England should easily win this match. 277 is not a big target and one or two big partnerships can make the match more in favor of England.
If they can bat the first 50 overs with only 1-2 wickets down, that would be a dream start for them.

England are looking favorite now. The captain Root and Sibley are playing very sensibly and England are slowing cursing towards the target without losing any more wickets. Although England did not played well in the first innings but they have dominated in the 2nd innings bowling and batting.

England definitely fancying their chance now, pretty disappointing with the Pakistani batsmen in the second inning. Yasir Shah added some valuable runs in the end , which is useful and thanks to 100+ lead, 277 runs target is not bad on 4th inning if you are defending but Pakistan's problem is England has almost 180 overs to achieve this target. However this Pakistan bowling lineup is good and has potential to bowl out England team but let's hope they step up for their team one more time and more importantly fielders supporting them by not dropping any chances.

This is nothing new because we have history of matches like this for Pakistan I will try to post here few links of matches which Pakistan lost as they was dominating and all lost in just one session one against New Zealand and one against Sri Lanka this is nature of Pakistan cricket we have some very talented players but sadly never develop them as good finishers which is nightmare for us.

Edit: 2.4 overs and 32 runs what a start for Pakistan now England need 277 runs to win this first test really interest end of this match is waiting for us.

@onrise yea anything can happen in this game, because if you see the last few series of England’s Test matches, then you’ll observe that they have lost the opening match in all those series. However I’m yet not feeling confident to wager on Pakistan, because if England player’s don’t loose wickets early in their innings, then they will definitely win this game as they have a strong batting lineup.

Unless there is major rain interruption, there is zero chance for a draw. The match can go either way, but enough time remains to rule out a draw. The target for England can be anywhere between 250 and 300, and 6 sessions of play remain (approx. 180 overs). Stokes is in form, and therefore I would still say that England is having a slightly higher chance here.

The tables have turned again, yesterdays match proves how inconsistent the Pakistani team is. A win-win situation was destroyed by a horrible batting from the Pakistani side. Awesome comeback by the English team. I feel this match will end in a draw.

Pakistan already lost 8 wickets and they have a lead of 244 runs and that means they need to score another 31 runs with 2 wickets remaining which is a hard task if the fast bowlers are operating in the morning and i will be surprised if they are able to take a lead of 260 runs and with two days left England could win the match but i expect a tightly contested match.

The thing that surprised me is that Ben Stokes was injured and he was in the team solely as a batsman and since he got out for a duck he took the ball in the second innings and took a couple of wickets.

Yes today after watching match now I am feeling English bowlers was not good enough its just Pakistani batsmen doing same mistakes and giving easy wickets to them for some terrible end of this test match for them if they able to have 30 to 35 more runs then surely its going to be good contest otherwise its going to be very good for England.

Right now England doing very good and fighting back for win in this first test match of series bowlers already have their all on and Pakistan lost 7 wickets and 135 runs on board which is not good but still English batting line up need to show some guts for winning this match as now pitch is not good and spinners can steal the show.

Currently Pakistan is in very strong position but they still need some good runs on board for win because less then 300+ target is not good for them and they can lost this match now Azhar and Abid need to stay on for some time and then Babar and Asad also give some good support for win less then 300 target is really interesting for both but if Pakistan want to win this match and take lead in this series then surely 300+ is ok for them.
