I gotta say those 2 XFL games yesterday were great!

you guys really don't know what your missing.

I'll have to give it a try.  I've seen some highlights on ESPN/Sportscenter that have been pretty entertaining.  When I "logged in" /turned on my TV last night, this popped up.  I hadn't even heard about this USFL league once and I listen to a lot of sports talk via radio/tv etc..especially when it's involving sports..

It appears that the Washington Commanders might be sold the the group of John Harris, who is also the owner of the Philadelphia Sixers. I am not quite certain what would the effect of this on the team, however, the Sixers are presently not doing very bad under Harris' ownership.

According to some articles Harris bought the Sixers for $280 million and it is presently valued at more than $2 billion. Should Commanders fans be optimistic? I am certain Uncle Ron is quite happy heheheh.

Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder and Josh Harris, who co-owns multiple professional sports teams, have reached an agreement on a sale of the franchise to Harris' group for an NFL-record price of $6.05 billion, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday, per sources.
Rapoport added that the sale is not final nor signed and no agreement has been sent to the league for approval, but a finalized sale is expected if all goes well.

I see that the sale went through.  It seems Commander fans are quite pleased with him being gone.  I don't blame them.

I am also missing football heavily. Can we also have a fantasy baseball league for the next season after the NFL season with a lower fee? This might make waiting for football season much shorter heehhe.

Dang, I think you might be on to something here. We'd have to make a separate thread of course. But I'd be down. We just need to find a platform that will allow us to do an in-season draft as most teams have already played 9 or 10 games. I see there is a Sportsbet-sponsored MLB thread but not many other baseball-related threads outside of that. I'm gonna look into it.

Correct if I am wrong, I remember that @wheelz or @Direwolf created a thread for MLB before. It might be better if we can use it and keep everything within the people who are participating in the league.

Also, I would prefer if we start our MLB league before the 2024 regular season where we can also do the draft from the very beginning.

Wasn't me.  Watching Paint Dry Major League Baseball has never been among my favorite sports, other than going to a local game with family or friends.  Tickets for random weekday-games are still relatively affordable and available enough, allowing groups to attend without much trouble.  For that reason alone, it's my favorite live sporting event to attend, but in all honesty the game bores me.

Life is very boring without NFL football.  I got in to two different fantasy baseball leagues, which are fun don’t get me wrong, but it’s a slow sport and not that fun comparatively

Yeah that sounds like a real grind. I used to like baseball as a kid, went to a lot of Dodger games in my day, and then found it tedious to watch by the time I got to college. A few years later I got into NFL, don't remember the reason why exactly, maybe it was after playing Madden on the PS2.

For me NFL has the right amount of action, and the action is exciting because it resembles warfare.

Baseball on the other hand, OK I appreciate the contest between the pitcher and batter, but holy shit it can be boring sometimes. Basketball is the opposite, just constant running up and down the court; its actually too fast for me. Except for the NFL, most sports are more fun for me if I'm playing it in real life or even a video game.

George Carlin - Football vs. Baseball

Oh it is defintely a grind.  I'm pretty obsessive with fantasy though, every since I first started playing back in like 2009 or so.  I definitely agree with you on your observation of the different sports.  Baseball made some HUGE changes this year however, which I'm really excited about.  The main thing they did was change the pitcher and batters time clock.  Before, many pitchers and batter would take forever in between pitched.  Constantly fiddle fucking with their gloves, or socks or whatever..many of rituals of stepping out of the box, adjusting everything , stepping back in, touching each corner of the plate with their bat etc.  It just become extremely obnoxious and slows down the game..so this is a big time change I'm pretty excited about.

But yeah, I'm still currently missing football heavily!

However, Mac Jones was not very good in his second season with the New England Patriots and there is this article that is also saying that Bill Belichick does not want to commit to their quarterback.

I am not quite certain where Lamar will be for the next season but I speculate that this will give it a higher chance that he will be traded to the Patriots.

It often takes QBs a few years to come into their own, sometimes even longer. But after comparing Lamar's stats to Mac's, I suppose I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up there. Belichick is now 70 - almost 71 - wonder how much longer he's gonna keep going. Pats glory days are far behind them; of course they will be almost impossible to recreate by any franchise. Despite ending 2 of the last 3 seasons with a losing record he is still 262-108 with the Patriots. Damn.

