Justin Jefferson might not be good to draft for this season. Yes, Kirk Cousins said it is okay for him not be included in Justin Jefferson's list of top 5 quarterbacks in the NFL. However, Cousins will show his real feelings on the field hehehehe. No throws for Justin on 2023 hehehe.

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins offered an honest perspective on Thursday regarding his take on being overlooked by teammate Justin Jefferson on his list of the top-five quarterbacks in the NFL.

A clip of the star receiver from a recent trip to Brazil as an NFL ambassador went viral earlier this month after Jefferson tabbed, in order, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen as the game’s best QBs.

During an appearance on KFAN-FM 100.3’s The Power Trip, Cousins was asked if it bothered him that he was excluded from Jefferson’s list. After initially saying he was unaware of the ranking, the 34-year-old graciously accepted the opinion before looking toward the pair’s future.

34 years of top tier HOF QBs, expect Love to make a 180 & become a HOFr too. Our luck.
If that were to happen that will surely put the Bears as the team with the worst QB luck ever, after all before Fields which was the best Bears QB ever? Jay Cutler? Jim McMahon? A guy that played 70 years ago or so?

If Love turned out to be a HOF that would mean the Bears would had to face four to five decades of masterful QB play, not even the AFC East faced that kind of nightmare scenario with Brady.

It’s insane but yes, statistically speaking, Jay Cutler is the best quarterback the Chicago Bears have ever had. I mean that’s just insane, and sad for Bears fans like myself.

I surely don’t expect Love to be the caliber of Favre or Rodgers (very few ever have been). I am praying that Fields comes out and finally gives us that quarterback that we’ve been so desperately searching for. I would say that they probably already have the worst luck ever in terms of QB play. They are one of the original teams too.

Lol, 82 NBA games aren't as demanding on a body as 17 NFL games.  It's a gladiator sport, with a ball thrown into the mix just for fun.

Mmm yes you have a good point here but, how do you can maintain that point when the brother sport of NFL (rugby) play the whole year , and also they dont make changes constantly between ofensive and defensive players. NFL games have ton of rest between efforts. Before anyone think im understimating the effort of NFL players, its huge and one of the most powerfulls when they have to make the strenght.

NFL has 18 weeks, recently having added another, and are likely to add one more game on soon. NFL football is more demanding than Rugby. There’s no possible way you can play that sport year round. The season is loaded with injuries, often times injuries that take 8-12 months to heal.  Also, adding shoulder pads and helmets help deliver blows to the body. Often times players get their “bell rung” several times a game. This is when your vision goes black (you’re blind) and you have what looks like a bolt of lightning go down the middle of this black “vision”, so to speak. These are mini concussions. Full on concussions also happen often to players and is absolutely horrific on the brain. A brain disorder, CTE (short version of the name) was recently discovered by a Dr. This is like what boxers get when they get punched in the head so many times. It often leads to many different types of mental health issues,  including many suicides.  The off-season is needed.  The NFL is by far America’s number one sport, they make plenty of money with what games they have.

I can't believe we're only a month away from a cursory preseason teaser, and only six weeks away from unofficial football.  To be honest, I haven't missed it.  I'm glad that this thread has been largely active all off-season, happy to see you guys are enjoying it.  But I just haven't had the heart heart for it.

After the 49ers' last game I began questioning reality.  Is this life real, or am I living in matrix-like experimental reality where cruelty is inflicted on test-subjects through chemically induced highs and lows as hallucinations of football and women?

I don't know, I just don't know.

Lol, you think you’ve got it bad, try being a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Yes the Cubs finally got one in 2016 but are back to being terrible and the Bears haven’t last won since 1985, and I was a year old, so obviously I didn’t get to enjoy it lol.

Rogers is out of their division so they should be good to go now. Wink

Lol I'm a die hard knicks fan so I can appreciate you questioning of reality 😂.

One thing is for sure San Fran is built to compete every year for the near term so enjoy the run.  Remember only one team wins it every year amd every other team is in exactly the same position.  Nfc is a wild card this year I can't figure out who will be on top.

Afc is a little easier as it's top heavy.  Can't wait!

I was excited after the superbowl and during the draft, however, I am presently in a similar mood as you after not witnessing the most exciting trade rumors occur. But things to be excited on during the next season would be Deshaun Massage Lover Watson in a complete season with his new team. Improvements and comeback of Russel Wilson after a bad season with the Broncos. The New York Jets and Mr. I am immunized Rodgers. The Bills next post season, no comment hehehehe.

In any case, what is the plan for our fantasy league? The same schedule, we draft 1 week before the regular season begins?

Rugby is played with a ball that's the same shape, and that's about all the similarities the two games have.  The tackling style in rugby is totally different, the speed of the game is totally different.  Attempting to compare the two makes it sound like you've never watched a NFL football game.  Please educate yourself before engaging in an argument about a subject you don't understand.

One question from a total ignorant, why the season of NFL its so short?.

When i know it was that short really impresed me, more thinking about NFL its a league from USA, so money money money (music), so more games and longer season its more money and more tickets to sell. Why its not long or all year?

