5 down and India is surely in deep trouble. It all now depends on Ashwin and Iyer they both need to stick to the wicket and score runs. India needs to pass 150 if they want to win this match. Not much batting left for India if any of these two lose wickets. A very good come back by the NZ team.

Kiwis are building pressure nicely. Puji and Rahane's bad form continue at home, i think one of em is about to get drop for the next match. Kohli is coming so they need to make a spot for him and dropping Shreyas after century would be tough choice.

Bangladesh has remained where they were two decades ago, when they received the test status. There is absolutely no improvement, despite the massive population and popularity of cricket in the country (Pakistan also have similar population, but they have performed exceptionally in the last few years). One reason is that Bangladesh is overdependent on a few star players. If you take out these players, they will be at the risk of losing to associate nations. All the money being pumped in by the ICC over the years in to Bangladesh cricket has been wasted.

Bangladesh team has been struggling and when you are playing with a team like Pakistan which has performed exceptionally well in the world cup and is in high morale then you will struggle a lot. Pakistan will not have any problem in winning this match too. Unless someone from the Bangladesh side performs way beyond their existing performance, which I doubt.

Bangladesh is without experienced bowlers like Taskin Ahmed, Shakib al Hasan and Mustafizur and their younger players have failed to perform. On top of that, the Pakistan players are in excellent form. Apart from the century by Liton Das, Bangladesh so far doesn't have much to take away from this match. And remember that this is a home series for them, and the match is being played at Chattogram. If things go on like this, Bangladesh will remain as one of the lowest ranking test teams similar to Zimbabwe.

Pakshithan has scored 145 runs and has not lost any wicket yet. Bangladesh bowlers are very weak bowling. If the bowlers of Bangladesh cannot bring down these two wickets this morning, then surely Bangladesh will lose this Test match and will suffer a miserable defeat. Pakistan needs only 185 runs. Since they have not lost any wickets yet. So collecting 185 runs is not a difficult task for them.

India should be more focused on their batting without worrying about winning. It would be almost impossible for them to win the match if they could not survive at the crease in today's first session. They need a solid partnership, and they need to collect 250 runs in the second innings. Only then will they be able to provide a good target to win.

India has already lost one wicket and if they want to win this match they need a solid partnership. In my opinion a score of 250 and above by the Indian team will surely win this match. A lot of cricket still left to play but absolutely stunning balling by Axar Patel once again

The spinners were able to dominate the third day and if India scores above 200 runs then there is no way New Zealand will be able to face Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel in the final two days. Prepared spin wickets resting all the main players and it looks like a good plan as they already wanted to give rest to their main players and still win the match .

New Zealand messed up big-time after that huge first innings partnership. The Indian spinners dismantled them and India is already leading by 63 runs though they lost Gill early which is a setback for them.

Jamieson and Southee are the key bowlers to watch out for. If India manage a lead of 200+ runs, this game will either end as a draw or India winning. Let's see if NZ can turn this one around.

Axar Patel only played 3 Test matches before this and he performed exceptionally well in those opportunities picking up 27 wickets at an average of 10.59 and in this match he picked up another 5 wickets in the first innings and expect him to pick wickets in the second innings as well as the pitch will help the spinners more.

With the opening partnership New Zealand had i thought they would reach a good total, but now the game has skipped them as it will be difficult for them to bat in the last innings with three spinners India is having.

That's what we call a true champion bowler. What an outstanding performance from Axar Patel. What a superb effort for his fourth test. Axar Patel's performance surprised me and I had no idea India would come back this way. In the end, India's bowlers did a great job as they limited New Zealand under 300, now India in the driving seat.

I expected New Zealand to score big and possibly get a first innings lead, but the spinners halted the momentum and they were able to restrict New Zealand by picking up wickets at constant intervals and now it is the turn for New Zealand to bowl well and restrict India as anything more than 250 runs will be difficult to chase for New Zealand with the spinners they have.

Let's go by modern standard. In modern times quickest bowler to reach 50 wickets is Vernon Philander (7 match). He also took all wickets at SENA condition, 1 opponent was Sri Lanka. Speaking of spin friendly wicket, you might want to check legendary spinner Shane Warne record in India particular. You might lose respect for him after checking his numbers.

I can go on this list for like 1 full page but i hope you got the point. If we're following this logic then Don Bradman is also average batter because he never batted in Subcontinent and virtually never faced a quality spinner in spin friendly wickets.

Coming back to your tough opposition and minefield argument. Seems biased opinion to me because for some weird reason SENA countries fast friendly pitches are considered good and spin friendly wickets in subcontinent are considered bad.

BTW Kyle Jamison only played at NZ and England only (including 2 match each against Pakistan and WI, ended up with 26 wickets in 4 games). This is his first game in India.
Axar Patel played against only England at home (3 tests) and NZ is the second team.

Great comeback from Indian bowlers. I thought New Zealand will be able to take a big lead in the first innings, but all of their batsman failed to make a good runs except the two openers. Now the match is again in the control of India. Although they lost an early wicket in the second innings, but they have the ability to set a good target. Everything will depend on the Indian bowlers in the second innings. Tomorrow is the fourth day of this test, and this game may end with the drama of final day.

Axar Patel played all of his matches in the minefields of sub-continent, which supports spin bowling. His 4 test matches were played in - Chennai, Ahmedabad (x2) and Kanpur. I am not denying the fact that Jamieson also played most of his matches in SENA region, but he has played against tough opposition all the time. He is yet to play any test matches against weaker teams like Sri Lanka or Bangladesh. Don't know.. but I would be rather cautious before claiming that Axar is a better bowler. Let's see how he performs outside India.

Almost everyone say that test cricket is tough but 2 new guys Axar Patel and Kyle Jamieson are having amazing time when playing red ball cricket and if you ask them then they might end up saying nah, its pretty easy.  

Axar Patel : Playing his 4th test match and already took 32 wickets with 5 fifers.
Kyle Jamieson : 9th match and touched 50 wickets, fastest NZ bowler to take 50 wickets.

They were 4 runs short of 300 and india has now lead of 51 runs. The match is now very much interesting, if India can play score 350 runs till second session of forth day and allow NZ to play one session of forth day plus fifth complete day then India has very much chance of winning the match IMO. NZ are very much out of the game now.

India went down to bat and lost one of their key batsmen by just two runs. Shubman Gill returned to the dressing room with just 1 run. In the first innings, he played a crucial innings of 52 runs. So I thought he would do well in the second innings. And today India will not lose any wicket. At the end of the third day, India 14/1. India is leading by  63 runs.
