Rain interruption is having a more disruptive role in international cricket nowadays, compared to the situation we had a few decades back. Climate change may be one of the reasons. ICC needs to look in to this issue and find a solution which is acceptable to all. One of the solutions would be to stage more matches in countries such as UAE and Australia, where the chances of rain interruption are low.

Forecast is not good for next few days so only this is good thing going in Pakistan favour other all things going against them Rizwan is doing good job until even 223/9 is not good but still some manageable I am really upset with Azhar Ali Asad Shafiq after playing lots of matches still doing same mistakes matter of shame for them.

They are not very far from 200 mark so they should reach there and try to push for extra 10-15 runs, it would give some fighting chance to their bowlers. Conditions are good for seamers here and Pakistan pace battery can do some damage for sure.

Rizwan batting on 23 and trying to stay on the pitch, Afridi on zero. What happened to Pakistan batting today. I do not think they will be able to score 200 if wickets keep falling like this.

+1 yeah old timers were not great athletes but almost everyone had good pair of hands, especially when guarding slips and we don't see many good catchers there nowadays.  

Rohit is good slip fielder but lazy when out of the circle. Ishant well he's disappointment when chasing a ball.

I got these stats from sports star magazine as there was a world cup review edition during that time (was moving and cleaning everything as i am shifting my home and found a bunch of old magazines) and when i watched that i saw many dropped catches and i used to wonder i rarely see these butter hands in the past and the most famous missed catches actually costed them the world cup in the past, like Herschelle Gibbs dropping Steve Waugh and literally the world cup in 1999 and actually Gibbs was throwing the ball in the air to celebrate and not actual butter hands like we see today but it slipped and that cost them the world cup and then the famous 1992 world cup when Imran Khan himself promoted himself to motivate the team and he was really lucky that he got a life in the form of dropped catch and then went on to score the highest score for the team and winning the world cup.

But if you take a look at 54 dropped catches in the entire 2019 world cup, the standard of catching has gone down tremendously and every match you will see dropped catches which we rarely see in the past and there was a time when South African fielding standards were a benchmark to the world but now they do not have that standard and they missed many catches but if you compare the past strangely India just missed one catch in the 2019 World cup edition and the fielding and fitness has improved tremendously. The butter hands in the team are Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma .

Pakistan was bit lucky and rain is their only ally so far.

Pakistan once again have cracked under pressure just like the last test match. Every time they look like being in a good strong position they then lose quick wickets which then gives all the momentum to the other team and in sports its hard to turn it around when the other team has all the momentum. Lucky for Pakistan that rain came however I don't think it will stop England from winning the match, I'm hoping I'm wrong and Pakistan come out on day two and show some fight.

The fielding standards and fitness have gone up from the past decade but there is a lack of catching skills and all the teams were dropping catches every match and in the last World Cup Pakistan alone dropped 14 catches and England dropped 10 catches and a total of 54 catches dropped in a single world cup in 2019 by all the teams.

From a good second wicket partnership Pakistan completely lost the plot loosing 4 wickets in quick succession.

Yea Pakistan team management is doing very poor work they have no home work for this serious and doing just experiment with person who is not eligible for leading team from front may be I wrote this before that now Pakistan is going to face whitewash because after first test England is not going to give any chance just rain can help Pakistan from this all.

England are destroying Pakistan at the moment by the looks of things. Pakistan had a great chance to win the 1st test, but threw it out the window thanks to sloppy batting in the 2nd innings. The English bowlers are having a gala time out in the middle.

Every bowler picked up at least 1 wicket and they might wrap up Pakistan within 230 at this rate. Only rain can save Pakistan now in my opinion.

Very usual score card for Pakistan team nothing special just Abid Ali with two lifelines out on 60 and now we have Babar Azam on crease hopefully he will give some support and we will able to touch figure between 230 to 250 because its very important if we want some interesting cricket in next few days otherwise England will give tough lesson with an inning defeat.

Luck seems to be favoring him so why not, he should cash this opportunity and turn his score into 3 digit. Although he is looking very ugly on some occasion.

Very unfair..... you dropped Abid ali twice and not giving skipper any chance, WTF. 

Masood in first test first inning two lifelines and 150+ runs now same for Abid Ali he need to stay on and give some good runs because in England this luxury is not for all its just for very few peoples in first hour both teams doing good England surely in control if they have one catch from two drops.

English slip fielders showing some extraordinary talent by dropping sitter today  . They already gave Abid Ali 2 chances at slip. Abid Ali now need to play good knock for his team, not everyday you gets 2 lifelines in the test cricket.

@JSRAW I totally agree with you as I too don’t think that Pakistan can score more than 300 or 350 runs, in the first innings. Further some interesting changes by England as they have dropped Stokes, and Pakistan should try and make the most of this opportunity as without Stokes England is weaker in my personal opinion. Lastly if few more wickets fall early on in the innings, then Pakistan may find it very difficult to bounce back in the first innings.

Pakistan won the toss, choose to bat and have already lost 1 wicket for only 6 runs. Shah Masood LBW by Anderson for 1. Very bad start hopefully they recover and do not lose more wickets.

Now we are just minutes away from Second test and Pakistan won toss elect to bat right now weather is hot and good for batting England make two changes Ben Stokes and Archer gone Zak and Curran in and Pakistan giving chance to Fawad Alam after nearly 11 years he is playing in place of Shadab Khan.

400+ runs? We should be honest to ourselves  . Pakistan failed to cross even 350 mark in the first game and they were in strong position.

Well all the momentum is with England after coming back and winning the first test. Pakistan did show that they can play well but they need to work on maintaining good form in matches and not let the pressure get to them which then leads to batting collapses.
