@ChiBitCTy. I am more excited to see how Jakobi Meyers and Davante Adams might play with their popular quarterback hehehe. There is also Josh Jacobs who was very good in fantasy last season.

In any case, if Jimmy G had no serious injuries, I reckon they might get a chance to play in the wild card round, post season.

In any case, other trades are Jimmy Garopollo was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders, this might be a good improvement from Derek Carr.

Might be. On the other hand, he may be a bit distracted.

Jimmy G's lifetime membership on a Las Vegas strip joint will certainly become very useful during those times of boredom for his next season hehe. He failed a physical exam and it was mentioned that his foot injury is more serious than what the Raiders previously reported. I am shaking my head, I was very excited for his trade in Las Vegas.

Also, this news. The return of the goat?

While Brady is no longer an NFL player, he is still going to be around the league. He purchased a minority stake of the Las Vegas Raiders organization earlier this month, pending confirmation from the rest of the league’s owners.

This along with increased concerns about Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and his foot injury has created speculation about Brady potentially stepping back into the NFL to be the Raiders quarterback if needed.

You and all the women of Las Vegas were very excited for the arrival of Jimmy G. I’ve never been a fan of his game, he’s the definition of game manager, but I wouldn’t mind being him living in Vegas lol.

Brady signed an insane deal with Fox to announce games so he was already going to be around the league. There’s little to no chance he plays again. The Raiders with him at QB aren’t a SB team and he knows that.

OTAs started this past week. We’ve got about 3 months to the start of preseason 🙌

@ChiBitCTy. Agreed. I reckon the Bears would have made a better record in the standings if the playbook gave Justin Fields more running opportunities near the beginning of 2022 season heheeh. Also hehehe, didn't the Bears have Trey Lance as their first choice in the 2020 draft but picked Justin Fields because San Francisco drafted Lance first?

In any case, the schedule for 2023 season has been released! Regular season begins on September 11.

https://www.nfl.com/schedules/2023/reg1/

I don’t think that it was ever revealed who the Bears preferred taking in the 2020 daft. They wouldn’t have come out and said that they wanted Trey over Fields after the fact, as that would be a pretty bad way to start out their relationship with each other. Just not something ownerships/management tend to do.

Just hoping it turns out better than the draft where they chose Mitchell Trubisky over Mahomes and Watson lol

@everyone. Draft grades from Yahoo sports for the NFC and the AFC are released. They are 2 long articles and might take a coffee or tea and some biscuits to read all hehehe.

https://sports.yahoo.com/2023-nfl-draft-grades-for-nfc-eagles-get-top-marks-so-do-rebuilding-cardinals-and-one-team-received-an-f-185301750.html

@ChiBitCTy. Agreed. Similar to what I said already, Bryce Young might have a better performance than Cam Newton's return to the Panthers. I have not seen their draft grade, however, my guess Bryce should be an A or a B+.

Thanks for sharing these. I did make myself some coffee and biscuits (well it was actually a protein bar but biscuits of some kind would have been much more enjoyable) and read through the draft grades. It was nice to see my Chicago bears at the top of that one article and receiving an A grade on top of that, love to see it. The big O-Lineman they selected should help give Fields plenty more running room this coming season, which is a scary proposition for defenses.

@ChiBitCTy. On the Lions' pick, I am not quite certain why this was bad, I need to learn more about this game hehe. However, it might be because the Lions might trade D’Andre Swift or David Montgomery later before the preseason?

In any case, @everyone. We were 10 teams during the previous season. I reckon this year our league should have 12 teams? Should we find 2 more entrants?

Well that's the thing. At time of the draft pick, the Lions still had Swift ( who's since been traded ) as well as they paid David Montgomery a large contract ( too large in my opinion ).  Even still, after trading Swift I still feel like they drafted a running back way too high.  Bijan Robinson was the only RB in my opinion that deserved to be drafted in round one.  I think a lot of people are pretty skeptical of that pick by the Lions.  Time shall tell though.

I dunno. 10 seems to be a good number, not too easy, not too hard. If we up to 12, at least 1 or 2 teams are guaranteed to have landed a shitty QB as will become apparent by the end of the first few weeks. I'm not totally against it, however. Guess it depends on the level of interest when mid-August rolls around.

It will be interesting to see how Bryce Young performs in his first season. It's always a crapshoot with rookies but I read a lot of good things about him. Same goes for CJ Stroud although he's gonna have a lot less to work with than Young on the Panthers.

I'm fine with 10 or 12.  I think you guys know 8 is not very fun, but 10 might be that sweet spot for most.

I'm very interested to see who has the better season and career between Young and Stroud!

We can certainly assume that Bryce will have a better performance than Super Cam Newton's second time with the Panthers hehhehe.

