All done and dusted. South Africa blown away for just 111 runs in their second innings after their two digit total in the first. This time Tim Southee Picked up 5 wickets, while Matt Henry finished with a match total of 9. Neil Wagner and Kyle Jamieson also picked up crucial wickets. South African batting resembled like an amateur club side, and their bowling wasn't much better either. And New Zealand did all this without some of their key players such as Trent Boult, Adam Milne, Glenn Phillips and Kane Williamson.

This is the worst performance from Protease in New Zealand in last 90 years as they completely fail and all out on 95 with now New Zealand is having massive lead of 387 last tenth wickets done good damage with partnership of 94 runs.
Tom Blundell missed his century and almost all the players played well. South Africa is struggling in the second innings as well as they already lost 7 wickets for 97 runs and this will be another record for them as they will be loosing by a huge margin. They outplayed the hyped up India but New Zealand is exposing their batting weakness Cheesy.

South Africa needs to find some good batsman to replace their legendary players of the past, if not it will be pathetic situation to see them struggle against all the teams

As of now, New Zealand is leading by 230 runs. They are the WTC champions and this was expected from them. South Africa put up some resistance against India at home, but they literally got blown away and shredded to pieces in New Zealand. Once again, proves that the gap between the pig-4 and the remaining test nations is getting wider. And the irony is that the New Zealand team includes several players who had to leave South Africa because of the quota system, such as Neil Wagner and Devon Conway.

Brilliant batting from Nicholls, Blundell and Henry now in second inning South Africa again in deep trouble with 34 for 3 with Elgar and Markarm both gone right now last hope Dusan and Buvma on crease but most chances this match is going to end on third day with an inning win for current WTC champions New Zealand a great win for their in second edition of WTC even recently South Africa done good job at home against India but here they are badly struggling.

I really don't see South Africa making a comeback in this match. The first inning collapse will hurt them throughout the match unless something magical happens, and they bowl out New Zealand in the second innings for something around a hundred.
But I don't see that happening because the pitch is becoming more batting-friendly as the days go by.

South Africa recently beat India in Test and ODI so we can't say big 4 are way ahead of other countries in terms of cricket quality. This match is very much over as NZ now leading by 300 runs with one wicket still in hand. It's day 2, so we must have result of this game.

South Africa is all out for 95 runs, i was not aware it was a Test match and New Zealand is already leading by 101 runs and there is no chance for a comeback by South Africa in this match because of their pathetic performance in the first innings. Matt Henry took 7 wickets and that is his best performance till date and this is just the second day and it looks like the match will be over by the 4th day.

South Africa experienced similar play with the first match of the previous series against India. In that match it didn't perform as worse as this innings. After losing the first test against India, South Africa managed to win the rest of the test matches and won the series. Maybe from the next match South Africa could make a strong recovery. Anyhow this match has gone into the hands of New Zealand and there is very thin chance for a draw.

The pitch isn't entirely green today, and it is detectable from the outfield as well. The pitch condition isn't so bad. Actually, South African players has shown some poor performance today. Although New Zealand has lost their first three wickets, but they are at the front seat of the match now. They will win the match for sure if the rain doesn't interrupt in the game.

Yes I too saw the pitch in highlights and its not totally lush green. Also pitch is same for both teams. IMO ICC must have some regulations on making pitches, every country make pitches according to there own standards. Thats why a team performing well in test at home series totally collapsed when it travel to some other country.

Welcome back 🙏
The pitch is absolutely green and it's absolutely true that the pitch is hard to separate from the outfield. This is absolutely nowhere near to the ideal pitch where cricket should be played.

This is a bowling pitch. It is easy to assume that such a pitch will help the bowlers. The South African batsmen should have batted more carefully. They made a mistake and lost all their wickets for just 95 runs. New Zealand lost 3 wickets and scored 116 runs. The match is under the complete control of New Zealand. A few days ago, New Zealand defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 117 runs in this field.
An amazing bowling performance by newzealand specially matt henry who toll 7 wickets just for 23 runs. It included some poor batting from south africa. Yes it was a bowling pitch but getting out for 95 runs is not accpetable. Atleast they should have reached the target of 200. Now the match is fully in control of newzealand side.
And we might see this match end in even 3 days.

LOL.. anyone watching the ongoing New Zealand vs South Africa test match? Kiwis prepared a minefield to welcome the Proteas and the latter got blown away for just 95 runs. Matt Henry picked up 7 for 23, while the other three pacers got one wicket apiece (Tim Southee, Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner). When it comes to pace bowling, there is simply no competition to New Zealand. They are the best right now, and that too by a considerable distance. Reminds me of the Aussie attack two decades back, when they had McGrath and Lee.
SA performed very well in there recent series against India they won both ODI and Test series. But they collapsed here and played just 2 sessions of Day 1, Zubayr Hamza was top scorer as he made 25 runs. NZ are in command now and odds are definitely in there favour.
In my interval of around an hour after the toss had taken place, not only was SA's batting collapsed, but NZ is in command as well. NZ had some great spells, but I missed them. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I believe it's impossible to tell the pitch from the outfield at Hagley Oval. Winning the toss and getting the other team out is the goal. Afterwards, bat on Days 2, 3 and wear the opponents down, and you'll have a winner (home team)

Looking at the pitch I think we all knew what is going to happen and I think we all got our answer. South Africa was absolutely deleted by the bowling of New Zealand and now NewZealand has a firm grip on the match.

I think this is absolutely outrageous for the neutral party who are trying to enjoy a good cricket match. They just made the pitch for bowling and luck was on their side.

Because they won the toss and sent South Africa to batting. And as expected, South Africa got stomped on. And we all know that the pitch is going to settle down a bit later and South Africa is not going to get the help that New Zealand got.

Dark green pitch lol Watched only 15 mins of gameplay, apart from kiwis performance so far.
I was more surprised that Amazon also jumping into cricket streaming. Have to say it was nice experience, they also broadcasted NZvsBAN game in the past. I thought it was one time thing but i guess no, they are exploring new territory.

South Africa got absolutely deleted on the first day. They have been bowled out for only 95 runs. And that also happened under 50 overs. New Zealand is already ahead by 21 runs and they have 7 wickets in hand.
It is a good thing that Amazon decided to stream cricket matches. This is going to be really beneficial for them in my opinion. Both from viewers and money-making points of view.

I wasn't able to see the match so far, so don't know whether it's pitch of NZ actually bowled well. It's first time since 1932 that SA were bowled out on total of less then 100. While Richard Hadlee was the third NZ bowler with highest wickets in an innings after Ajaz Patel and Richard Hadlee.

Abdul Qadir, Saqlain Mushtaq, Saeed Ajmal and Danish Kaneria are few name comes to my mind. Qadir and Mustaq were very good and last 2 guys also peaked for quite some time but disappeared for some reasons. In modern times Yasir Shah is my fav pakistani spin bowler but i can't see him anywhere nowadays and he seems to get into limelight due to some shady business irl.
There are few names missing from your list because I also have some information about Pakistan cricket history and there are few very good spinners even their careers were not long and have the good number of games due to internal politics but still their contribution was amazing, and they have very good time with team.

Intikhab Alam regarded as legendary spinner and done very good for team even after retirement after this we have Abdul Qadir, Iqbal Qasim and Tauseef after these three we have Mushtaq Ahmad and Saqlain Mushtaq and then Danish Kaneria and Saeed Ajmal currently we have Yasir Shah and recently man done very good job in Bangladesh Sajid Khan even these all are not good Indians but still done very good job.
