Rishabh Pant didn't batted comfortably. If he had settled in, and batted for a few hours, then we could agree on that. But he came with his guns blazing and was trying to smash each and every ball out of the park. Luck was on his side and he managed to survive for 57 balls. But then, I would not say that he was comfortable out there. The pitch was not suitable for international cricket, and there is no doubt regarding this. It gave the spinners an undue advantage. The only difference this time was that it backfired on the Indians as Mitchell Santner and Ajax Patel roasted them.
Yes you are right Rishabh Pant batting style was very aggressive but it did not look like he was comfortable. He tried to hit every ball as far as possible depending on luck instead of playing carefully. Even though he managed to stay in for 57 balls it was clear he was struggling. Condition of pitch was not good enough for international cricket. It helped spin bowlers too much. Usually this would help India but surprisingly Mitchell Santner and Axar Patel used spin to India disadvantage. Pant batting plan and pitch conditions together led to unexpected result.
Yes ,you are right. Pant was the only person who played well from Indian side . He played well in both innings and made half centuries in both innings.  Shubman Gill played excellent in first inning and he made 90 runs which made made some interesting but after that Indian bowlers could not perform well and also Indian team did not play well in second inning and all team out by making only 121 runs. Rishab Pant made 60 runs in 59 balls and Sunder made 38 runs in 36 balls . But performance of all team of India was poor in second inning except Pant.Virat Kohli made only 5 runs in two innings of this match and Indian fans had great expectations from that player and that player will do well in next matches, that is expected.

The main problem for the Indian team was in the batting line, as the batsmen of the Indian team could not withstand the extra pressure of the New Zealand bowling. Due to which the Indian team lost in a disappointing manner and created a losing record by losing three consecutive Test matches at home. At present, the batsmen of the Indian team are responsible for such a result of the Indian team, but in this match, even though the game was under the control of the Indian team in the last innings, the batsmen in the top batting list were aggressive and the batsmen in the top batting list were under maximum pressure. And in the last minute the Indian team collapsed after collecting 121 runs.

Yes it might have been noticed by all that India lost three consecutive Test matches against New Zealand due to their poor batting performance. We may all know that Indian batsmen are very strong and they can perform well against any strong team. Moreover, India's batting lineup is stronger than any other country in the cricket world, yet they performed worst against New Zealand. When Rishabh Pant batted for India in the second innings of the third Test match, we thought maybe India would win this match. But when he was dismissed by Ajaz Patel for 64 runs, India's chances to win of that match were greatly reduced, as a result of which they lost to New Zealand by just 25 runs till the end.
The weakest point for India was their batting line-up while their batting line-up is better than the batting line-up of the strongest teams in the world. New Zealand is a strong team in all other formats, including Tests, but if Bangladesh or any other team had performed like this instead of India, things might have been accepted. But it is hard to accept that India have lost three consecutive Test matches on Indian soil. In the third match, India had many good chances to win but India failed to capitalize on those opportunities. If they had batted in T20 style with such a small target of runs, they might have won this match but they lost this match while playing against time.

India goal was achievable but their batsmen faced tough task staying on pitch. Rishabh Pant performed exceptionally well especially after top players were dismissed early. However his nervousness took over leading to careless shots that ultimately led to his dismissal..If Pant had played more defensively India might have won game. His partnership with Washington Sundar looked promising but unfortunately they failed to seize opportunity. Pant inconsistency was costly and more controlled innings could have changed outcome in India favor. Pant potential and talent were evident but his impatience proved detrimental.
This was the first time in last 33 attempts that India failed to achieve a score under 200 while they are chasing in the last inning so as we already know we have too many records broken by New Zealand in this series due to poor quality of Indian batting and their new generation players completely fail to play average spin bowling of New Zealand because we all know India is one of the best team which can play good to spinners.

But, luck was not near India in this home series which is first time whitewashes by any team in India with it's also first time New Zealand won any series with this score but now all ended and time for looking into future instead of leaking of wounds.

Washington Sunder and Kuldeep Yadav can replace this current duo of legendary spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja after few months because it's time for having changes in team which are essential for the success in the future.

We all know that it was a difficult pitch. And moreover, batting becomes 2x tougher in the 4th inning. Still, Rishav managed to score good runs, which was really impressive to see. I think the controversial out decision was the main reason for the Indian loss. We now hope that the Indian team will go as an underdog in BGT and will aim for a clean sweep against Australia to play the WTC finals. It’s hard but still possible.

