Ah, tokeweed I didn't pick up on that. Is there seriously not an event this weekend. We've just had several weeks off for the Christmas period.

Welsh, Actually, you never know. Probably he might perform well in this movie, who knows?
But knowing his character, I honestly cannot say that he is going to be a good movie star.
However, we also know that UFC fighters have to be very punctual and sacrifice a lot of things for fighting.
Probably he will be able to do that for the movie as well.
I'm not saying he's going to be awful, and I didn't mean for it to come across as him not being very good. He could be, I don't know. I just wouldn't have thought he would've been interested in it, and I wouldn't have thought anyone would've approached him for a role. Simply, because he doesn't really look like the movie star type. He's very rugged, and all he's really talked about is fighting. Obviously, there will be fighting in the movie, but I still wouldn't have thought he would've been into acting.

Spivak will beat Lewis and I would not doubt that he knocks him out in the 1st or 2nd round. Lewis has been knocked out in his most recent fights and he does not show any improvement he just tries to throw big punches but Spivak is too smart for that. I think Spivak knocks Lewis out in the 2nd when Lewis is getting tired. If not Spivak by decision.

What do you mean by how much weight he's lost?  I think the most weight he's lost is around 5 lbs.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/14023-derrick-lewis-the-black-beast

So I don't think it's gonna affect the powerrr in his hands too much.  It would be another story if he decided to lose around more than 10 lbs which would something he'll never do.  Lol.
There's been a few pictures floating around of him jogging along the road, and he looks considerably thinner. Now, I don't know how accurate these photos are. We won't know until the weigh I suppose. Obviously, he's not going to end up losing like 100lbs, since he'd be in a different weight class Tongue. However, I think it's more than 5 pounds judging on the recent photos.

I know you can't rely on that information before your bet, but if he is considerably lighter come the weigh ins I'll definitely be taking that into consideration. Although, he had power to spare to be fair, and it might even help him keep up with the volume much more than usual. Since, he's usually very relaxed, and doesn't throw much until he can get that one big punch.

I'll probably go with Lewis just because it's hard to bet against him, however it depends on how much weight he's lost, and if that's going to impact him negatively or positively in the cage.

Anyway, here are some vids to watch in advance for UFC 284.  Enjoy...

UFC Free Fight:  Volk vs Holloway 3

UFC Free Fight:  Makhachev vs Oliveira

UFC Free Fight:  Rodriguez vs Fili

I wonder what everybody think about Volk going against Makhachev...  Will Volk make Makahachev look mortal or will Makhachev make it look easy?

Isn't this man's best feature to finish off his opponent with one punch? I can say why he felt the need to lose so much weight, I find it meaningless. What could be the reason for losing weight, is he going to wrestle or want mobility? We'll see what happens in this match, I think this decision will go against Lewis. If he loses the fight, he will immediately revert to his old form. Let's see what kind of fight we will watch on Spivac's side.
Basically, although losing weight doesn't always mean you lose power. There's extra weight behind your punches, but that might be at a cost of speed. Power, is basically a combination. So, what he might gain in speed, might mitigate the loss of strength behind those punches. Plus, a lot of people are just built different, which allows them to generate more power than the average person. Lewis, is very likely one of these people since he seems to have some of the more powerful punches in the division despite being relatively small compared to some of the fighters.

I don't know how much weight he has lost either, but it might be worth considering when putting your bets out there.

It's going to be fun watching Nick Diaz acting and I sure he will earn more money than he did in UFC last few years, he only had one fight since 2015
Probably one of the last fighters I'd think that would make a good movie star. It'll definitely be interesting to see. Yeah, I believe his last fight was against Robbie Lawler, and then the one in 2015 was against Anderson Silva which was deemed a no contest due to as far as I can remember both fighters having questionable drug tests prior to the fight? Then, I believe later Silva was deemed not guilty, and his first positive for steroids was false. I don't know, I can't quite remember, but I know it was very confusing. Weird, how Nick didn't get much else after that. Wonder, if it was because he had already failed several drug tests up to that point. Then, obviously giving him his retirement fight against Lawler which he lost quite convincingly.

notblox1, this is actually going to be funny. Imagine they actually put the actual neck deals in the movie. Nick Diaz smoking and fighting at the same time. That's going to be hilarious Cheesy.

Years ago when I was younger I always watched Van Damme movies and I was anxious to see the part where van dame kicked the bad guy

We expect:

We get:

Because Diaz brothers are involved Cheesy Even if Nate Diaz and Belgium kid really makes a movie. It will be only an action movie with few fighting scenes only. Dont even think that Nate will be the main antagonist. All these MMA or combat sport start rarely film in a movie that we see in cinemas. They are released straight on dvd (streaming platform now). I wish we would see Van Damme in real exhibition fight one day, to bad he is 62 already. I really think he would be good in octagon if he was in his prime.

