Pretty ugly, though at least the slightest bit exciting. Lots of sloppy plays, shit passes, idiotic penalties, and players nobody's ever heard of. Now in the last 2 minutes and down by 9, the Jets seem to have given up completely. Forget about not knowing anything about football, my luck has been absolute shit so far this season. Congrats to the Jets for being the first team to go 0 and 4.

In this instance, the money shifting the line was off - it went from Denver -2 to Denver +1.5 - the line should have been shifting the other way, LOL.

At the conclusion, one of the announcers referred to the game as "Thursday Night Slop." Sounds about right.

What are your thoughts on Broncos vs. Jets TNF matchup tomorrow, who wins?

a/ Jets
b/ Denver
c/ people who won't watch the game
I feel like the Jets will win against the Broncos. At first I really favor the Broncos in this matchup but now that you mentioned they're starting with their third string QB I think they're in a dire spot here. With that said i'm taking the Jets here and hopefully they get their first win.

I put in the same bet (Jets to win ML @ 1.97). The odds have moved a bit in the last few hours from -2 Denver to now almost even. Maybe that means too much money was coming in on the Denver side of the bet. Not a whole lot to do today so I might as well give it a watch. This will be the first time I've rooted for the Jets in... possibly ever.

I really liked the Broncos but I think there is too much money on them which has put me off just like what happened with the Ravens the other night. On Twitter all I saw was everyone taking the Ravens which is why I stayed away and will most likely stay away for tonight's game and just look for some value in Sunday's games. Good luck to the ones having a bet.

Bookmakers obviously like the QB change for Broncos, line opened at +2.5 Denver to -0.5 now. Honestly, i don't think there is much difference between Driskel and Rypien, can't really expect much from those guys, that's why i didn't take the Broncos to win, even though i still slightly favor them over NYJ. I thought the O3.5 turnovers might be a better pick here, i just need Darnold to be himself and try to make some plays happen.  Cheesy

With that said i'm taking the Jets here and hopefully they get their first win.

iirc Jets started last season with 4 consecutive losses before that win over Cowboys in week 5...anyway good luck with your pick, intersting to see who wins early season tank bowl.  Grin

Can anyone make an argument why Broncos are not going to win by 7+pts?

Let me try, although I won't bet on this game.

Saw this tweet the other day:

Source: https://twitter.com/ZacStevensDNVR/status/1310636233555468290

Jets only average 12.3pts/game this season but with a depleted Broncos defense, they should be more successful and get some rhythm on offense, while they probably don't have to score a lot to get the W, because the Broncos only average 15pts/game themselves and they only start their third string QB as you mentioned.

Jets played some good teams thus far (as did the Broncos) with Bills, 49ers and Colts; two of those were on the road. If they are interested in getting some wins under their belt this season - you never know - then this is the best opportunity for a longer time. Next up for them are Cardinals, Chargers, Bills again, Chiefs, Patriots. Then they will play the Dolphins back to back with their BYE inbetween, where they could take their next win(s).

The Jets are poor for a long time, but they normally beat the teams they are supposed to beat at home. Broncos generally speaking are poor travellers:

2019: 2-6
2018: 3-5
2017: 1-7

Broncos winning by 7+pts is of course possible (this is NFL after all Cheesy), but in an expected low scoring game, this is more unlikely. Nobody knows how Rypien will do, but an INT/pick6 here and there will kill this bet.

This Jets team is in shambles. Im so glad that we the Dolphins got rid of Adam Gase. He is just not a good coach and last game showed Jets Fans want him out.
I see Denver rolling over the Jets!

Both teams are 0-3 to start the season, both teams are bottom table in passing yards, rushing yards, and points per game.
Broncos will start third-string QB Brett Rypien in place of Driskel who obviously didn't play well against Tampa, they are expected to get back Phillip Lindsay who is coming off an injury.
NYJ on the other hand are still without Le'Veon Bell, with an awful defense that allows more than 30pts per game and a QB who forces shit way too much trying to make a play. Bookies have Broncos as dogs here, even though they have better players on paper imo.

Can anyone make an argument why Broncos are not going to win by 7+pts?

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
The Saints have lost again because of their horrible defense. I speculated them to have a chance to finish well in their division, however, similar to the Vikings it might not be so. They are the biggest dissappoinents of 2020, I reckon.
There are several other factors that are making the saints to not perform as we are used to, the first is penalty yards, they lead the NFL with 331 yards, think about it that is a full game of yardage given away in just three games which is insane, it also seems that Brees is finally showing some signs of ageing as his average on air yards is very low and taking into account that he has always distinguished himself as an accurate passer then this means that if this is really a sign of an ageing Brees then defences will forget about protecting the deep pass and will concentrate on defending the short passes which will probably drop his production even further.