No doubt Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are world class spinners but they did took the wickets and played their part. Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets in the first innings and 5 in the 2nd innings. Along with him Washington Sundar took four wickets in the first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin also played his part and took 3 wickets in the 2nd innings. If India had won the match, then we might have Ravindra Jadeja as the player of the match as he took 10 wickets in the game.

Are you blaming the pitch alone that caused batting to be unplayable and the whole team got out at 121 Huh
Remember it was the same pitch where Rishabh Pant was batting comfortably. He made 64 in 57 balls only.

Yes it is very much known that the majority cause of this series loss for Indian team is due to their batting. Also if we only look at the last match it was not only that Indian team batted poorly but also it was not an healthy performance of batting by New Zealand team too.

New Zealand made 235 in the first innings and then making only 174 in the 2nd innings wasn't any good batting display. It is only that Indian team have lost the test, everyone is looking at thier batting performances and not really talking about the same New Zealand poor batting. We usually forget the bad performance if the team have managed to win the match somehow.

Do you really think that the Kiwis batted poorly? Remember that it was a dust bowl and spinners were having an undue advantage. On top of that, India had some of the best spinners in the world right now in their playing XI (Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja). Despite all this, New Zealand managed 235 in their first innings, with Will Young and Daryl Mitchell both getting half-centuries. And in the second innings it was the turn of Will Young to take the Kiwis to a respectable total.

I would like to say that in all the few test matches that the New Zealand team has played against India, they have performed consistently i.e. they have batted and bowled well. If we say that the New Zealand cricket team may have taken advantage of the spin bowlers against India, we should also remember that India also has the best spin bowlers. In fact, it is not possible to win a match only depending on the bowlers, the batsmen also have to perform well overall, only then it is possible to win in any match.

India need to learn from the mistakes they made against New Zealand and improve themselves so that they can perform well in the next matches.

I stand with Palestine.
Actually the target was not very important what was important was that the Indian batsmen could stay on the wicket especially Rishabh Pant did a great performance when five batsmen in the top order were beaten. Rishabh Pant could have taken the match to victory but some kind of tension inside him saved the match from defeat. He was so nervous that he played several wrong shots before getting out and if he could have spent some time being defensive instead of being aggressive, the match might not have been lost for now. Washington and Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on the wicket for quite some time but neither managed to take the match out.

Yes ,you are right. Target was not big for that match and I will give all credit of that match to New Zealand team bowlers because target was very low and in that situation they did great come back and also I will give credit to New Zealand captain because he used every weapon at perfect time . That was not an easy win against India because Indian team was at top before this series but New Zealand won the match in the India. Indian International test will focus on their mistakes and New Zealand team made a plan and executed well in this match.Patel changed the side of match by getting 6 wickets in this match. He took important wickets and played important role in this match.  He had good combination with Phillips bowler.

By the end of day 1, I predicted this match to be a win for New Zealand, and they're going to make the history of a series washout. Things didn't go according to my view because I expected that the Indian team would complete the first inning before 200 runs. But they took 263 runs, and it was a lead for India. By this time, my mind had changed, and I believed that the team India would win the match. With this loss from the home ground, the team India has played the worst cricket of this year. Rishabh Pant did the best of his ability, contributing more than half the score of the total, whereas the rest altogether have scored 45 runs as 12 runs have come as extras.
Peoples those understand cricket for long time have good view about this game as well after having defeat in first test match at Bengaluru mostly were expecting strong comeback by Indian team in second test match at the Pune but things gone against them due to their batting which was not good enough to face spinners from New Zealand and things gone for another worst defeat in test and series as well.

After lost in two matches and series then still fans of Indian team were expecting good comeback in third and final test which give good start in first day but sometime small chase having his own mark and same happen in Mumbai while India were chasing 146 and bundled out on 121 with just Pant were in good touch all others gone cheaply specially now time is up for the Kohli and Sharma to end their careers here and give chance to better quality players.

Losing in 6 innings in 3 consecutive matches might be a big blow for India. I don't know if India has ever been in such a situation. But such a disaster will definitely worry the Indian team in Test cricket. They could not advance against the New Zealand team in any way. In the other two formats of cricket, the team is considered to be the best, but in Test cricket, the Indian fans cannot accept their situation.

India's biggest disaster in this tour of New Zealand was between three cricketers. I think Rohit Sharma has done worst among the Indian batsmen he has not done well in any match. A similar situation happened with Virat Kohli. Again opener Yashasvi Jaiswal did not do well. There are also many others who have not been able to do justice to their names. Due to which the Indian team suffered a big defeat in this test series.
India cricket team has had  disappointing loss in three Test matches against New Zealand. This shows that India struggles with longer version of game. India is good at shorter formats like ODIs and T20s but Test cricket is concern. Main problem is batting lineup especially senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli who have not performed well. Young player Yashasvi Jaiswal also has not done well. India relies too much on individual talent instead of teamwork. Like I was thinking till end that India will win this match because the target was not high but India batsmen struggled and they lose wickets quickly. India Test team needs big changes to start winning again.