Interesting news is coming from Jean-Claude Van Damme who is going to partner with Nick Diaz to act in his new action movie called Darkness of Man.
Everyone who loves martial marts must know about Van Damme and movies like Bloodsport, Kickboxer or Universal Soldier, but his recent movies are mostly lower quality.
It's going to be fun watching Nick Diaz acting and I sure he will earn more money than he did in UFC last few years, he only had one fight since 2015, thank you for that mister Dana White Huh

I wonder if Nick Diaz will also receive this famous kick:

Years ago when I was younger I always watched Van Damme movies and I was anxious to see the part where van dame kicked the bad guy, honestly I confess that even with the need to go to the bathroom I wouldn't go until I saw the part where van dame kicked the bad guy, so I'm already looking forward to seeing if I'll see the famous kick again

about Nick Diaz entering the world of cinema I would say it's a good thing, I hope he manages to make movies that can show MMA fights well, I know it's not easy to find a good studio because many movies I've seen talk about mma in the most were comedy and others the story was meaningless, the action montages were not good, they even made me wonder how it was possible that the matrix movie that was from years ago had such good quality that movies from 2020 - 2022

Derrick Lewis has apparently lost a lot of weight recently, not sure how true that is since I don't really keep up with everything outside of fight nights. It could have an impact on his power if so. I mean, he's never been the most technical of fighters, but has always had that power, which basically wins him the fights. So, if he has lost a bit of power, it could be easy money on Spivak. Since it's five rounds, I'm kind of expecting Spivak to win via knockout anyhow as Lewis does get sloppy when he's looking for that knock out.

At some point they will surely clash, I am just ahead of thinking on who's next for Jamahal Hill, and for me because Jiri Prochazka can return now a fight with Jamahal Hill the champion can be a great returned ticket that Dana White can give to the Samurai, it is really a bummer that Glover Texeira's age have come to his doorstep and have claimed his strength but I think if not Jiri Prochazka if Jamahal Hill next fight will be a win for him then the previous champion that lost his belt not because of a fight will be a great challenge for Hill,

Lately, I see a lot of Jamahal Hill on YouTube and social media. Before becoming a champ he was sort of a dark horse to me. Now he is everywhere. I see him challenging Prochazka, I see him saying he would love to beat Pereira (because Pereira is big and easily can move to light heavyweight).

I observe a strange tendency in UFC - fighters move to other divisions for a fight. Volkanovski to lightweight, both Pereira and Hill want to fight in light heavy, Chimaev from welterweight wants to fight Pereira in middle weight. Edwards is also barking on middleweight. Like all of a sudden everyone dont want to cut to fit in division.

Yeah, even though fights tried to turn his face more mature, he still looks young for his 29 years. Do you know that he is a huge Lego fan? He is not like most of adults, that likes Lego technic or Lego powered up series, he is fan of casual Lego Cheesy A kid in adults body.

As to the fight. Damn, wish it has ended differently. This doctor stoppage gives soil for another fight. Another fight Carl Cheesy I am 100% sure they will have another fight.

Michael Bisping has left a funny tweet about that:

After realizing that it has ended up in a doctor stoppage there is surely a reason that Deiveson Figueiredo would fight Brandon Moreno again, but moving up a division might halt for now, but Deiveson Figueiredo doesn't have any announcement yet if he's going to stay on the same division or if he's going to the bantamweight now, we just need to wait for it,

Speaking of Lego I also like Legoes well actually Mega Bloks I love Mega Bloks, Call of Duty, and their new brand Game Of Thrones well anyway Brandon Moreno is still a kid and I think it is always OK to make his mind at peace at something he enjoyed most and right now Lego are really a wort while play for me in my opinion,

Is this announced already? Because I start to see everywhere that they are going to fight, and somehow bookies think that Prochazka is an underdog. Maybe because Jiri had injury and it is impossible to recover in half a year?

Do you guys remember we talked about Dana White's show Power Slaps? Do you know how much participants earn? 2k for participation and 2k for the win. You can get brain damage, become deaf or even worse for just 2k. Imagine if what Ngannou told about insurance was true. You get 2k, spend more on doctors and end being crippled. Why UFC fighters get more, when both get a direct hit to the face and identically risk?

I wouldn't call it sloppy but it wasn't really thrown with close to 100% of the guy's strength.  We just got reminded of how chinny Rodrigues really is and that we should never ever forget.  Cheesy  And for sure he was winning.  He was on his way to winning it in a dominant fashion if he could keep up the pace for the next rounds.