In the other hand NBA have a big rest, but still playing a lot of games in the months when its played.

Niners are good, but you can’t be that shocked by the outcome..Patrick Mahomes is just unreal. Y’all still got a good team. The QB situation certainly is an interesting one.

I’m the opposite, football season is so by far my favorite time of year, I go in to a slight depression day 1 without it 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I’ve gotten the auto-renew notification for all my leagues. We are just about 2 months out now.

Currently doing my first ever dynasty draft, which I’ve wanted to do for a long time now.

I had pick 9, and it’s a 12 man league. It’s a league that has an “offensive position” spot which means you can plug any player in it, which also means it’s technically a 2 QB league.

I snagged Fields pick 9 (my first). Hard call between him, Watson and Lawrence.

Came back on the turn and snagged Breece Hall. I really wanted 2 other RBs , but it’s dynasty and need youth. Just praying he comes back decently healthy.

Hope y’all having a good week/weekend, especially if in the US - Happy 4th. I’m going in day 4 of having no power. Central IL got rocked by 4 tornados and straight line winds. Word is I may not have power until Tuesday, if then. Ruining my week long vacation. Sweet! Lol. Cheers.

Was delighted surprised and excited to see this thread back up and running!  Training camp upon us and fantasy season coming shortly.  Listen Kapernick is more a media tool than anything at this point.  Dude hasn't played football in years.  If Brady was off for that many years and tried to come back people would say the same thing, nah thanks.  Colin should just move on and enjoy his time in the league. This is an old story by now.

I completely forgot that we plan to expand the main league from 10 to 12. It would have been convenient to have both leagues on the same platform, however, i'm not sure how 12 and 10 (the free best ball league on Yahoo is locked at 10) would work. There's plenty of time to figure it out i guess. Nonetheless, having two leagues isn't a must, i just thought it might be fun, draft and forget.

edit;

Sleeper app might be a good alternative for the best ball league, it's fully customizable (i was able to test it last night, we can match the settings from the main league), and besides Sleeper has the best design/UI of all fantasy platforms out there.

I checked out sleeper last year and their stats were incorrect and I messaged the devs on it and never heard back from them and checked the stats a month later and they were still wrong and haven't bothered to check again since then.

I saw a couple news articles about Colin Kaepernick trying to stay relevant & wanting to get picked up this year -- at age 35 & more than 6 years out of the league. The best comment was he should have tried to play in the XFL or USFL to remind people he can still play... he didn't exactly go out with a bang in terms of performance.

Yeah, thats right!

WhyTF didn't Kaepernick play either of those leagues to showcase hes not a has been?

Huge missed opportunity unless he is so out of shape he just wants a 3rd string bench seat and a pay check.

I also got an email from yahoo saying our league would be auto renewed but havn't read the email yet.
I didnt know they had to be renewed.

Got this email today, looks like my other league's manager already has anticipation fever

Draft date: Sept 5...

that's 67 days from now!!

 Cry

Guess the upside is we have plenty of time to start planning!

I take it that it was you who drafted him? Again, depending when you did,not a bad idea.

LOL, no, I didn't. Although I had my share of screwups.

Shoot, I've been playing fantasy football for over 15 years now, 2-5 leagues a year, and I still screw up all the time.  I fancy myself as quite NFL knowledgeable and good at FF..but I mean look at what place I came in last year in a league where half the people are noobs..it's a tough game! But fun..excited for my second year in this league.

So I like the Idea behind Best Ball, As you all know I pm people that forget to set their lineups or have last minute scratches.

I don't know how injuries are handled though, if your QB gets knocked out for the season your just boned? Or your kicker like butler last year? I had to use a rostor spot last year for 2 kickers most of the year and that sucked. but you need those points each week and those are positions you don't normally draft 2 players in. Come to think of it TE as well if you lose that position its not as bad as QB or K but can ruin your chances.

The free 10-man that's available on Yahoo does not include kickers and defense, HALF-PPR scoring.

Thinking about this I guess the drafting strategy would be way different.

You guys that have played it want to chime in on these thoughts?

I haven't played in one yet. I was hoping ChiBitCTy might give us a few pointers, but it appears they haven't either...perhaps wheelz1200 has some experience with these types of leagues?

Given the format, i'd guess a WR-heavy draft, 2-3 QBs, and 9 bench spots should account for injuries...idk.

Also I would have no problem doing 2 leagues this year of differing formats (except ppr) and think it would be fun to do a early draft on one (bestball maybe) and a late one after pre season for our main one.

I've never played best ball but I now remember having done a deep dive in to it and how it works. Personally, it's not for me.  I like to be hands on (I'm in two fantasy baseball leagues where literally every single day you have to be setting lineups) and I just don't like the idea of drafting one roster, then it selects the players that did the best when its all over.  You don't do pick ups or anything throughout the year either (I'm sure this varies)

That said, even though I'm probably already in like 5 leagues for this coming year, if ya'll decide to do it, I'll give it a try at least.