In any case, it appears that Lamar has requested a trade. What team has the money and the space in their salary cap to accept Lamar?

He'd assuredly have to take a paycut for this meme to come true, but its not the worst idea I've ever heard.

Apparently he wants to go to New England, which makes some sense, although Mac Jones turned out to be pretty decent. Of course it depends on what Belichick thinks. Doubt Lamar will have a home there.

Man life is pretty boring without the NFL. Guess I'll actually pay attention to the draft this year.

Some of their struggles were the responsibility of Mac Jones, who regressed during his 2nd season in the NFL after leading the franchise to the playoffs as a rookie.

That would sure be something if Lamar Jackson decided to become a running back.  There’s no question that he could do so and be one of that best ones in the league, at least in my opinion.

@Hueristic. Jimmy G does not want to work or pay for it anymore heheeh. He wants to do it easily, only go to the place and lay down on the bed.

In any case, it appears that Lamar has requested a trade. What team has the money and the space in their salary cap to accept Lamar? I want him to join the 49ers or the Raiders, however, the Raiders has traded for Jimmy G already and the 49ers appear to be supporting Trey Lance. What team can trade for him?

I am following Lamar trade updates because I want to draft him again as my qb1 hehehe.

As of March 2nd,” Jackson tweeted, “I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens has (sic) not been interested in meeting my value.”

His March 2 request thus landed five days before the team’s deadline to place a tag on him and five days before the rush of teams insisting “we’re not going for him.”

It was after Jackson’s apparent trade request that the Ravens eschewed the exclusive tag that NFL bylaws define as “not free to sign with another club” in favor of the tag for which a “player shall be permitted to negotiate a player contract with any club, except that draft-choice compensation of two first-round draft selections shall be made in the event he signs with a new club.”

@Hueristic. I very much agree. However, is Damien Harris a big running back improvement for the Bills if we compare him to Singletary? Why did Bill Belichick not let him play in his former role after full recovery from his injuries? The Patriots RB1 became Rhamondre Stevenson on the last few weeks of the regular season.

Harris is a huge improvement over Singletary and Stevenson is better and costs less.

I'm surprised at the workload Stevenson has been able to achieve.

@Hueristic.. well certainly, but he's also getting older and has taken a lot of beatings over the past few years.  That's why teams are scared to spend a lot to acquire him.

Thats why they need to restructure contract as they get older.

Milestones over signing bonuses.

Signing bonus for young guys that need the quick influx of cash to get their life started and are expected to produce out of the gate while restructured milestone contracts for older guys that may be on the decline but still want the big bucks.

I find it funny the JimmyG insterest over a whorehouse giving free sex.

He can pay for whatever he wants so its a nothing burger.

Not to mention he could get in their pants anytime he ran into them out anyway.

I banged lots of strippers over the years and never paid a cent and I'm not famous.

I also had 3 chicks offer me free blowjobs every week if I joined their pool team. Lol

Jimmy G is sure going to be living comfortably in Las Vegas, there is no question about that.  However, I still of course don't see him making that team championship material.  The worst thing they could have done was to get rid of Darren Waller, which I still just can't fathom what led them to making that decision.  Now that he's gone, they will be able to double up on Adams, which spells trouble for their passing attack.

But, at least he'll have a nice stable of women to choose from lol.

In any case, other trades are Jimmy Garopollo was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, this might be a good improvement from Derek Carr.

Might be. On the other hand, he may be a bit distracted.

Another quarterback trade is Baker Mayfield to the Buccaneers, from the goat to Mayfield hehhehee.

Damn, I wonder why the Rams didn't want to try harder to keep him. Jeez. Gonna be really hard to root for them next season, they are a shell of the team they were just two years ago.

The offer of the life time membership from the strip joint might have also made the decision to join the Raiders much easier for Jimmy G. It might have closed the negotiations hhehehe. Massage Watson is angry at his agent for hiding the Las Vegas offer from him.

@BBC... Yes, Harris is a MASSIVE upgrade at the running back position for the Bills.  Harris is a very strong back with runs with authority and is exactly what that team has been missing.  Singletary sucks in my opinion.  If he didn't play on the Bills, his number would be far worse.  This was simply a fantastic pickup for Buffalo.  I'm very excited to see how things play out with him in that lineup.
