As a result of the injury he suffers in his back, Sohaib Maqsood will not be a member of Pakistan's T20 World Cup squad. Although Malik might be most likely replacement, I'm happy with the changes in the squad. Pakistanis might be happy with the replacement because Malik has been in supreme form and he is the obvious choice.

That's quite a blow for Pakistan cricket team. The performance of Sohaib Maqsood in national T20 tournament going on in Pakistan was very impressive. He is replaced by experienced Shoaib Malik, so I think it will not hurt Pakistan much. All eyes are on match b/w Pakistan and India on 24 Oct 2021. Lets see what comes out of it.
Even it's a big below, but I am feeling it's good as now Pakistan have services of veteran Shoaib Malik he is also one of the best player for this format recently he touches magic figure of 11,000 runs in this format and only third in this list who achieve this landmark.
Now Pakistan have four changes in their squad which was announced for twenty/20 world cup all are much better and experienced players even I am not hopeful about better future of this team in this tournament but as many know Pakistan is very unpredictable team and can change things very unusually by their own on their day let's watch now what they have in their basket for this Mega Event which is going to start in just few days.

I think PCB and cricket fans are tired of Pakistan players loosing abroad and they wanted to see them play in their home turf and you cannot blame them and their level of cricket is going down over the years and they were not able to find young talents that could replace their star players they had in their past. If they want to see cricket again they need to convince the global community that they are safe to travel.

There record in uae is historic, they have beaten Aus , Eng , NZ there. If I m not wrong they have won 8 consecutive T20 series at uae. Don't know why you saying they are done losing abroad. If you follow cricket, Pakistan is always know to be unpredictable and they have still a decent side for T20 WC.
To the second part, they already have conducted so many series with Sri, RSA, ZIM,WI at home. Still big 3 think it's not safe to tour Pak.

I read somewhere that NZ might consider playing in Pakistan in 2022. I am not sure whether it will happen or not but to convince the world to come and play in their home ground PCB needs to put more effort. 50 per cent of their revenue comes from ICC and everyone knows ICC makes money from bigger boards. They need to start performing in the ICC tournament and then these boards might consider playing with them in Pakistan. Let's see how they perform in the upcoming WT20 cup.

After they pulled out of the tour in such a dramatic fashion, I don't think that the NZC would consider touring Pakistan anytime soon. And unlike the case with the ECB, the decision to cancel the tour was taken by the government, and not by the cricket board. So they need permission from the government first, before they can issue any statement on their proposal to tour Pakistan. The officials of ECB and NZC have been making some vague statement in recent days, but these statements don't have much relevance unless they are approved by the respective governments.

I guess PCB and cricket fans are done watching there home series abroad. Also PCB officials have clearly said that abroad series are total loss for them. PCB and Pak fans must start doing some lobbing to bring cricket back in the country rather then coursing BCCI all the time.

Pakistan tour cancellation is getting serious attention in England. Earlier ECB formally apologizes PCB for tour cancellation and said that they will do everything to tour Pakistan next year. Cricket Fans in Pakistan may expect England team coming soon.

Soon? No chance. ECB has announced that they may "consider" touring Pakistan in 2022, but that looks very unlikely given the security situation in that country. Pakistan is back to the position where they were after the attack on Sri Lankan team happened. And to tour Pakistan is not, will be decided by the British government. It is not the sole decision of the ECB. If the British government issues a directive against the tour, do you really think that the ECB will ignore it and agree to tour Pakistan?
You're this statement is completely wrong and pointing out typical Indian thinking about Pakistan. Because we all have updates there was nothing order from Government about this tour this was just happened because of IPL as many players was involved in this, and they have done some trick with big money. Just because of this now you can check many changes happening even different statements coming but now here situation is not like as we have after attack on Sri Lanka now it's much better and secure just few channels on Social Media creating hype which is nothing new because it's happening from Indian side for many decades, and they are taking advantage of big country even many times they fail, but recently it's successful for them as USA's defeat is also counting in this game as well. Indians also crying because they lost billions of USD and the base camps in Afghanistan after many decades.

There is no British government involvement in the cancellation of the tour, but the ECB is solely responsible. All things are being cleared by the British government. However, the statement from the ECB is difficult to understand. Yes, security was a concern for a few years, but you can't bring it up every time there is no evidence to support it. Pakistan did its utmost to make it work, but its efforts were totally ignored. I am hoping to see this bilateral match shortly since I am a big cricket fan. Whatever the case may be, Pakistani fans are used to accusing BCCI of all these problems. It's truly disappointing to see people constantly blaming BCCI. Hope this isn't what the public perceives.
Right now we have no problem with security or anything first we have some clear statement from ICC as they can do anything which help this cricket or no because if they are not able to do anything then better please shut their shop and enjoy with other stuff don't waste our another's time. Cricket is game and handle this like other many sports organizations handling properly this big 3 or powerful boards logic is never been going to help anyone. As we have no serious bilateral series in next few months due to covid or some other issues, they need to sit and talk about better future of game and stop this politics.

aybe in Q1 or Q2 2022, they can organize one or two bilateral series involving teams like Bangladesh or Sri Lanka and show that the country is now safe for cricket. But if it is not possible, then they need to shift the matches to UAE.