@ChiBitCTy. This is good news and it appears the Ravens had the contract extension in their desk ready to be shown to Lamar on draft day hehehe. The team might have thought Lamar could be forced to agree to sign the previous offer hehe. I reckon this new contract will reawaken Lamar 2019 hehehehe.

In any case, I am sorry. The Texans drafted Will Anderson. They have been aggressive in this draft trading for the 3rd pick to draft him. The also drafted quarterback CJ Stroud on the 2nd pick. It appears after Deshaun Watson the Texans are taking this next season more serious?

Well the Bears getting Will Anderson was a pipe dream anyhow.  What a first round draft though overall. I didn’t expect for the Bears to get their chance at Jalen Carter and end up trading down the pick one spot (gaining a future fourth rounder) in order to land Darnell Wright.  Some believed Carter to be the best player in the draft, but he came with baggage, so I guess the Bears going with a bit safer of a pick and still a position of great need was the right call.

The Lions taking a RB at 12 was just crazy.

@ChiBitCTy. My hope is the Panthers make their pick on quarterback Bryce Young a certainty before the draft begins. This would imply that the Texans, another team that wants Bryce, can use their no.2 pick on the first round to bargain a trade for Lamar Jackson heheheh.

Well Lamar Jackson isn't going anywhere "The 2019 NFL MVP and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a five-year contract extension worth a reported $260 million, and $185 million is reportedly guaranteed.

The deal now makes Jackson the highest-paid player in the NFL based on annual average value at $52 million, topping Jalen Hurts' $51 million. Hurts inked his $255 million extension with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this offseason" https://www.foxnews.com/sports/ravens-lamar-jackson-agree-to-5-year-contract-extension

I think there's no question Bryce Young goes to the Panther's at the top spot, but there are questions about the Texans possibly trading down and trying to tank for next year where the top QB prospect is bigger than any of these guys here this year.

Really hoping the Bears can magically get Will Anderson tonight.

The draft begins next thursday and it appears that there might be a possibility that the Texans might trade for Lamar for their 2nd pick on the first round. The Texans are clearly searching for a replacement for Massage Watson.

@Hueristic. You know you are addicted to football when you are annoyed and think that Fox is conspiring against XFL hehehhehehee.

Can't wait for the draft tomorrow! It would have of course been much for exciting if my Chicago Bears still had their first round , first selection pick, but I am plenty happy with the compensation we got back from trading that pick, and still have the number  nine pick.

Who's your guys' favorite teams and who do you hope gets draft??

Boy oh boy for the first time in twenty something years the Green Bay Packers don't have a mega-star Hall of Famer at the helm and I for one could not be happier.  Good riddance and have fun in New York, you belong there Aaron! Smiley

If I was the Texans I would just stick with one of the two QBs who are ranked at the top of this year's draft. Lamar is OK but because they are doing so poorly, they have nothing to lose by gambling on an unknown. With Lamar, you know what you're getting, which is just a couple steps above mediocrity. Might as well take a risk to get something better.

@Hueristic. You know you are addicted to football when you are annoyed and think that Fox is conspiring against XFL hehehhehehee.

How's this for addicted? I had two separate dreams last night that I was flipping through the TV channels and some NFL games came on. Both times I thought to myself, "hey wait a minute, this isn't football season, what's going on??"

I gotta say those 2 XFL games yesterday were great!

you guys really don't know what your missing.

I'll have to give it a try.  I've seen some highlights on ESPN/Sportscenter that have been pretty entertaining.  When I "logged in" /turned on my TV last night, this popped up.  I hadn't even heard about this USFL league once and I listen to a lot of sports talk via radio/tv etc..especially when it's involving sports..

Fucking fox trying to run their usfl games opposite xfl, told you guys they only created that league to sabotage the xfl.

I wouldn't doubt their plan is to kill off xfl then roll usfl back into nfl to keep a a nice neat monopoly.

At least the guys are getting paid and there is a alternative for kids to play and get paid rather than being slaves to collegiate institutions now.

It's been fun watching Gordon play and there are a few outstanding players that will make it to the nfl so I think of it as scouting for fantasy next year. Smiley

The NFL is no more a monopoly than Major League Baseball or the NBA.  There's simply not enough good/highly skilled players to make another league on the same level as the NFL as legit.  I mean the XFL, USFL, Candaian League, Arena League..they all have the opportunity to be a as good as the NFL..but they can't get players even remotely as good.  Why would any player want to play in those leagues that could play in the NFL?  Also career life-spans are very different than in soccer/Euro football..the average football player's career is 3 years.  So most players simply aren't good enough to last long enough to make other leagues more competitive.  The NFL doesn't need to try and "run a monoply".  They were first and don't need to try and compete with those other leagues. Hey I'm all for calling out a scam, or sabotage, monopolies or whatever, but I don't see what you seemingly see with American football.
