive with no Tamim and Shakib they were really impressive against New Zealand which having good experienced bowling unit led by Tim Southee with Tajul is also doing good work and having good partners as well which is good sign for the Bangladesh team but still they need to work on many things if they want to keep this momentum in future as well.

Not only Bangladesh's batting was good, I was surprised by their bowling capability too and the way they bowled out New Zealand for 181 runs was just too good to watch.

Bangladesh team will remember this win for a long time. Beating a team as good as New Zealand was not an easy task. Their next target would be to take them on in the 2nd test match. Even if they manage to draw it, it will be considered a success for them as then the series would be in the name of the Bangladesh tigers.

Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell will still remain a threat for them as if these two batsmen played a long inning for New Zealand, Bangladesh may have to be on the back foot. Will see how it goes in that match.
Bangladesh won the Test match after a long time but in the second Test they must remember that it was because of Bangladesh's outstanding batting performance in both innings in the first Test that they were able to defeat New Zealand. But if Bangladesh can bat as well in the second test as in the first test, then they will have a chance to win the second test. In this case, as the spinners did well in the first test, they have to perform well in the second test too, then it will be possible to whitewash New Zealand in the test.
It should always be remembered that if batting, bowling and fielding are good in three areas then it is possible to win against any kind of strong team as Bangladesh proved in the first test.
