@tyKiwanuka. It appears those odds were not right. It should be Browns -10.5 or a little more hehehe. The Bengals defense is very bad, Browns defense is on point and with a talented offense.

It was also not a humiliation against the Ravens because they have the best team in the NFL. The outcome was expected.

The kicker could have at least sent the game to OT, but it wasn't meant to be.

I think i heard Bullock, their kicker, has kicked 40 straight good field goals around and under 30 yards before that miss on Sunday. Tough way to lose indeed, and after watching the highlights, Bengals final drive should have ended with a TD, the contact Green made with the defender was minimal, like Ramsey and Gallup, refs ruining another game.

The odds look about right, but for the fun of it, I placed a bet on Browns HC-6 @1.99 for small stakes.

Good luck with your bet, but me no trust no Baker and OBJ Cheesy i went with a few prop bets myself, hopefully i get at least 2 out of those 3:

Burrow O26.5 rushing yards - quick feet, pretty good in scrambling situations, not afraid to run, had 46 rush yards against the Chargers.
Kareem Hunt O43.5 rushing yards - he had more carries than Chubb, which is surprising, Bengals rush defense ain't the best, so he should be good for at least 50.
A.J. Green O4.5 total receptions - primary target for Burrow, has height advantage over most corners/defenders, i also have him in my fantsay team at flex, 90 + 1TD will be appreciated hehe

edit; my picks look dangerous at half lol

What it is interesting to figure out is if he is right about Brady, Brady did not look sharp at all but that is understandable since there was no preseason but if he still looks like that after week 5 or 6 then there is going to be trouble for Tampa Bay.

I mentioned this some weeks ago, that it will also be interesting to see what kind of offense they will use in the end. More of a Bruce Arians offense or more dink and dunk what the Patriots used to play. It looked rather Patriot-ish against the Saints, though Brady did throw some deeper balls and had success with these against an average Saints secondary. But I am not sure, if Brady is comfortable doing this the whole season and against better defenses and if he (still) has the accuracy.

My gut feeling says that we will see rather few points in general, since most teams will be rusty due to short preparation time and they haven't played competitive football for ages.

Gut feeling was wrong here, we saw quite some points, 47+ on average over all games with 9 overs and 7 unders in the end.

TNF features the matchup, which also happened to be the matchup, when I watched my first NFL game ever: Browns vs Bengals. Burrow did well in his first game and Bengals should have won this game maybe in the end as morvillz7z mentioned. The kicker could have at least sent the game to OT, but it wasn't meant to be. Browns will have some film on Burrow now and studied it a bit during the short week. After the humiliation at the Ravens, I expect to see a different Browns team this night and also a more productive OBJ in prime time (only 22yds with 10 targets at Ravens). The odds look about right, but for the fun of it, I placed a bet on Browns HC-6 @1.99 for small stakes.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
My advice for gamblers in this thread is do not bet for the Tennessee Titans. Their kicker is still missing field goals and extra points similar to last year. They won the game, however as a bettor, it was not without stress hehehe.
It seems Belichick has done it again and got rid of a player and now we are seeing a drop on his production, it is obviously too early to tell if this is correct since Gostkowsky is returning from a severe injury last season so he could still be adapting to it, however Tennessee is a team that controls the ball, time of possession and tries to keep the game close and Gostkowsky almost single-handedly lost the game for them as Denver had the chance of winning the game by just running out the clock and they even had the chance to increase their advantage as the second to last drive began on Tennessee's side of the field and they could only move the ball two yards.

What it is interesting to figure out is if he is right about Brady, Brady did not look sharp at all but that is understandable since there was no preseason but if he still looks like that after week 5 or 6 then there is going to be trouble for Tampa Bay.

Cam Newton sux, that is all.
You know for some time I have been wondering what is the deal with Cam on NE, it seemed Bill was high on Stidham and then he decided to go for Cam, while the most simple explanation is that he went for the best and cheapest player available to me that does not make a lot of sense, if Cam looks good then most likely NE will not be willing to pay what he will ask and if he looks bad then we wasted a season on trying to figure out if Stidham has the necessary tools to play with the pros.

