That's right, and also don't forget that every other altcoin is "paired" with BTC in most people's minds. And I don't mean crypto enthusiasts or traders, but rather regular people who are only in the process of thinking on investing in this or that coin. Most of those people would abandon the idea of investing in any cryptocurrency if they saw Bitcoin crashed.

Altcoin is very dependent on bitcoin price in cryptocurrency, when bitcoin rises, every coin seem to gain higher value from it. And when bitcoin fall in price, you will see value of altcoin dropping like Autumn leaves!

What i believe is is reverse with what you saying, if bitcoin falling, then bad thing could also happen to the altcoin. cause up until today, what ever happen to bitcoin, it will always affecting the altcoin.

it is true that btc manipulate other altcoin price but that doesnt mean if btc dumps a lot altcoin will go zero.Market has shifted a lot from previous year,it is not solely dependent on btc ,other major altcoin are gaining high liquidity so major altcoin will not be affected that much even if btc goes dumps.current position of bitcoin can help some altcoin to pump as it is best for them otherwise when btc will start to pump ,altcoin will affected i.e dump for a time then pump as btc gain.

The evidence supports the opposite theory, when the price of bitcoin crashed the price of all altcoins went down even faster and investors are not really looking to invest in many of the coins that exist in the market because they are afraid that most of those coins will go to zero, so while I can understand that people are looking for something positive about the bear market I simply cannot see it.

If you can realize that all altcoins are now based on bitcoin, then you won't say that. In fact, most altcoins don't have an independent value, just because we bought them with bitcoin. Their value, once Bitcoin collapses, means that the whole sea will dry up, if there is no water, how can there be fish?

The decline of btc is never useless. Altcoins drop more. it's been known for decades. Altcoins are completely bound to btc, about pricing =))

I think quite the opposite is the case. The value of altcoins is correlated to Bitcoin. Thus when Bitcoin will crash, you can imagine what will happen with altcoins.

that is also what im thinking about . i believe on what others say that alts follow the price of btc because i already witnessed it before . maybe the op of this thread is an altcoin investor because he wanted the alts to go down .

btc crash can be good for altcoin only if we are sure that investors will switch to altcoin because that can surely help altcoins to rise but if the crash is only caused for personal use ( e.g they sell due to panicking or they sell because the want cash to spend on something ,etc ) then that is not beneficial for altcoins .

BTC crash can't be good for altcoins, because what crypto world needs is much wider adoption than it is now. Bitcoin is the most recognized crypto currency in the market and worldwide, and if something bad happens to it people in general become suspicious about crypto currencies overall. Most people are not that tech-savvy, so they look at the king, and if the king is not feeling good they think that the whole kingdom is sick.

From my casual observance the altcoins tend to multiply what is happening with Bitcoin, so if Bitcoin is dropping the alts will fall by a greater percentage. And if Bitcoin is rising the alts will increase in value by a greater percentage, so to make the most of things we need Bitcoin to be rising again now we have loaded up.

Bitcoin gets plunged and altcoin too, there was no reason to call that as a piece of good news for altcoin and OP seems didn't even understand about the correlation between altcoin and bitcoin.
But there was a ton of bad news rather than good news when bitcoin comes to the bearish trend.

I am not agree with the thinking if bitcoin crash will give the chance for altcoins to rise, what we all knew anything that happen on bitcoin it will surely affecting the altcoins, no matter what happen, the reality is like that. It is really hard to remove that reality in cryptocurrency.
