Many did not expect such a good performance from the Indian batsmen. Where we might have thought that the Indian batsmen scored 300 plus but instead they managed to score 404 runs. Which is really appreciable particularly Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav performacne reached the match in reliable position. Bangladesh's batting site was thought to be very weak from the beginning. The same situation is seen in the match. Bangladesh team managed to score 60 runs by losing 4 wickets in the 3rd Session. Hope we can get some more wickets today.

^^ Kuldeep has 1 first-class hundred and half of a dozen 50s under his belt with an average of 22-ish and that too in rank turners against quality spinners so he's not that bad when up against any spin attack.

Bongs are in trouble now. Thick boy Yadav strikes now.

India got bowled out for 404. Once again, after getting a good start with the ball the Bangladeshi bowlers allowed the lower order batsmen from the opposing team to set up a large score. Ravichandran Ashwin hitting a half-century was not surprising for me, as he has showcased his batting skills several times before. But Kuldeep Yadav making a score of 40 tells a lot about the mediocrity of the Bangladeshi attack. And in return, Bangladesh lost a wicket even before they opened their account. Najmul Hossain Shanto got out to a ball from Mohammed Siraj.

404 on the board after 48/3 doesn't look so bad now, quite a nice recovery and the middle-lower order saves the day again for India. Funnily enough, everyone outscored Koach in this inning Grin

Shreyas Iyer could be a big servant of India in Whites, only if he can correct his technique against the short ball. His temperament in red ball cricket is amazing.

Chadwin scoring a 50 was amazing as always, hope Ash anna work on his fitness a bit so that he can serve India for a long. Kuldeep scoring 40 was beautiful, it should give him more confidence.

Let's see how Bangbro proceeds with the bat now.

----------
Uh-oh first ball wicket for Siraj, poor Shanto.

I would love to see if Chadwin score 50+ score here, may be before lunch.

Ashwin can easily score 50 but only after the lunch. He has already scored 40 before lunch and now only needs 10 more. At the moment India have scored 348 runs and anything above 350 on that pitch would be tough for Bangladesh. Good to see Kuldeep Yadav also contributing to the Indian score.

India managed to retain their wickets and bring scores to 350 on day 2 , they have 3 wickets in hand. Indian batsman are playing good but none of them made a century now Ashwin is on field and collecting runs .

If you have a pitch that turns sharply in the first day then it is going to be a challenge for everyone later on in the match especially after the third day. If India could add another 100 runs, then it would be a decent first innings score and with Shreyas Iyer still in the crease, it is possible to add some runs on the board in the morning session and with India having spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel it is going to be a challenge for the Bangladesh batsman.

Well.. it is possible. Ravichandran Ashwin is next to come and he do have a very good batting record in subcontinental tracks. But the problem for India is that after Ashwin it is down to the tail. The three other players to come doesn't have any batting capabilities (Kuldeep Yadav, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj). So I don't know how much India will be able to add to their existing score of 278/6. They may get bundled out for less than 300, or they may make a total of more than 400. Either way, Bangladesh will be on backfoot.

Both teams have equal chance now, but India is still favourite based on the odds provider. Because, Bangladesh batting lineup isn't strong for the test format. Bangladesh would stay ahead if they didn't miss the easy catches of Shreyas Iyer and Pujara. Iyer got another chance there when the bowl hitted the stump but the bails didn't fall from the stump. This match isn't going to end as draw, there will be a winner for sure.

It does look like Bangladesh are in trouble now since India could end up scoring something close to 350 in their first innings primarily thanks to Pujara and Iyer which is a great total overall.
India winning or a draw are the most likely outcomes of this match at this point unless something unexpected happens.

Not a bad session for India but Bangbros are not far behind either, they could've been in a better position tho, Only if the keeper was in the best shape.

Still, they are bowling tight and nice but I feel their fielding setup is kind of defensive, they could've been a bit aggressive when Pant got out.

Left-arm spin looking good here and creating some chances so Axar won't mind that. Anyway, after this partnership, India could fancy 300+ runs on the scoreboard.
Iyer and Pujara are going strong so yes it is possible for India to go beyond 300 with ease already they have score 220+ runs and have built a partnership of more than 100 runs. Bangladesh bowlers started well but at the moment they look helpless against both Pujara and Iyer.
Yeah it was crucial partnership, although it wasn't an easy ride.