So it is possible that Bill which is passionate about football noted that putting the pressure on Stidham to be ‘the guy that replaced Tom Brady’ will be too much for him, or anyone by the way, and that a similar scenario to what happened to Steve Young replacing Joe Montana will ensue and he is choosing Cam to bear that pressure, but of course this only makes sense if Bill thinks Stidham is the future of the franchise.

AJ Green vs LAC,  M.Mack @ JAX, J.Brown vs NYJ, or H.Renfrow @ CAR? I'm trying to avoid a major bust here...leaning towards Brown

So what was the correct choice?
How did each do in your league?

John Brown was the right choice, he ended up with 19 fantasy points (70 yards, 1TD), but i moved him to my bench, did so many last minutes changes...
Green finished with 10pts (could've got more, if not called for an offensive pass interference on the last play to win the game for Bengals)
Mack had 9pts, Renfrow 4pts (bust) and Edelman with 13.

My final lineup was: J.Allen, Conner, Barkley, Edelman, Lockett, Kittle and Mack and i was able to win my matchup despite, Mack toring his achilles, Conner and Kittle with leg injuries, not to mention that Big Ben had more rushing yards than Saquon??? The only reason i won is that my matchup had Vikings defense (-4pts), Le'Veon (7pts) and Engram (3pts)

Next week i'm going agains McCaffrey, Julio Jones and Kyler and unless i find multiple hidden gems off waivers i don't think i stand a chance.

Did better here and here.

Yeah, unless he gets his things in order or a new kicker comes in. I see dark days ahead for the Titans.

Managed to watch 3 games this week...

I watched 3 games in full and had a look into various games (ATL-SEA, BUF-NYJ, CAR-LV, WAS-PHI).

Got a bit lucky with hitting the bet on Washington, but lost the under there, because WAS scored too many points - never thought I would have to write that Shocked Their D-Line totally dominated the PHI O-Line in second half and Wentz spent a lot of time on the ground (8 sacks). Washington was quite poor offensively, but the defense often gave them very good field position. Eagles have lots of injury trouble and lost two (?) more guys during the game. They better get some players back (Johnson f.e.) or they will keep on losing.

Was curious about how the new Patriots look and well, it was an ugly game and the Dolphins are no benchmark. I think Cam did well all in all and he got the W for them, which is what matters in the end. Seattle is 1.46 / HC-4.5 against them for next week and this looks huge value to me. Seattle looked very good in Atlanta Smiley This will probably be my main bet for next week.

Cardinals win was a big surprise to me. I don't know why, but I don't like Murray at QB for them. His numbers are good, but every time I see him play, I think he is poor. They have a nice tandem at WR with Fitzgerald/Hopkins now, but it was the defense that got them the win in the end. 49ers were disappointing, nowhere near the team we saw last year - no passion, no aggressiveness.

Saints game was a nice one and yes, Brady still needs to work on a few things. I was a bit worried with him having caught the Winston-disease, but he played on ok game. Starting at the Saints is not easy, next week against Carolina they should secure their first win Smiley

As for the new normal without spectators: I thought it's not that of a big deal as I was fearing. This artificial noise helps a bit, but the main thing that made it bearable for me is that with the normal camera view, you don't see the spectators anyway. In soccer you always see the empty stands during play, which makes it kind of weird subconsciously.
It felt like there were very few false starts/neutral zone infractions, which is due to no noise as well imo.

Managed to watch 3 games this week... a lot to take in and adjust to given what will apparently be an ever-evolving "new normal." Interesting to see the disparity in what individual teams and stadiums are doing in the wake of covid. At the risk of it being a "super spreader" event, I kind of like what the Chiefs did by allowing about 1/4 capacity as genuine crowd noise beats the artificial stuff every day of the week. New Orleans went with the "white noise" approach whereas the Rams went with a sort of AI-inspired approach of adding real cheers, boos and even whistles from time to time.

The Rams' new stadium is beautiful, BTW. Apparently it was built on top of the Hollywood Park, an old racetrack which I went to as a handful of times when it was still open. The Rams' new jerseys... well I dunno, but they now wear the brightest variation of blue I've ever seen. Its like a deep, fluorescent blue that makes it impossible to concentrate on anything else. I even notice the players gloves now for what is possibly the first time ever. But, I was happy with Goff -- he was in top form, had some amazing passes. Think I'll be rooting for them this year.

