The Indians almost getting close pulled off a win today! India fought back in the second session and almost close won the match in the third session. However, New Zealand deserves credit for their performance. The Kiwi batsmen fought valiantly against quality Indian spinners and were rewarded with a draw. When the game is tight and you have tail enders trying to save it under immense pressure, a couple of overs would've been helpful. Overall a good contest.

Credit for this draw goes to Ravindra and Patel without that partnership it won't be possible for NZ to draw the game. Can somebody share stats of what's the longest last wicket partnership for such draws? I guess there are not much partnerships like that AFAIK.

I think Newzealand is really lucky to even draw the match because they were dominated by the Indian bowlers. I think they were really lucky to even survive with the last wicket. But I think the last pair did well enough to defend the bonus and come out with a draw.

New Zealand is already 9 wickets down and they have to score 125 runs in 32 balls. Which is physically impossible. You're right. Since Taylor and Nicholls didn't do well in the first inning. So they should have done a little better in this innings. They could not do that. Tom Blundell scored 13 runs in the first innings off 94 balls. If you do the same in the second innings, then New Zealand will be able to draw the match.

You really can't hate this New Zealand team, nice guys and always play top notch cricket against everyone (Not Australia tho). Match is heading into last session and draw seems favorable option. Kiwis are already playing for draw, draw here is win for them. They are 4 down so India really want couple of quick wickets to make thing interesting.

India need 6 wickets and NZ need 158 runs to win, 31 overs left.

Ideally they should have wrapped up the proceedings in quick time and set a target of 120-130. If New Zealand makes atleast 60 runs by the first ten overs without wicket fall, pressure will increase on the Indian bowlers. This can help with the New Zealand keep up the play and move towards the target. India having home team advantage adds strength to them.
