It's not going to happen, not even $10,000 in plenty of years. We might be lucky if we'll see the price go to $2000 as max ATH, which isn't that unreasonable after we manage to get more investor money on board. But at this point it's a million miles away  Wink

Just quoting this old post, well guess what, it even reached $19,000 ATH just before the year ends. I really think there's nothing impossible with bitcoin. Since bitcoin price depends on market demand, and bitcoin is becoming mainstream these days, I really think that bitcoin price can still grow.

at this time it is not impossible that happened to see BTC development every year very rapidly increase.
I think the way to that point will happen in the next 5 or 10 years.
Every good and new things takes time to happen and as now people are getting aware about bitcoin and they are showing their keen interest towards bitcoin I am very sure this is going to happen very soon and bitcoin will be more than one million dollar just in 2 or 4 years and it will be the right time when people will be proud of their investment and they will be happy for sure.
Just this year, the price of Bitcoin has increased its value more than 18,000%. This percent is impossible for any normal asset, but Bitcoin did that and proved it is not weak. However, I advise others should consider for the target for Bitcoin in 2018, because the bubble of Bitcoin can be burst anytime.

For 1 Bitcoin to be worth $1,000,000, the total market cap of Bitcoin would have to be $21 trillion dollars. What are the odds of this happening?

For reference, the amount of physical $dollars and coins in circulation are around $1.2 trillion. The global M2 money supply of all currencies are around $45 trillion. The market cap of all mined gold is around $7 trillion.

Will 1 Bitcoin be worth a million dollars? Half a million? Thoughts?

Yes it could happen, if it becomes huge and used worldwide in trading and financial businesses, for interest towards bitcoin I am very sure this is going to happen very soon. Bitcoin is always thought as million dollar dream by many of the crypto users in the community
Yes, everything can be happen, the current price of Bitcoin proved the world always has surprise. It made many people regret and wish to back the past (included me haha). However, 1 Million Dollar is not a small amount. We should to imagine the reason can make the price of Bitcoin increase to this value, maybe, it is related the world's economy.

in few months. the bitcoin has rises much price and that is not expected by everyone. if bitcoin is not expected to get a million dollars or half. i think it is not impossible to get it in a year. if bitcoin will continue the way it was happening right now. the bitcoin will reach that possibly

I have to admit, I though there would be a crash at 3000, 5000, 10000,.......back to 1/2 or 2/3 of value.....I am now well just wondering where the top is? 50K, 70K?Huh? I really don't know......anymore.....

longer term 1ook and 1M is inevitable. However 2 ~ 3 massive crashes in between with 1000's of BTC is dead stories, which will just concetrate the people who HODL.

it could happen maybe, in the very unlikely scenario that all major fiat currency will collapse and everyone is forcing to adopt bitcoin in some way

only the massive usage of bitcoin, on a planetary scale can lead to an impressive value like that

I agree, for bitcoin to achieve an extraordinary feat such as reaching a million dollar per coin would not be impossible but would require a majority of support from users, services and retailers all throughout the globe to do it.
Success does not happen overnight, actually we are here because of the increasing demand and bitcoin is getting more popular
so it's possible to reach that level, the only question now is when but I can tell you it will not happen in a year.

i think this will not be a problem, all of us here agree that bitcoin can reach 1 million usd, probably in the next couple of years or maybe even earlier, the boost in the value of bitcoin today is not due to any hypes or any news saying that bitcoin is a great investment, well it is, as i can see more and more people are shifting into cryptocurrency and it is not anymore FOMO, it is due to the fact, people had already tried investing in bitcoin and realizing that it is never too late to invest in bitcoin and is gaining more and more trust, and i think they do not listen anymore to people saying that bitcoin is just a bubble.

Well, this rumor will turn to be true and I think John Mccafee has the similar thinking that it could be that price by the year 2020 and I think even if that span never meet but I know that $1M point will come to be true. I know that point has lot to come through but it could be possible to be true. The only question remains if that height will be achieved how many bitcoin holders would dump before it hits? Hope thay whales wouldn't have to because the little fish would gonna be off-shore after they breached.

if for $ 1000000 most likely in my mind will not happen because in my opinion it is a very big value and certainly to get it will be really really difficult though getting 1 coin only
That is not possible but maybe after a decade or less, let us see what will happen in the next coming months because it is hard to predict the value of the bitcoin for now after how many years, but base of my research they said bitcoin could be a million dollar worth in the future that is why we should patiently hold what we have now.
You do not need to be fast, slowly always safe than fastly when we are working. Especially when we need to decide something can make us lose or earn money as trading or investment, it is very important and can make our life change much.

Difficult to say right now. But with your figures, it would have been better to share the source of these information so we can better discuss how it compares to bitcoin.

Hm, isn’t thats too far fetched. I mean just now I was taking over one of the thread where the guy speculated the prices of 500K USD by 2020. Thats also too much off the chart. Te first thing we must know is, we need to achieve the bigger market capitalism. As you are assuming here that the market cap should be over trillion dollars then just ask yourself whether it is really possible with limited number of people that are into crypto currencies. Not every single person here gets involved into bitcoin at the first glance. They will always look forward to invest into other cheap currency, get the profits and leave the market. There are very less percentages of people who actually hold major amounts of the coins and thus keeping the market of bitcoin held at one limit but its not much to capture the prices of 1 million per bitcoin.

Based for the statistics you pointed out, I am convinced now that one bitcoin will never be worth as much as one million dollar, except of course if the dollar became a banana coin with hyper-inflation making its value close to nothing.

Yup it is true, bitcoin is always thought as million dollar dream by many of the crypto lovers in the community. But I always wonder how it could even reach the hallmark of 1 trillion also in the first place. Juts look at the current cap its around 200 B and we still have the prices of 10K (almost) So getting to that much high rates would need almost 50% of population the earth to invest into bitcoin. If they are convinced to do so in the next decade or so then there will also be few percentage of chance that we will be able to cover that much money or market cap. Now I'm very much doubtful that 500 billion people are going to trust bitcoin in first place and will put the money straight into it. So lets see we have the correct mathematics here but what we need is tremendous support and enormous growth in the crypto lovers community.