As a passive Saints fan, it was weird to catch myself rooting for Tom Brady as a Buccaneer. He was beating himself up but he actually had a good game. Once he works out a few of the kinks with his receivers, I predict they'll be off to the races. Not a team to sleep on for the rest of the year.

Cam Newton sux, that is all.

True, but they did win...

Chicago's 4th Q comeback (Trubisky 3TDs  Shocked)

This game really got to me, I had it on for the last quarter as Miami was too incompetent to do anything and thats exactly the face I was making when seeing that Detroit was just throwing this game away... How can someone like Trubisky be gifted 3 TDS...  Roll Eyes

Brady at the half: 1 rush TD and 1 INT, Saints lead 17-7, so weird seeing him in a different uniform.

I was able to watch Packers vs. Vikings game, Rodgers finished with 4 TDs but they could have easily been 7+, a few drops by his receivers.
Packers looked sharp on offense, Adams with 156yds and 2TDs, feels good to have him in two of your fantasy teams.
Look what the Eagles did to me, 27 unanswered points, 13 of which in the 4th  Cry

John Brown saved me by getting enough receptions and total yards.

Jags win, Eagles losing and Chicago's 4th Q comeback (Trubisky 3TDs  Shocked), what a busy day and lots to process...

Blindly going with the Bills -6.5 as my first pick, (...)

Took that one as well now as already announced above. It's a divisional game, so high-ish HC is a bit meh, but I don't see the Jets going anywhere this season.

Putting a small bet on Washington ML (3.05) and the under 42.5 in that game too. That O-Line from the Eagles isn't very strong without Johnson/Brooks and that should play into the strength of WAS, plus they had two good games against PHI last season. There were loads of points scored in these two games, but I don't see this happening today.
My gut feeling says that we will see rather few points in general, since most teams will be rusty due to short preparation time and they haven't played competitive football for ages. Defensively this shouldn't be that much of a problem, but offensively you have to be in sync to march down the field, it's just a more sophisticated system. Lets see Roll Eyes

Blindly going with the Bills -6.5 as my first pick, my initial plan was to go on the Seahawks but I feel like it's a trap.

I also have them locked in on nitrogen's free survivor pool. Thinking of buying a few entries later since i've missed the other free pools.

Who is stopping Chiefs now that they have a running game? Edwards-Helaire looks great and put in that offense with this QB, he will be virtually impossible to stop. Chiefs with 34 carries...haha  Their other rookie (4th rounder) L'Jarius Sneed with a pick and very good first impressions on defense.
KC had the best roster during the previous two seasons and it seem this is going to be the third season in a row in which this will be true, if I am being honest one of the main reasons NE beat KC at Arrowhead Stadium on the AFC championship game during the 2018 season was because Kareem Hunt was caught on camera hitting a woman and KC had no option but to cut him, because as far as I remember KC also had a great run game during that season but with Kareem Hunt out they became even more dependent on Mahomes and his magic.

This was not a problem during the regular season but when it came to the playoffs they lacked that extra threat of the running game which allowed NE to nullify them during the first half and with a little bit of luck win that difficult game.

So if you think about it KC instead of looking to win their second SB they could have been looking for the third SB since I have no doubt in my mind the real SB of the 2018 season was the NE at KC AFC championship game and whoever won that game would have beaten either LA or NO.

^A.J. Green is probably the riskiest pick of em' all, rookie QB by his side, and this:

Quote
Green didn’t play a single snap last season after getting hurt at the end of training camp with one year left on his contract.
Cincinnati then slapped the franchise tag on Green this offseason, and he didn’t practice during camp.
Wednesday was his first registered full team practice since 2018.

I have Edelman also on the bench, guess i have to go with him then, vs Dolphins, a team they lost in the last game of last season that cost them playoff bye week.
Besides they don't have any other prominent receivers, he should be able to get 80+ yards and 1td.
Edelman it is!  Smiley

Texans didn't do well, no deep threats now without Hopkins, Fuller used to get open all the time when opposing teams double Hopkins, idk their passing game could struggle, it will be an adjustment period for Watson with just Fuller and new additions Cooks and Cobb. At least David Johnson looked alright, he may have a bounce back year?!
