I kind of feel that he will not gamble again. The reason why I feel is the larger is the bankroll, the more a person wants to gamble. And if someone really wants to gamble again even in imagination, he starts to spend quickly but in small amounts so that he will have a larger bankroll while he will gamble. However, he is already buying so much so quickly and spending off the money fast investing in assets, that might mean he doesn't want to have any funds in hand to gamble away. That is nice. But but, we can never really say since the gambling addiction and temptation can kick in any time!

Money runs out quickly for me even though I only spend it on something useful! OK except for my gambling, but normally I spend just as much on outside entertainment so my gambling budget is as small as 3 or 4 dinners plus movies outside for a month.

But yes,,, I got your point and that is what I am saying, I do not agree with OP that what the winner did was throwing money away. House is a special investment most people dream of but never have.

I don't know if you have met someone in real life who won big. But I would say that this is the obvious thing to do first, shower your family with gifts like house and everything. But the thing is that most gamblers who have seen and experience this has some kind of itch to scratch up.

So I would say that there is a 50% that this kind of people, who suddenly have a lot of money because of gambling might turn into a habitual or even worst addicts in the future, just saying. Unless he is really surrounded with people that will give his good advise and not just people who want to take advantage and have some money from this guy.

Can we really confirm that he really won that amount of money in gambling? I mean he might be one of those gamblers that said they won but actually they are not in the long run. Buying a house and lot after winning that huge amount of money but if... if I will be winning that kind of amount, I will be using a different approach on it.

I will use a big portion of it to buy house and lot and some will be put into different investments (like stocks and crypto etc.) and some will be put into business. In that case, I will be using my winnings to grow it again for the future. Having huge money doesn't mean that you need to buy what you want already. You need to manage it too if you don't want to end up broke again.
