So first thing we need to decide is deadline for keeping a spot locked up.

1) Spot lockup deadline

I vote 3 weeks prior to draft day.

2) date of draft day

I vote Sat or Sun before kickoff thursday.
I tend to goto casino friday nights.

3) Any Veto's on Yahoo and Seek3r joining the league?

I'm guessing this is a non issue but I want it to be fair and impartial.
I vote allow both unequivocally.

4) Keep me as Commish?

I vote yes unless someone else wants it and then I may change my vote.

5) Keep DW as treasurer?

I vote yes as he has done a stellar job the last 2 years.

6) should we go into debating and voting for rule changes before the player list is set and dues are collected?

I'm unsure but I would lean yes as we can still get a majority vote without having everyone locked in.


Thats all I can think off of the top of my head that we need to address before the league for 2023 can be cemented and we can start discussing rules.


Also anyone intested in a second league we can start a list now and choose a comish and format.

I would love to participate in this year. Maybe I need some help at the beginning because its my first Fantasy League but that are my only concerns right now.

AFA a Deadline for locking up last years position I'm going to throw out 3 weeks before the season starts as it should give us 2 weeks to get another player if someone cannot commit and 1 week buffer for the draft.

Also if someone cannot commit we can still have them on the list if their circumstances change before we lock in a new player.

I agree with @DireWolfM14 on having 2 payouts. If I remember correctly, everything went to the winner last year. This season we have 2 more recruits. Their entry fees can go to my opponent as 2nd prize after the final.

Points to debate after we decide the final roster:

South Park:
1) Should we change the playoff format?
And let 6 teams to move to the playoffs with the top two teams getting a BYE or maybe expand it to 8 teams as some may not like not playing their teams on the most important part of the season?
2) About the second league, I am in, now we just have to wait to see if there is enough interest on it.

If I missed a point then let me know so I can add it, also if anyone wants to add a point then just quote the current points and add yours to the bottom and that way none will get lost as we progress and the last quoted one should be the most updated.

I'm super curious to see how this Jets team does this season. Adding Aaron Rodgers, probably picking up Dalvin Cook, and a top 5 defense I can see them winning 10-11 games this season.

When are we planning on doing the draft?

Two days away from the very first preseason game!  They call it the "Hall of Fame Game".  Thursday at 7pm Chicago time.  Jets versus the Browns which would be a REALLY good game if all the starters actually played.  Since the pre-season is now only 3 games instead of 4, they may actually play starters in this game.  We sha'll see.


I agree with you that sticking with Yahoo makes the most sense (though Sleeper is really growing on me and I believe is either the best or will be the best fantasy app before long).  I also agree with .0025BTC being a good amount as the buy in.

@Hueristic. I recently read your email. I am certainly joining this season!

On the other details mentioned in this thread, I would like to vote for the same donation amount to the pot of .0025 similar to last season and also vote to use the same website Yahoo Fantasy. All of the other changes being discussed within the fantasy league, I will vote yes of most of the participants agrees and will also vote yes.

Also, welcome to @yahoo62278 and @SouthPark's victi, I mean recruit hehehe.

I don't remember if we set one last year but thats something we need to discuss if we didnt.

I got your email Hueristic, and of course you know I'm in.  

When it comes to Yahoo rankings, typically I hate when my team has a good score. Good scores come from people who draft the next man up, which the system has ranked as the best player at that time, and so it adds the most points towards ranking the drafts.  That's why I hate when I get a good grade.  It means I haven't reached around enough for the outlier players. ( Edit: I just realized Wheelz essentially said the same thing lol)

Looking forward to the season ya'll..next Thursday is the first preseason game!

It's always the joke in my one fantasy league.  Whoever "they" grade the lowest had the best draft.  It's funny because people think the rankings lines you up for a winning season.  What I've learned is that a decent amount is luck.  Injuries need to be minimal and ypu need to hit a couple flyers who weren't ranked that high. That's usually who wins it.

You make a good point about it cheapening the regular season, I'm convinced.  In that case I would prefer 4 teams, and no bye week.


I should have time this weekend to gather all the suggestions and start a poll for the settings and changes.

I'm not sure i like the idea of 8 playoff teams, that's more than 50% of the league making the playoffs, and those finishing 7 and 8 are likely to have losing records. It cheapens the regular season. In a 12-team league, 6 should be the max, with the top two seeds getting byes.


When we get to vote/discuss current format and settings i'd like to propose two changes:

1. replace kicker with a flex spot
2. switch from continual rolling waivers to reverse standings

I would prefer an app that I can access on a desktop browser also.  It's easier to do research and make changes when I can have multiple windows open at once, and dicking around on a phone is a pain at my age.

That is funny.  IIRC, I was ranked 3rd after the draft and finished in 9th.  Pretty dismal year for me, hope to do better this year.  I still feel like winning 2021 was a fluke for me, but I'll keep reminding you guys that I won 2021.  


The sooner the better, just so we can recruit a 12 participant if needed.  

The season starts Thursday September 7th, so I think we should have our draft the weekend before; Friday September 1st or Saturday the 2nd.  That's just a bit over a month away.

If we do end up with 12 teams, I like the idea of 8 making it to the playoffs.  Quarter finals on week 15, Semi finals week 16, and Finals week 17.

If I recall, last year's entry fee was mBTC25, which is about $73 at the moment.  I'm good with keeping it at that.

Not sure if I'll be able to join this year unfortunately. Is there a deadline for when I have to give a final decision?

I went back and looked at yahoo's ratings of our draft report card last year and the top 3 teams were all rated in the bottom 4!

In real football news, thank God giants signed Barkley, that would have been a huge hole at running back.  Signed Jones for years and Thomas our left tackle for years.  They are 8.5-1 to win the nfc east.  I know eagles are favorites but I can see them regressing some.  Might throw a flyer on the g men
