Hi I'm a using HIS 7950,does anyone know why I cant get it running at cooler temperatures, its really hard to get it running under 98 degrees. Im only using it on Intensity 13, getting about 260khs with the following settup, pretty frustrating!! Also using 8gb ram

YES!!! finally sorted out my CPU only miner.

all came down to sorting out the CLI properly.

Thanks a bunch Aleks. if you have any spare VTC to help kickstart a new miner feel free.. VbsgNouAFM6eGDhkzDhWNA6S4AX1dzB6Xs

For the new miners for CPU only PM if need be, happy to help get this VTC going.

or follow CLI as below:

c:\users\miner\desktop\folders\vert\cgminer -G --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://yourpool.org:3333 -u user.number1 -p password
  <---pool type, pool address, port and user login details------>

enjoy and prosper

Hey all,

Just setup 4x Asus DCII 280x.

Having some issues getting anything good out of them.

I am running on BAMT that has been swapped over to run vertminer.

Here is my config, see anything that would cause them to run at only 260Kh/s?

Another odd thing is that the dash board below does not appear to update the clock speed when I change it. Quite odd.

Code:
{
"pools" : [

I have a Sapphire r9 270x but just can't get over 75 kh/s without HW errors.
It's strange I can't set a thread concurrency over 1024. I thought TC was a multiple of the shader count. My gpu has 1280 shaders and I can't even set thread-concurrency=1280 ?
It gives me "Error -61: clCreateBuffer, , decrease TC or increase LG"
I'm on windows with the modifed cgminer 3.7.2

try to use setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200 (or even bigger number).

I use vertminer and directly execute the command above.
I don't use vertminer.conf to set the parameters, it makes a lot of troublesome. For example, setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 can not be active if you use vertminer.conf, even if I separately execute setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 before running vertminer.
But for my 280x system and 7850 system, I can use vertminer.conf.

Thanks, but GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200 didn't help.
I finally managed to double the rate by setting
GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT ""

With that I'm getting 155 kh/s , WU: 144.2/m, no HW and hardly any rejects
conf is:
"scrypt" : true,
"gpu-engine" : "1100",
"gpu-memclock" : "1500",
"intensity" : "12",
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"shaders" : "1280",
"thread-concurrency" : "4096",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"worksize" : "256",

I think there's still more possible, will be trying it without the conf file

I get about 700 kh/s with two 280x and this config.

One Powercolor R9 280x
One Sapphire R9 280x Vapor-X

Hi having problems to conf the file can yo send me de inf file please ,sreen shot .thanks jan

Getting around around 290/300 kh/s with 7950 sapphire dualx with boost 3GB  No HWs

-I 13 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192  --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500  1.187V VGPU

Hi! What are your overall system specs and OS that you currently use? I have the same card but I cant get to get more than 245Kh/s...

The only thing I've needed to change for Vertcoin is thread concurrency. These seem to be the optimal ones for the cards I've tried so far:
R9 290: 24550
7950: 19712
5850: 5120

Thanks for the 5850 TC. 5120 seems to be the only one that works.

just started mining this and I was wondering if half of the speed you get running scrypt is normal? Also it really slows down the pc compared to scrypt.

my 5850 normally does about 320 kh/s and with this coin it does 160 kh/s, is this normal?

Yes VTC mines about 1/2 of straight scrypt so that looks right.

I have some WF3 7950s that I'm trying to configure.  I am able to get a maximum of 188k, which is disappointing since they do 685k scrypt.  I expected over 300k.

I've fiddled with all the settings, can't get better.  Any pointers would be great!

My bat file for one of the cards:

set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o vtc.poolz.net:3333 -u xxxx -p yyyy -d 0 -I 13 --thread-concurrency 10240 -v 1 -w 256 -g 2 --shaders 2048  --lookup-gap 2 --temp-overheat 85 --temp-cutoff 90 --remove-disabled

Thanks.
Thx a lot!

LTC bounty for those who help me get vertminer-gpu working in linux

having a weird issue after building it where when I try to run my .sh file I get:

vert.shL 5L vert.sh: /home/me/Downloads/vertminer-gpu/vertminer: not found

looks like that executable file never gets created in the build process...

Trying to get vertminer running on BAMT..

Works, using https://github.com/Bufius/vertminer-gpu.. but weird

cgminer (vertminer) doesn't show the fan speeds.  but it DOES seem to autocorrect.

At the same time, have to go into gpumon to see temps.

And one of my old 7950s seemed to do something pretty wrong, fan was spinning up to 100% quickly and then stopping, check temp - 96C.

anyone else having issues with temp's not being seen in cgminer/vertminer?

I just took all my scrypt configs but made thread-conncurency +1, so basically for ASUS 280x:

intensity 13
worksize 256
lookup-gap 2
thread-concurrency 8193
shaders 2048
gpu-threads 2
gpu-engine 1080
gpu-memclock 1500
gpu-powertune 0

gets me almost exactly half of my regular scrypt hashrate, ~385 kh/sec per card.

edit : Reboot because i thought maybe that would get it to show temps.  Nope, and now hashrate back to 250 kh/sec, EXACT SAME SETTINGS.

edit2 : oh duh, realized i was following a guide too letter-by-letter.. copy ADL files in before running ./buildit.sh, not after, even if they say after.

is no one else w/ dual gpus noticing an issue with cgminer or vertminer like i am?  I switched back to cgminer and I have the same issue.  enabled -g 2 and gpu 0 runs about 50-70khs faster than gpu 1.  I even tried physically swapping cards but it does the same thing.  even tried running 2 separate instances of cg and vertminer w/ -d 0 and -d 1 switches but gpu 1 still runs slower.  when mining doge i had both running at 725-750 at the same time.

the above is what i've been using for all other scrypt mining. it generally gets me 1,200kh/s

gpu 0 is an HD 6970 @ 930/1500 (500kh/s)
gpu 1 is an HD 7970 @ 1000/1500 (700kh/s)

i would like to mine vertcoin.

wat do?