They have successfully organized bilateral series with Sri lanka, Bangladesh, South Afriac and Zimbabwe at home but it all turns out to be useless when it comes to home tour of Big three plus CNZ. So I don't think this will work.

For the remainder of this year, Pakistan doesn't have any home series. Maybe in Q1 or Q2 2022, they can organize one or two bilateral series involving teams like Bangladesh or Sri Lanka and show that the country is now safe for cricket. But if it is not possible, then they need to shift the matches to UAE. There is no point in fighting with the other boards, when they don't have enough support from the other ICC members. Anyway, ECB's statement is positive. So let's see whether they keep their word or not.

The major reason Ian Watmore was forced to step down i think is because he was not able to fulfill his role and satisfy all the counties as they were asking for a two year domestic schedule and he failed in that aspect and the counties have a much larger bargaining power and it looks like the pressure has got the better of Ian Watmore and if it was a normal situation and if there was no pandemic he should have done a better job i believe.

Now in Pakistan no one thinking about England because it's already past looking for better future which is surely good point. Few boards already agree for touring Pakistan, but now first big event is twenty/20 world cup. Hopefully after this we will have some better news about few events and bilateral series. Even now I am feeling Aussies will also withdraw because they are also one of the best beneficiary from IPL, and they are also under some good influence of BCCI but right now all is just predictions geopolitical can change as we have resignation from ECB chairman so may be few good news will happen for Pakistani cricket fans in near future.
Right now big talk is hanging around Ashes as discussion is going on for this and CA is hopeful for this tour despite England players have few concerns just because of Covid-19 restrictions.

I guess IPL has taken over everything that's why we are having IPL discussion in Test Cricket thread.

Exactly it has taken over our mind Grin Look what it has done to everyone here we forgot there is a thread dedicated to T20 cricket. I am pretty much sure everyone knows about that thread but we are so much stuck in IPL that we have forgotten everything.

That is what is brand value. Please stop discussing about IPL on this thread.

Well.. hardly anyone cares about test cricket these days. In the recent times we had too many meaningless bilateral tours. Personally I don't care about test matches unless big three teams (+NZ) are playing each other. The quality of other test teams have gone down the drain. Anyway, the Ashes is around the corner and hopefully it can reignite some interest in this format of cricket. But poor form of the Australian players (including Steve Smith) is a concern for me. There is a good chance that this time the Ashes will be one sided.
Well you started this IPL discussion by bringing big bad boy in thread. There is no test cricket going around so its fine but i would never say that " Hardly anyone cares about test cricket" I'll post detail data in near future (When in mood) ofc it would be related big 3, which majority of us agree including on bilateral fixtures.

Ashes is about to renamed as " The Bitches" although sare pagal ho rakhe hai aaj kal ki yeh series hogi ya nahi.

It is already happening but the frequency is less. Countries are cancelling bilateral series because players are interested in playing IPL. Things will get worsen in the future and if you take a player's point of view they are earning more in playing in such tournaments than playing for their country.

It's not just the players. You are forgetting the fact that the board is also benefiting from the IPL. Take the case of WICB for example. Every year, they receive around $1.25 million from the IPL management as foreigner release fee. This is comparable to the revenues they have from an average bilateral tour against a non-big 3 country. And the catch here is that for the payment from IPL, there is no expense from the side of the WICB. On the other hand, bilateral tours hardly leave anything as surplus, after the expenses.

Indian stock market indices have grown by almost 4 times since 2010. It may not be a right comparison, but gives an indication of how fast wealth was created in India during the last few years. I haven't visited India since the pandemic started, so have no idea about the situation on ground. Maybe you are right. But even ₹4,000 crore per team would be massive for the BCCI. This is more than the amount they received in 2008, by auctioning 8 teams. But if 10 teams are there, then they need to increase the duration as well, right? Right now it is 14 matches per team, which will increase to 18 if there are a total of 10 teams.
Right now ground realities are not good but still we have one thing surely rich is going more rich and poor is poorer BCCI is also going more rich as more teams more money they have no issue with this time even it's going from 14 to 18 because all under their own control. ICC will have some more from this extra income, mean all is good.

As it's going I am feeling in near future we will have situation same like Soccer, mostly Leagues will work and countries will have matches during breaks only because Leagues are more profitable than International matches. Hopefully this will bring some better change in all cricket playing nations.
