The opening batsmen of the Australian team could not make a very good score. However, at the moment, since the two experienced batsmen of the Australian team Travis Head and Steven Smith are batting, if they can make a great partnership, it will be a big score. Amazing fightback from Steven Smith and Travis Head. When Australia lost Marnus Labuschagne, they were struggling at 75/3. But these two have taken them to 136/3, and they seems well set for a 400 plus total. The issue with India is that they don't have any other wicket taker apart from Jasprit Bumrah. And unfortunately, Bumrah cant bowl 40 overs per day, as he has a long history of injuries. The other two pace bowlers - Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep are looking quite ordinary out there.

At this point, I don't think that India has a good chance of qualifying for the WTC finals. Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected for the next 4 days, so any outcome other than a draw is highly unlikely (unless the Indian bowlers are able to bowl out the Australians for two-digit totals). BTW is anyone following the match between New Zealand and England? New Zealand is having the upper hand at Seddon Park, with Will O’Rourke and Mitchell Santner at the crease when play ended on first day.

Captain of New Zealand team Tom Latham played an outstanding inning of 63 runs and kane williamson scored 44 runs, just missed his well deserved half century bu few runs short but reached New Zealand total to 300 plus runs. For New Zealand, the main concern is their bowling. Gone are the times when Neil Wagner would rip through the opposition batting lineup, with support from Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson. Wagner retired from international cricket early this year, and Boult has been focusing on franchise T20 stuff. Jamieson lost his way some time back and I don't think he will be back to national duty anytime soon. Now compared to this, batting looks stronger at least on paper. They have quality batsmen such as Kane Williamson, Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra and Tom Latham in their squad.
We have this problem consistently for New Zealand as they are losing their pacers due to serious injuries while they are having their good time currently their attack is surely not quality as we have result of two test matches in this series, but luckily they are having good results in India thanks to their spinners which are doing good job, but sadly they are not effective at home like they have done job in subcontinent.New Zealand is always having lacking quality players in cricket due to having good popularity in Rugby and Soccer which are currently having much better system they needed to work on like we have in Australia things can take good changes, and they can also achieve more success while their domestic system is also not bad.

New Zealand still have time to make their record amazing by winning every single game and do not lose hope. In the final test, they have made 315 runs with 9 wickets lost. I understand that this score is not much but still NZ needs to bowl well on the 2nd day and hope to get the England batsmen out early.
That's true mate !New Zealand scored such an impressive target of more than 300 runs. But if we elaborate on this target according to the previous record of the England team, surely this target is not difficult for the England team to catch up to. But it will be possible when england continues its previous rhythm and New Zealand bowling doesn't show any good side. Despite here is the one point that should turn the twist of the match from one side to another side which is the New Zealand bowling department. Like if their bowling department was able to dismiss England's main batter early on. i.e., Brook, stokes, pope, Root etc. So beyond any doubt, they can win the match in an easy way.
But anyway the next day will be very important for Black caps bowling because it will give them some indication about their victory, indeed, they already lost the series by a two-lead, but it can be the last chance for New Zealand to show its potential and restrict the results from a whitewash to just a two-lead.

Now that the third test match's first day has finished and I think New Zealand is doing a very good job as they started the game with a commitment to making partnerships. Already they have scored 315 but lost 9 wickets, one wicket still in hand. I think they should try to get the lead of as much runs as they are able to do because in the last match, they suffered a very bad loss which is why it is an important game for them to win and improve their record.
Mitchell Santner is on 50 and Will O’Rourke will open the game for the second day. He will have to play the majority of the bowling and make sure he gives very little exposure to O’Rourke.
English approach is totally changed into test format which is helpful for them while they are up in this series most chances we will have them full of energy for having whitewashed to New Zealand and go for another bazball game which is giving them positive results now Brook and Root both in good touch which is giving them good advantage while we have all youngsters are also contributing good for staying into good spot we will be having good next WTC cycle for them while they will have good experience and chance of keeping themselves into top spots.Mitchell Santner is on 50 and Will O’Rourke will open the game for the second day. In third test match we have good start for New Zealand as they have century stand but after this losing wickets regularly and allow English bowlers to keep them silent works for them tomorrow now we will have another good show of bazball cricket from the England which will give better view of this test match.

I can't say New Zealand's first day was very good in terms of Test matches. England are not a team that lags far behind in Test cricket. New Zealand's pitches are mostly batting friendly. 330-350 is not a big target, especially for England, on a batting friendly pitch. You have to perform better and put them under pressure if you want to win against big fishers like England. New Zealand have already crashed out of the series after losing the first two matches. I can see New Zealand getting a shameful whitewash against England.It is not possible to say anything for sure after watching the first day's play. But New Zealand could not strengthen their position after the first two matches. After the first day, it seems that the match will go on till the fourth day. If that happens, we will be able to understand the possible outcome of the match on the third day or at the end of the second day. However, I will put England ahead in the last match. New Zealand will have to perform better to win. If the bowling can do it well, New Zealand can do something good.

Today's match was stopped for a long time due to rain but now the game is going to be resumed due to the rain. Australia team had scored 28 runs before the rain came in 13.2 overs and they will definitely try to play the game. Australia team has 2 opening batsmen Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja in batting and they will definitely make a great partnership. Moreover, if Travis Head comes to bat after these opening batsmen are out, it will be even better and we will see his extraordinary century. However, if India can give a strong bowling performance in today's match, then it will be possible to put pressure on Australia.
Currently there is nothing look like Indication of match resuming after rain intruption, I think still there will be rain and may be that first day got abundant as there is no any other option. Well, the first day ended without much play. We only had a 13.2 overs game where Australia managed to collect 28 runs and the game got stopped because of the rain. Usman Khawaja looked settled, making 19 runs while Nathan McSweene playing too much cautiously making only 4 in 33 balls.
It is now basically a 4 day test match as we had one day washed out. I am not sure if we will have more interruptions in the remaining days and it there is more rain, the most probable result of this match will be a draw and that will hurt the Indian cause to reach the WTC finals.

IMO we should forget about WTC finals lol.
To play in the WTC finals, India needs to win the remaining 3 matches, which is almost impossible even if the Indian team brings their A-game because Aussies are also playing the same game.
So it's better to try to seal the series by strengthening your position session by session. Usually, rain breaks help the bowling team because bowlers get enough rest after short bursts and it could've played into India's hand but rain god had some other plans.

Indian bowlers should use these breaks in their favour and keep things tight.

I don't see any chance for New Zealand to make a comeback. New Zealand is definitely going to lose this match. We saw New Zealand's defeat in the first match as well. And it can be said for sure that New Zealand is going to lose by a big margin in the second match as well.
