Fielding is not that much important as it is in ODI or T20I except the fact you need to be good in taking catches at slip position or near batsmen. NZ know how important second test match will be and they will try to win the match to draw the series. The last test series between both these countries played in NZ also ended in draw 1-1.
I can't fully agree with that fielding is not much important as like ODI and t20 format. Because I think batting and bowling play an important role in the game of cricket as well as in fielding because there are so many records above the catches in the fielding that there are many important wickets to drop catches and they become a threat to win after getting a chance.

Bangladesh won the Test match after a long time but in the second Test they must remember that it was because of Bangladesh's outstanding batting performance in both innings in the first Test that they were able to defeat New Zealand. Bangladesh batting surprises me in this match which was really impressive with no Tamim and Shakib they were really impressive against New Zealand which having good experienced bowling unit led by Tim Southee with Tajul is also doing good work and having good partners as well which is good sign for the Bangladesh team but still they need to work on many things if they want to keep this momentum in future as well.
Not only Bangladesh's batting was good, I was surprised by their bowling capability too and the way they bowled out New Zealand for 181 runs was just too good to watch.
Bangladesh team will remember this win for a long time. Beating a team as good as New Zealand was not an easy task. Their next target would be to take them on in the 2nd test match. Even if they manage to draw it, it will be considered a success for them as then the series would be in the name of the Bangladesh tigers.
Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell will still remain a threat for them as if these two batsmen played a long inning for New Zealand, Bangladesh may have to be on the back foot. Will see how it goes in that match.

Only Daryl Mitchell could put up any sort of resistance in the 4th innings, although Ish Sodhi and Tim Southee added a few runs towards the end. Next match will start on 6th December and will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur (another ground that offers a lot of support for the spinners). New Zealand need to make necessary changes in team selection. Sodhi and Ajaz Patel are not doing their job and I will be surprised if they are included in the playing XI again.

Bangladesh won first match of test series by huge margin of 150 runs against New Zealand. From New Zealand Daryl Mitchell batting well scored fifty 58 runs in 120 balls but failed to beacuse no other batters will support him. Finally Bangladesh had a test victory against some strong test team. Last time they won a test against strong opponent was also against NZ at Mount Maunganui back in Jan 2022. Bangladesh in this game dominated with bowl and bat. Having said that I am sure Bangladesh will lose next match and series will be drawn. Bangladesh had capability to give surprises but they can't capitalise on it.

They won the inaugural WTC against the Indians so they are not an unpredictable team per se but yeah, they are just bad against spin in red ball cricket, overall it's true for all SENA countries.
I am not agreed about this verdict about New Zealand because they are having problems in big games otherwise they are one of the most consistent team in cricketing world in last four world cups they never lost without reaching into semifinal which is amazing but in big games they are really chokers like South Africa specially in white ball format because in red ball they already beat India in WTC inaugural final which was impressive from them.
You guys justified whatever I stated perfectly if you think about it. New Zealand would have been a regular top ICC tournament winner like Australia if they stopped choking and were predictable.However, that isn't the case. They won a major trophy like the WTC and lost ODI and T-20 World Cups by small margins which goes to show how unpredictable they truly are.

Taijul Islam was fantastic in this particular match taking almost 10 wickets through both innings while the other bowlers were quite average in comparison. He should be awarded the man of the match.
The kiwi tail-enders like Southee tried hard and failed since the target is way too high due to which Bangladesh will end up winning this one by a big margin.
It feels different to think that Bangladesh will beat a strong team like New Zealand by a huge margin of 150 runs. But Taijul Islam is the only hero for this victory because he collected ten wickets alone out of total 20 wickets in 2 innings. Mainly the spinners contributed to Bangladesh's win and another in this Test series, Captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto's impeccable century in the second innings helped Bangladesh to a big collection. Bangladesh was able to give a big lead of one run in the first and second innings, that's why it was much easier to defeat New Zealand.The kiwi tail-enders like Southee tried hard and failed since the target is way too high due to which Bangladesh will end up winning this one by a big margin.
However, Mahmudul Hasan's 86-run innings in the first innings played a big role in making Bangladesh score 310 runs. Besides Taijul Islam taking 4 wickets in the first innings, Mominul Haque was able to restrict New Zealand to 317 runs with three wickets.
Mahmdul, Shanto and Tajul were doing good for their team, and they bring this historic win after having worst end of their world cup campaign in India, but we have to check New Zealand is also on rebuild which needs time, and they can fight back into next match as well because they also have quality and players which are best in this format hopefully now we will have good match in Dhaka between these two teams.

Because the New Zealand team is already the champion in the current Test format cricket, and the New Zealand team had prepared their team eleven with all their strong players to play against Bangladesh. New Zealand is a very, very unpredictable team across all formats. For example, they looked like they might win the ODI World Cup at one point, but ended up losing in the semis without even reaching the final.On the other hand, Bangladesh need more players like Taijul Islam to help improve their performance across all formats.
Overall we know these four teams from SENA having problems in subcontinent conditions and lost regularly, so this is no problem, hopefully things will be done better for them in second test match.
