Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
@Huerisitic you planning to watch the X league or whatever it's called?  Did  you pay close attention to it last year?  If so..was it worthwhile or...

Yeah. I'll watch it but i'm not into any of the teams but it is interesting to see the teams and players that raise to the top when they all started at the bottom a few years ago. Especially the coaching of one team has been heads an shoulders above the others and they have dominated since the xfl came back. but now that fox bought them I expect it to slide into a off season nothing burger but hopefully I will be proven wrong. According to some news articles, the Jets and mr. immunized Aaron Rodgers have made an agreement to not return with the team next season. What team does everyone speculate he might play for the next season or will retire?

I'm gonna go with Retires. He did not help the Jets in any way. Just sideshow after sideshow. Like, would they have done worse with some random QB2 or a rookie? Probably not.

Speaking of sideshows, what are the odds that Taylor Swift will stay together with Travis Kelce through the off-season, or that Kelce will retire, for that matter?

I think Kelce and Swift end up married man. He will likely retire and start supporting her more on tour and at the awards shows, she's his next superbowl. He has been pretty distracted during the last season and I think he knows it, at this point he is just hurting his team more than anything. Cheifs have over 20 free agents I believe as well and they will be looking to free up some cap space. Retirement and off into the sunset is the move.

Agreed Nut, a lot of people don't realize he's older than Gronk.  If you didn't know that, then it really sinks in.  Man it's crazy the amount of shit he's been getting online for not having a productive post season, then the question of potentially taking a play off, and kinda let Kermit defend for himself..throwing his hands up in disgust. Most of all, they all know quite well each extra year means that much better of a chance of losing your mind, literally.

I saw a lot of "I didn't even know who he was until taylor"  MFrs he's a first ballot HOFr..human stupidity is not easy to deal with.

I reckon the Vikings offensive line might protect him very similar much how they protected Sam Darnold and give him 1 more second on the ball. There is also Las Vegas that might again want to trade for him to be on the team.

@Wolf hey man, I am in to my 4th decade and bit disturbed by that notion.  Where in the fuck did my life go. I just HATE the offseason of football so so so much.  I mean maybe I need to seek counseling or something lol, but don't worry I won't Hunter S Thompson myself over the end of football season (though his love being that deep for football does make me like him all the more).

@Huerisitic lulz, hey man I like fantasy any which way I can get it.  I'm now in a dynasty for the first time ever, and have been playing in a few different "alternative" type leagues.  I do love me some ppr..but honestly is it really that much different than being awarded points for a first down? Either way, don't you dare think about not being our commish and not play next year.  I don't want to hear that silly talk!

I was about to ask, where the f has Hueristic been..hadn't seen ya in Nuts playoff thread and was starting to miss ya bud, for real (who woulda thunk it a few years back  Cheesy ).  Seriously I like most of our league quite a bit, and as I think I mentioned or quoted last year, the great Hunter S Thompson ...something something without football, life aint the fucking same.  It makes me sad as shit the season is over.

Yeah I've been busy on other shit. Smiley

I reckon the Chargers might trade for a better slot on the draft order for this year?

https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft/rounds

They certainly need a widereceiver after trading Keenan Allen and the release of Mike Williams. There are people in social media that Jim Harbaugh is speculating on Tetairoa McMillan. I do not watch college football, what does everyone think of this player? Will the Chargers need to trade to get a higher slot to pick him?

They really screwed the pooch with Quentin Stone hands Johnson!

Is it just me or does this feel like the fastest year ever?  Maybe it's just cuz i've gotten older and each year goes by that much faster.

Give it a break, whippersnapper.

Really though, it did seem like this year flew by.  I expect this year's season will likely start on Thursday, September 4th, which is only 205 days away.  Cry

I had the best year of my FF career, I mean I killed it in all my leagues.  Not one championship.

That's the way the cookie crumbles.  That one year when I won the league I had a pretty mediocre season, sometimes things just come together when you need them to, or they go sideways at the most inopportune moments.

Let's hear some bold predictions for next year?   Anyone got anything good?

The 9ers will go to the Super bowl, take a 13 point lead into the 4th quarter, and lose it in the last 3 minutes.

Haha, I laughed at that as well, wonder if its a bot he's quoting.

Just so ya'll know, wheelz won our other league, again, (cheater) ..that's 3 of 4.  Paying him out the pot doubled.  We bet around 100-125 each year.   He has wona double pot once, I think once it was almost 4x and once like 1.5-2x.   I have to wonder if anyone else in the world has done the same thing.  Lucky mf...not that wheelz doesn't know his shit and he's my mf boy, so I am happy for him..but damn I got bills too Wheelz  Cheesy

I have a season-long bet that the Chiefs will lose the Super Bowl so Go Eagles it is.

Congrats on the win then!  Tongue

Funny but most likely just coincidental. Seattle is just a few degrees west of Glendale and in the same time zone. And as someone pointed out in the replies, the Rams train in a facility west of SoFi and beat the Bengals in 2022.

Man, forget the game on Sunday; what are we going to do without football for the next six/seven months? Fuck!

Be sad, mainly.

T-minus 2 days till the Super Bowl.

I've seen so many numbers/stats, arguments, and predictions thrown around over the last few days about why one team should win the Super Bowl.

Please feel free to vote in my new Super Bowl poll. Just wanted to get an idea of what people are thinking. Even though the odds currently favor the Lions, I'm thinking its nearly a lock for the Chiefs at this point, although anything can happen.

Chargers / Texans will be a good game to watch tomorrow, and it should be an easy win for the Ravens over the Steelers.

Agreed! The Broncos certainly will very much try their best to win this game and win the last slot for the wild card round.

They're up 31-0 already; yeah they definitely put on their good shoes for this game. This means that the playoff slots are all full, and Miami is indeed playing like they got the memo. Tua's backup, Huntley, isn't showing a whole lot of promise. There will be a time in the next 3 years when they'll wish they had a better backup.

On the Miami Dolphins, if Mike McDaniels cares for his team and if he his very much aware of the situation on the game of the Broncos vs. the Chiefs, I reckon that he should also not risk the health of his players.

Yep, even if no playoffs (they went into it with an 11% chance), better idea to give Tua the day off than take a risk for an unnecessary game.

The Dolphins certainly needs to replace Tua or they need to trade for players who can give him more protection than the offensive lines is presently giving him. However, what is more cheaper? I reckon take a risk on replacing Tua from a first draft quarterback pick and improve the offensive line and improve protection for their quarterback.

However, who would be a good replacement for Tua who might presently be available for trading? It appears that Mike McDaniels should have speculated on Russell Wilson hehehhe.

Another great football week starts tomorrow; albeit the last of the regular season. Some games I'll be trying to watch:

Den vs. KC - Broncos need the win for the playoffs, and they are currently favored by a 10.5 point spread.

Mia vs. NYJ - Home game for the Jets, we all know Tua doesn't do well in the cold, so the spread is just -1 Dolphins even though they need to win this game (and Broncos to lose) to make the playoffs.

Agreed! The Broncos certainly will very much try their best to win this game and win the last slot for the wild card round. I reckon Andy Reid will not let his team try their very best because they have won their playoff slot and they have also won their rest day for the post season. Why would he risk his players during the most important days of the season?

On the Miami Dolphins, if Mike McDaniels cares for his team and if he his very much aware of the situation on the game of the Broncos vs. the Chiefs, I reckon that he should also not risk the health of his players.