Team India batted well in their first innings and finished the first innings ahead of New Zealand and bowled New Zealand out in the second innings with few runs which ensured an easy target for India. But even with such an easy target, India was defeated by 25 runs in the third Test match against New Zealand. Such a good batting line-up but the Whites have lost three out of three Test matches against New Zealand. Indian fans would have forgotten about the first two matches if India could have gifted them a win in the third match but India failed there. The New Zealand team must be congratulated as they came to Indian soil and performed well against India and beat India in three consecutive matches.

India scored 263 runs in the first innings. India managed to take a small lead of 28 runs. But the performance of the Indian batsmen was not good even in the first innings. Only Gill and Pant were able to bat responsibly.

But after the New Zealand team set a target of 147 runs, perhaps no one thought that India would lose this match. Indian team could not collect only 147 runs. This is really a shame for India. India lost every match in the home series. Indian batsmen should be more diligent. For a long time we have been seeing poor performances from Indian batsmen.
Yeah, Totally disappointed performance by Indian team in this series specially in last game even they could not chase the target of 147 runs New Zealand made 174 runs in second innings and gave a lead of 146 runs to India. New Zealand bowlers successfully defend this taeget their bowlers destroyed Indian batting line up and restricted them on 121 runs New Zealand team win the last game by 25 runs and white washed Indian team in India. This is the first time in test history indian team white washed by New Zealand they lost three out of three games Indian team could win the last game if their players saved wickets and played smoothly then they chased the target of 141 runs and the momentum of not being whitewashed in India would still be maintained
It must be difficult for the fans to accept such a defeat for the Indian team because this team is one of the best teams. Even if India could not win the series against New Zealand, there was no problem at least if they could have won one match then the great team could have avoided the whitewash. This loss must be hard to accept as such a loss is unprecedented in history. But the question that is being raised by most is whether India's Test team is fully fit? Everyone I saw in the squad was the shining star of the Indian team but no one could have predicted the situation that would arise when playing against New Zealand. But no one wants to repeat such a performer anyway.

This was a tough pitch to score. This pitch was getting more tough innings after innings. New Zealand were ahead to won the toss.Though India played well there 1st innings. Subman were close to the century and Pant scored 60 as well. They have totally failed to their 2nd innings. New Zealand were not scored big on thier second innings but the batsman were failed to reach the goal. However New Zealand really played throughout the series and finally they won last and final match as well and Indian tested whitewash. As much as i know India will have a test series against Australia after this series. They must need to improve their batting side to win there. I hope they will get a lesson from here and will play better cricket on next series.
It is very simple. Indian curators once again prepared a dust bowl, thinking that New Zealand batsmen would crumble against Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. But they forgot the fact that New Zealand also have some very good spinners such as Mitchell Santner and Ajaz Patel. Both the experienced and new batsmen struggled against Kiwi spinners. Similar to what happened with Bangladesh, in the end the doctored track backfired on the Indians and New Zealand managed to whitewash the series.
I agree with your view about this series but here we have another point as I was also reading on different sites about new generation Indian batsmen are not good enough to ace spinners because few years back these guys were best in this business, but now things are taking changes, and we are having troubling time for them to face quality spinners.

I still have strong feeling New Zealand spinners are not near in quality with Indians and Sri Lankan, but they have done good job in this series and make history on Indian soil now it's time for the Indian management to have checked their domestic system for having quality batsmen those can give their best in home conditions because now Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gone, so all burden is on new generation after this BGT which will be surely not easy for them as their next biggest challenge is English tour as well.

Three wickets in just three balls was enough in the end and that's what the New Zealand players did.  But if the last wicket Washington was not aggressive and could throw a few overs with strikes, then there might have been some chance of victory.  But there too, Washington failed. Basically, it was written in India's fate that India would be whitewashed, that's why India could not beat the target of 147 runs.

I understand your point of view that only if India could have scored 25 more runs, they would not had to face the defeat. But then we can't blame Washington Sundar or Ravichandran Ashwin for not completing the game. These runs should have been scored by the Indian top order and if they failed, we cannot just put all the responsibility on bowlers to do the batting as well.

Also i think that even if the Indian team would have won this match but by losing 8 or 9 wickets, i would not call it a healthy win. Another think that India will be playing a test series against Australia from 22 of this month. Not much time is left in this series and they need to improve this batting.
