Even earlier i said that the reason Dana is adament to carry on with the event is because of money even though he was saying he had the money and he does not need money, but the company needs money and for that they need to put out fights and now the media executives might have come to a conclusion that they will compensate something and it would be risky and there will be backlash if something wrong happens everyone will take the blame and it will not be good for business in the long run.In the words of Khabib, i am Khabib and not Corona Virus to control this fight . UFC 249 prolly has started as one of the most anticipated events of the year... To becoming like a filler event between events.

I speculate that Dana is creating a new storyboard for Conor and Khabib where Conor might be made to fight the winner of El Cucuy versus Justin Bieber. If Conor wins the interim championship, Khabib cannot avoid him anymore.
These situations cannot be scripted, this fight with Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje will be really interesting because of their contrasting fighting styles and hopefully Justin Bieber will be the special guest referee If Just Gaethje wins then all the plans for a high profile fight against Khabib and Tony will vanish, the winner of this fight will face Khabib to unify the title.

Rose Namajunas pulled out of the UFC 249 for an undisclosed reason (source) It's probably because of the COVID-19 threat or that she was not expecting to fight soon so she didn't prepare/train.

Yeah, that's the thing. It's not easy to work on new strategies on short notice no matter how good you are. I don't really know but since they both love to strike and knock people out, we can expect another bloody stand up fight. Tony has slick submissions though and that could make the difference in this fight.~

That is the risk every fighter who is fighting during this lockdown is taking, they cannot prepare in the gym as they are forced to shut and you cannot find training partners who could help you to prepare during this period and i will not be surprised if all the fights does not live up to the expectation of the fans and i wonder they will see an increase in PPV sales as majority are jobless and the illegal streaming services will be the place where everyone searches to view the event. . ^ Yup... The MMA fans does not have the luck to watch a dream fight like Khabib and Tony, when the fight was initially put together it was not a big deal as both were up coming talents and with every missed opportunity the hype started to build and now i thought the fight would go through for the fifth time but then the fucking virus has other plans and even though the UFC is moving forward with the event and none of the fighters are injured we wont be seeing this fight. If Tony looses this fight then we will never see this fight happen and then it will be known as the worst match up in MMA or combat sports history. Is Ferguson-KhabibCursed on not?

The funny thing Dana said during the interview is that he is planning to conduct the event on a private island and they are not even planning to reveal the details because he doubts whether there will be any sanctions imposed if they reveal the location now, which means they are expecting heat conducting this event and yet he is confident that he will be able to conduct future events. It is not about Khabib wanting to fight, his gym was forced to shut down because of lock down and Dana White informed him that the fight would probably take place in the UAE and he took the flight to UAE but the government did not allow Khabib and his team to stay and they were put in a hotel in the airport and they said they will lock down everything and hence Khabib and his team had nowhere to go than forced to move to Russia and once they landed in Russia they too enforced the lock down. The news about private jet is not authentic according to Khabib.