Raven's O line is miserable and I'm convinced that is why they never bothered establishing the run game. You can't blame the defense against a player like Mahomes. Go man to man -- receivers out run you, zone coverage, doesn't matter, Mahomes doesn't miss and will throw on the outside.
Lamar is now 0-3 against Mahomes which seems to indicate the Ravens are not really equipped to deal with a team like the Chiefs, after all we have seen now the same story with the Ravens several times, they are great when they have the lead but as soon as they find themselves to be down the score they seem unable to climb back from it and win games against good teams.

The Ravens defense is not as good against the Chiefs in this game, I reckon. The score is 34 - 20 with only 7:00 in the clock on the 4th quarter.

Lamar is taking risks throwing the ball far and long.

Also, what sportsbook in the cryptospace offers NFL MVP futures? Josh Allen is my bet for MVP hehe.

Man, I like how the Chiefs are starting off this season. Mahomes is on point and seems like the off season did good for him. His passes are crisp and I lm glad I was on the +3 Spread.
Excited to see if his run keeps going like this!

Yeah the first half was a disaster for the ravens defense, they played a lot better in the second half but it was too late.  Josh is definatepy having a great year so far but its a long season and he has a lot of competition for mvp.  Probably a good long shot though

It's really hard to find some arguments for betting on the Chiefs after the last impressions we got against the Chargers. But I wouldn't read too much into that hard-fought win, because of that sudden change to Herbert for which the Chiefs weren't prepared maybe and who was having a very good debut with a pumped up Chargers team in their new stadium. They should have won that one more convincingly, but it's not always easy in NFL. Today will be a new and different game and Chiefs were very solid in first game against Texans, whom the Ravens also beat easily.

I think these odds are fair. Since everyone seems to be on the Ravens, I am tempted to go on the Chiefs, but odds on Ravens are going down, which is not a good sign for Chiefs fans/punters Smiley Whatever the outcome, I think it will be a great game to watch.

On another note: I really liked what I saw from Burrow yesterday, had some superb throws and Bengals should have gotten the W. But as so many teams they were a victim of their "prevent defense", which prevents nothing in the end.....well it prevents you getting the ball back with enough time on the clock to answer with a FG. And most of the times, you won't even have to answer, because you will just stop them with the defense you played all game long. Prevent defense is meh and if I were a NFL coach, this thing wouldn't exist with my team Grin

Being a Giants fan and with the season almost over for me AGAIN I can now enjoy the other games.  Can't wait for tonight's game.  I like Baltimore in this one.  This is probably a prequel to the afc championship game this year.  Can't wait to see
I also think the Ravens take this one after the Chiefs struggled against the Chargers last week but still it could go either way so i'm staying away from this match.

Now that sportsbet launched their bet builder i'm sticking with this prop bet(Lamar anytime scorer and Mahomes over 1 passing TDs).

Yeah I dont think there is an easy bet on this.  In my eyes a true 50/50 with that spread.  Only way to bet this is on the over/under which I think the over is going to get annihilated.  I can see an epic back and forth between mahomes and lamar.

This week had some crazy finishes, how is it possible Doug Pederson did not went for the FG on OT? I know it was a 64 yards FG but at this rate it is possible that the one team that wins the NFC East do so with a losing record and that tie can be the difference between making it to the playoffs or not, the game of the the Rams vs the Bills was quite exciting I was obviously rooting for the Rams but the Bills gave signs that they are a better team than what they were last season by being able to compose themselves after losing a 25 point lead.

Edit : I can't believe the Falcons lose again with that big of a lead against the Bears.
And this lead us to the Atlanta Falcons they lost a 16 point lead in 7 minutes or so? And this after just losing a huge lead last week, when I saw that the first thing that came to my mind was the amazing rant by Dennis Green.

Quote from: Dennis Green
The Bears are what we thought they were. They're what we thought they were. We played them in preseason – who the hell takes a third game of the preseason like it's bullshit? Bullshit! We played them in the third game – everybody played three quarters – the Bears are who we thought they were! That's why we took the damn field! Now if you want to crown them, then crown their ass! But they are who we thought they were! And we let 'em off the hook!

Some great games this weekend.

Going to make a pick for tomorrow and that is Ravens ML @ 1.6x. Even though the Chiefs are also 2-0, Ravens look better across the board, have just been putting up bigger numbers on offense. Chiefs D may contain the Ravens' scoring within the spread of 3.5, which is why I'm playing it safe with the ML. Also, Chiefs have a lot of injuries right now, and players recovering from injuries. Think the Ravens got this one for sure, we'll see...