Anyway, this sucks...  I thought the next event was gonna be this weekend.  :/  But yeah, I think Lewis wins.  I know Spivak has been looking good lately with a couple of back to back finishes vs Sakai and Hardy but I still think Lewis is a big test.
I call it sloppy, since he was wide open himself, and could have easily got chinned. The power behind the shot was obviously pretty decent, I'm just talking how he basically wiffed a few punches before that, and left his face wide open. Plus, he was lifting his chin. So, definitely needs to watch for that in the future, I don't think he'll get away with something like that against a little younger, and more volume fighter. However, it was a good knockout, and I'm not saying it wasn't deserved.

I'll probably go with Lewis just because it's hard to bet against him, however it depends on how much weight he's lost, and if that's going to impact him negatively or positively in the cage.

With Rodrigues, same here.  He's my pie shtter of the night.  Lol.  I was so confident that he'll win ashe has more experience in the UFC and showed what it looked like he overcame the chin issues...  Just to be reminded that it's still there.  But in his defense it really hit him harrrd.  Lol.
Yeah, and it wasn't even the best technique of a punch. It was kind of sloppy, but it worked. It did land hard, but Robocop should've seen that coming, I mean it wasn't the fastest, and like I said rather sloppy. However, he's getting on himself now, so he's looking very sloppy too. Still, thought he was winning the fight up until then, and landed some pretty nice shots himself. He just doesn't seem to have that chin that he used to have. I'm wondering if he'll be hanging up the gloves soon too.

Conor McGregor facing more bad news as he’s being accused of a pretty nasty assault on a woman. His slow motion downward spiral has been sad to see. Hopefully he gets his attitude together. He’s much more entertaining when he isn’t attacking women and elderly men. He’d better have one hell of a fighting comeback in the UFC or I think his days of being a celebrity may be numbered.

I think he has that great depression of his life when he injured himself in his last fight and he won't get any opportunity to fight again because his health is uncertain and it's really hard to put him back in the cage because this dude wanted to fight every champion out there or someone who is rising to become a superstar. As for him, he thinks he is all good for a fight and he hasn't gotten any offer for his comeback in the UFC. I wonder what will gonna be his future in the UFC after this incident.

That's what I call looking from the right angle. We saw that Jamahal Hill lost in his first belt protection match. Let me tell you why, some friends said that Jahamal slowed down in the last rounds because Glover was so battered, but they were wrong. After hitting the high kick, he was throwing high kicks again, and when he tied the hits, he was throwing completely finishing hits, although he could not finish. That's why Glover deserved respect. What will happen when Jiri Prochazka returns from injury? Or is there any chance of winning when faces Magomed Ankalaev? Totally the opportunity has come to him now he can sleep with the belt it's ok , they will wake him up in the first fight.

The situation right now is not good for Glover Texeira their rematch was canceled and right now that his age has caught up to him this is not really looking good for old Glover Texeira, but for Jiri Prochazka for me and this is just my opinion I really think that Magomed Ankalaev can beat Jiri Prochazka but I really think he can Jiri Prochazka will put a great fight against Magomed Ankalaev for sure he can surely watch the fight between Magomed Ankalaev VS Jan Blachowics for sure Jiri Prochazka can sure study someone to prepare for a fight and I guess he can put a decent fight but Magomed Ankalaev is sure a tough one to beat, that is why I am excited about Jiri Prochazka VS Jamahal Hill fight,

Congratulations to Jamahal Hill for winning the title, I don't think he will hold it for a long time, but he can be proud for being the one who made Glover Teixeira retire.
I was wrong about many of my predictions for UFC 283 and I think saga between Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo will continue.
I want to see someone new in flyweight division who can make it more interesting, but this two guys are very close and small things decide winners.
Moreno looks like a child next to a women from UFC who made interview with him Smiley

I was wrong in my two picks and that is the main and co-main fight, pretty much Gilbert Burns has easily dominated Neil Magny, and because of their size difference you can surely see how it will end, Magny is no match for Burns,

Brandon Moreno has already proven that he is a different fighter and that he is constantly improving while Deiveson Figueiredo has stayed the same well maybe because he is planning on moving up a Division and he is not focused which is what I think he underestimated Brandon Moreno so much,

Derrick Lewis has apparently lost a lot of weight recently, not sure how true that is since I don't really keep up with everything outside of fight nights. It could have an impact on his power if so.
He is still going to heavier than Serghei Spivak, and maybe he feels better but since he started to lose weight he lost several fights.
Maybe his punches now have less power than before but all fighters he faced recently are top class like Ciryl Gane, Tai Tuivasa and Sergei Pavlovich.
Losing against this guys is no shame and any fight with Black Beast is very interesting to watch.
