^  Yup.  I was expecting Woodley to take advantage of the smaller cage but no.  He was passive as usual and wasn't able to fully use his explosiveness vs Burns.  And Burns exploited it.  Good match.

Can't wait for the next one.

A disappointing comeback for Woodley.
Indeed but we saw how Gilbert cleanly burned him so there's really nothing we can complain about Grin. That cut on his right eye (that's huge ouch) punished him all throughout the fight. That's why you may noticed that he ended up hugging every time they're having a clinch especially on the late rounds.

Burns completely dominated him. He is now having a 6 win streak Shocked. What's next? Maybe a title shot with Kamaru. Let's see.

A disappointing comeback for Woodley. It could be ring rust from the long lay off. He is already out of title contention and may need two or three impressive bouts before he can be back. Maybe it's time for the former champ to retire, he's already 38-years old anyway. I don't see him winning against upcoming fighters at welterweight unless he does a Daniel Cormier.

It doesn't look like Woodley has much of a size advantage.  I thought he was taller and bigger but he isn't.  Dropping some action on Burns ML at 2.45 (FJ odds).  I think I'm gonna go with Sakai and Chookgian too.

You guys should also know that the cage for this event is 20ish percent smaller.  So bet accordingly.

Even i do not want to see the rematch between Masvidal and Nate Diaz but McGregor and Nate Diaz trilogy would be a great fight as the second fight was really close
It's not as appealing as it was before. Nate loss his last fight while Conor won. I believe Conor is gunning for a title shot and I feel like Nate is not the right fight to make for him to move closer. At least Nate has to register a convincing win to make himself relevant and back in the mix again.

Where is this fight island situation, i have not heard about any media revealing the location.
Location to be announced. Maybe next week or at a later date.

I want to see Usman and Masvidal next and i do not see the BMF coming back again unless McGregor wants that title.
I thought Usman vs Masvidal was a done deal but listening to Dana, it looks like negotiation among the three parties have fallen apart and it's most likely due to disagreement in revenue shares. I think that's the reason he threw other names to fight for the title.

To be honest, I want to see Mike Tyson competing in the ring for the last time (maybe). I have watched Mike Tyson's video, he looks strong and tough despite the influence on the age factor, the charity fight is not just entertainment but will greatly help the crisis when lockdown up and I fully support if this match will be held.
Even i was impressed by the training video but going for a real fight at 53 is really not a bright idea. Mike Tyson needs to be smart and pick his opponent like Floyd Mayweather who fought a very tiny fighter for millions in Asia and he should do the same rather than fighting someone who is dangerous. I am a fan of Mike Tyson but no idea why he want to fight for real at a really old age.

Personally, I'm not interested in Masvidal-Diaz rematch or a McGregor-Diaz trilogy. Not that I don't like Diaz but I'd rather see more Masvidal & McGregor fight someone new. That's more exciting to me.
Even i do not want to see the rematch between Masvidal and Nate Diaz but McGregor and Nate Diaz trilogy would be a great fight as the second fight was really close and somehow McGregor was able to edge that and in the first fight McGregor was stopped and so it would be great to see their trilogy.

In the same interview, Dana also said he might make new announcement/update on Fight Island.

Dana White just announced that bantamweight title fight will probably be Petr Yan vs Jose Aldo for the vacant UFC.
If Jose Aldo can cut the weight properly i expect him to win the vacant belt as Petr Yan just have a aged Urijah Faber in his profile to get a push for the title and i doubt whether he is ready for the belt.

Also, this news. Mike Tyson and Wanderlei Silva in a bareknuckle fight. Someone might die hehehe.
The offer is $20 millions for a bare knuckle fight, do they pull those numbers to shell out that kind of money. I have seen some bare knuckle fights and it is really brutal as the face looks like pulp after the fight and it is really like watching a horror movie.

