Gauging interest for doing Super Bowl Squares..

If you’re unfamiliar with how it works, it’s really easy to play. Here’s a good site that discusses how to play/which squares are the best etc… https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/super-bowl-squares-grid-2023-best-numbers/ltur0ayv6wvsdkyjjk2cnmdo

I am thinking maybe $5 in btc per square..what do you guys think?

That is a very good suggestion. We can also play the other league with a different format like superflex or one of those 2QB type leagues. There are other scoring formats also like PPR or half PPR. I am not certain what kind of scoring format we used. Was it PPR or standard?

In any case, who does everyone have on Sunday? Are you team Jalen or team Mahomes? I have always ignored the Eagle's performance because they had an unchallenging schedule. However, their win vs. the Niners has convinced me. I am team Jalen.

We played standard with the addition of PFFD, worked out really well IMO.

I have ZERO interest in playing any form of PPR.

@NFLexperts. Should we have 2 leagues for the next season? League 1 will be opened earlier, drafted earlier and the fee will be 50% cheaper. League 2 will be our regular league similar to what we are doing already.

I would be up for 2 leagues next year with the caveat that we do something like reverse order for drafting so we have totally different drafts.

Doesn't matter what we set the cost at to me.

Being in a fantasy league for xfl is like going to the horse track and just picking horses with the cool names to win lol.  I will watch a game or 2 but really these leagues never last.  It's fun for a hot second until you realize you are just watching a league full of guys who couldn't make the big leagues.  How many minor league baseball games or g league basketball games can you get through before you turn it off.  One more big one can't wait should be a good game sunday.

I personally want to see it become a farm league and destroy college football which is nothing more than indentured servants making cake for ivy league schools at the risk of their lives.

This is not a bad idea..having the reverse draft deal.  I think adding an extra league would put my league total up to 4 or 5, but I'm cool with that.

Obi-Wan gets high using the power of the force ...sure wish I could

The XFL starts the Saturday after the super bowl, not sure about fantasy leagues for it though.

The XFL fantasy won't happen even if there were people interested in that:

Hearing XFL (which kicks off in 11 days) isn't working with stat providers to give fantasy operators live scoring.

So insane. Easiest way to build a dedicated audience for niche sports is to lean into fantasy/DFS/betting. CC @XFL2023.

Tbh, i don't mind taking a break from fantasy football for a few months, this shit can be intense. I think i've found the perfect balance that works for me, alternating between NBA (DFS betting) and NFL (FF). My plan is to chill with basketball until June. Training camps begin in July, research teams and prepare for all of my drafts throughout August, and before you know it, it's September.

This is absolutely INSANE that they are not providing stats for fantasy purposes.  I mean how freaking ignorant do they have to be to come up with a decision that stupid. This league needs all the help it can get in order to be even remotely successful and they decide to do away with one of the main things that makes NFL football so popular ..smh

Line was 0 immediately after the last playoff game. It has since shifted to Eagles -1.5, so more bets are taking the Eagles. I feel on one hand KC benefits from having SB veterans playing and a SB veteran coach. On the other hand Hurts is a beast, will probably get a lot of rushing yards and possibly even run one in, and the Eagles D triumphs over the Chiefs in just about every metric.

Gad, feels bad betting against KC tho. I will ponder it for another day or two.

The XFL in comparison though is like being out of choice weed so you scrape the resin off the inside of a pipe you forgot about and smoke it hoping to catch any kind of buzz.

ROFLMAO, that's a pretty damn good analogy.  Remember the ProtoPipes?  They had a little resin trap to make things easy for the chronic pot-head.  Or, so I've heard...  Cool

Not just resin, but resin from schwag that's super brown with tons of seeds

Oh, the simple days of being a fledgling pot-head.  The memories...

Ehhh what would be the advantage or purpose of having that 2nd league that drafts earlier and has a cheaper fee?  I think our fee is pretty cheap as is..if I remember correctly our buy in was like $50 right? Making leagues much cheaper is when you start to run in to people caring less/not trying as hard.

Not a bad marketing approach from the XFL, to catch NFL fans that are coping with severe withdrawal symptoms.

It is a known phenomenon that some people, especially gamblers, are more prone to thoughts of suicide after the season ends.

I may be depressed but I wont take my life over it, so don't worry all Smiley

Has anyone gotten a good feel for how Mahomes is currently feeling injury wise?  I'm waiting to place my bets for the game until I get a bit of a better understanding of how Patrick is doing.  I'm not sure if Vegas is currently including his injury in to the spread, or if they expect him to be close to fully healthy, or close to as healthy as he was last game...I've done a little bit of googling but having a hard time trying to find how his current health is.

Either way, can't wait for the big game!  Super depressing though knowing NFL football is almost over for quite some time  Cry

I think Vegas expects him to be fully healthy:

I really didn't watch much outside of a few highlights here and there I came across online today, but my local Chicago sports radio program that I listen to daily was discussing the pro-bowl weekend today saying overall they found it kind of interesting and that the players actually played kind of hard when it came to the flag football game.  I guess next year I'll give it a try, maybe it'll get more interesting even.

Yes, it was definitely something different compared to the last few years. Much more entertaining..

Of course it's hard to compare what you want from an all-star game or what was offered 20 years ago, but I think @wheelz1200 pretty much summed it up:
Salaries today are hard to compare to back then and no player or team wants to take the risk of a potential injury. I certainly wouldn't act any differently.  Tongue

With 2 weeks recovery time and the "medicine" they have available, no way henne sees the field.  The nfl wants the cheifs to win, what better hero story than the face of football and playing hurt leading his team to win the super bowl.  They will sell that until the register is full.  Hate the weekend off between playoffs and the super bowl.  Nothing to watch today!

Whaaaat? You didnt watch the ProBowl?  Shocked Just kidding!  Cheesy
Although... I had a quick look yesterday, it's still not that special but they really tried to reinvent the Probowl. Some skill games were interesting and I liked the flag football better than the usual boring game.

The good times with Sean Taylor are long gone.
For those who don't know what I mean - here's a little clip:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC7Wx3zCiQo

It's a glorified hangout.  All star games are real tough now that large salaries are involved.  Nobody wants to blow out an acl ruining their career, I mean I get it especially with football.  NBA is a little easier, they play little to no defense until the last quarter, and baseball not being a contact sport it's much easier to simulate a true all star game.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
I'm all aboard the Hurts bandwagon!

Felt it preseason, grabbed him on all my teams and besides the injury has been Stellar.

snip

People are morons.
Investors on this market paid more for being told they owned and image, video or tweet, on the bright side at least those fans are buying some sand which they can actually own, considering this I think of them as slightly smarter than the ordinary NFT buyer. Tongue

But seriously when I saw the image I thought this was the selling price, and I thought the seller may ask whatever they want but they will not get it, it was not until I took a better look I understood it was an auction and 99900 was the current bid, then I finally got your point.