Shreyas Iyer rode luck throughout his inning. First Keeper dropped him (it was tough one), then 2nd time Fielder dropped a dolly at the boundary and 3rd time was really unfortunate for the Bongs as ball kissed the stumps, the bails rattled a bit but didn't fall on the ground.

It was turning out to be India's day but those 2 quick wickets of Pujara and Axar balanced out the situation so overall good contest between bat and ball.
Pujara was unlucky and for Axar I would say he was shaky from the beginning. Next up is Ashwin and he can bat and stay too. I sensed that the Indian batters were too agressive today considering Sheyas Iyers batting style and Panth too. Iyer was lucky in multiple occasions but not Panth. I think with three spinners India wants to dominate the weak Bangladesh batters. They only want a defendable target which as per me is anything above 300. What do you think?
Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer congregate from that position successfully, though India were in a bit of a shambles at the start. They think their scores are based on strong enough according to the pitches. However, they are not sure how this wicket will behave in the coming days. India scored 409 runs in the third ODI of the series. Chittagong wickets are usually good for making run . However, even though the wicket of this test has been slow since the first day, the unbalanced bounce is making the batsmen uncomfortable. The ball was going low almost from the start. Later, the players of the Bangladesh team got to see the turn.

I strongly believe if India team scores 300 plus then victory will be assured. Because Bangladeshi batting sites are not very strong at the moment especially against India.

Ghanta aggressive approach if your SR is below 50. Openers did start well tho but they went into their shell quickly.

Pant was the only batter to play aggressively but it's no surprise anymore. Usually Pujara has a habit of going hard after scoring 50-100 and he did that as well but overall it was a slow inning and a necessary one so i don't mind him playing slow as this is his trademark. Iyer could change gears drastically against spinners tho so jury is still out.

I would love to see if Chadwin score 50+ score here, may be before lunch.

Considering the batting capabilities of Ravichandran Ashwin, I guess India may comfortably reach 400+ runs tomorrow which is more than enough for eyeing innings or 10 wickets winning against Bangladesh. A little disappointment from Virat Kohli as I expected him to score another century after his return to form in white ball cricket. Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer are highlight of opening day of this first test.

Overall, India may win this test series 1-0 but I see Mohamed Shami is not playing for India still India got
Mohammed Siraj who is having good run as recent test matches hence I predict India could be the favourite for this series regardless of home advantage to Bangladesh.

Yes Indian players did not score very well today.
Yeh it's true that fue experience batter didn't perform in this first test against Bangladesh like Rahul Captain of indian team for this test didn't perform well also king Kohli didn't perform and also Shubman Gill, while pujara play a class inning but unfortunately didn't score a century while any class player who score with consistency in every format of Cricket for team India name as Shreyas Iyer are still on a creas and score 82 runs which is quite good soon he will score a century, now India need a strong partnership to build a strong target for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh's use of the new ball paid off as Axar Patel and Pujara were removed from well-set positions.
At this pitch, it's not a bad score, and it won't get better. After 48/3 in the first session, I think this is a good day for India on this wicket. Iyer and Pujara definitely played well. As a result of his double survival, Shreyas Iyer was the lucky man today. As of tomorrow, Shreyas Iyer will start batting at 82.

Yes Indian players did not score very well today.Total 4 Indian players including KL Rahul played very bad game.In this match KL Rahul scored 22 runs from 54 balls.Virat Kohli scored only 1 run from 5 balls.I see Virat Kohli  They have started performing very badly for several days. However, no one really imagined that India's good batsmen will get out with so few runs in today's match.
4 wickets gone not single century and all main batting lineup got out on Day 1 , what was hurry to score.  First India should have read the pitch and build a sensible partnership and them start picking up the pace but they were in hurry to score and as a result 4 down  .Shreyas iyer is now on pitch and I think he'll score a century.
Bangladesh ballers definitely did a good job and if they keep balling like this they will restrict India on 300 to 350 runs in 1st innings.