Usman's next title fight is not going to be Conor McGregor. It's going to be one of the top contenders at 170 and list includes Masvidal, Woodley/Burns, Edwards, and Covington. He said he's not interested in the BMF title defense and would rather focus on the UFC title right now.
I want to see Usman and Masvidal next and i do not see the BMF coming back again unless McGregor wants that title.

Mike Tyson and Wanderlei Silva would be madness, i would prefer them to retire and not come back even for a exhibition fight.

Interesting for sure and I would watch that, crowd or no crowd.
I have not seen Petr Yan fight live and only heard his name recently and i will watch this fight to see whether Jose Aldo can win his second belt and if he could that would be epic.

Jose Aldo deserves it. I reckon that he won his fight against Marlon Moraes for the bantamweight title eliminator of December last year. Dana might be giving him his rightful share of opportunity.

Also, this news. Mike Tyson and Wanderlei Silva in a bareknuckle fight. Someone might die hehehe.
Jose Aldo was supposed to fight Henry Cejudo and because of the pandemic he could not take that fight and he fully deserved the fight.

What is the situation with Kamaru Usman and Conor McGregor as i have seen social media news that Conor McGregor is going after the third title and Jorge Masvidal who was supposed to fight Kamaru Usman will be taking on Nate Diaz for a rematch. Are these fights confirmed or just bullshit news.
They're just trying to measure each other in social media. Dana talks about those two fights in his recent interview with ESPN. Usman's next title fight is not going to be Conor McGregor. There were rumors that Conor McGregor will be fighting for the title but i do not think that the UFC will make that fight without the audience as he always attracts huge live gates around $15 to $20 million dollars and the UFC do not want to miss that.

Kamaru Usman is calling out McGregor but he is yet to respond anything publicly and if he is smart he will not take that fight now and rather fight Nate Diaz for the trilogy.

I just hope it won't be something like Adesanya vs Romero.  Lol.  Wrong move by giving Romero a chance imo.  Adesnya should've just waited it out til Costa could fight.
Romero is always a bad match up for anyone in the division as they know how powerful he is and Adesanya was more cautious on not getting hit by a train and Romero too pulled back and was never in the momentum throughout the fight, every round i was expecting now we will see some fireworks but it never happened and if he was waiting for Paulo Costa then it would have been a wrong move as his last fight was last year in UFC 241 and still he is not ready to compete.

^  But really..  His recent 'boring performances' were vs Thompson and Maia, who the former is a counter striker like himself and the latter a BJJ specialist.
I haven't watched enough replays of Burns yet to expect a boring match up.  Come to think of it, Burns could win if Woodley doesn't go full on aggro and push the pace himself.
The first two minutes of the fight will give you an idea about the game plan of Woodley, this is a hard spot for Woodley as this is the first fight after loosing his title and if he looses this fight then he will not be able to grab the title anytime soon and hence i think he will take this fight safe and it will be boring like Thompson and Maia fight.

It takes two to tango, there were many fights that we expected to be great never fulfilled, the recent examples are Derrick Lewis and Francis Ngannou who were heavy strikers and everyone expected a knockout but it turned out to be worst fights in history with the lowest punches thrown in history and then comes Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero which i thought to be a war but turned out to be a boring fight, Woodley was involved in many boring fights and if Burns could stay away from the punches in the first two rounds then there is a real chance that Burns could win the fight.

^  Hah!  We'll see...  He does need to sell the fight esp after the biggest loss of his life.  Wink  I just hope it won't be something like Adesanya vs Romero.  Lol.  Wrong move by giving Romero a chance imo.  Adesnya should've just waited it out til Costa could fight.
Woodley is yet to click with the fans as he always finds excuses for his boring performance and he had some good knockouts but that did not earn him the respect needed and if he could defend the belt for a few times then he would have considered a worthy contender for GSP, but with the loos i do not see that happening.

The problem i see is that, i have no idea the shape of Woodley and if he could perform like he used to do in the past he will win the fight standing and this fight does not have any huge hype behind it like the rest of the Woodley fights Grin.
