Apparently , the activity changes every 1210000 units of the UNIX timestamp.

This equates to 14 days , 6 minutes , 40 seconds.

This means , after 3026 2 week periods , you would expect to gain 42364 activity.

But no , you would get only 42350 activity.

TLDR; Every 116 years you will lose out on 14 activity. Sad right ?

In order to make this thread more productive, here are some of the next timings :-

( All times in GMT )

7/7/2015 11:53:20
7/21/2015 12:00:00
8/4/2015 12:06:40
8/18/2015 12:13:20
9/1/2015 12:20:00
9/15/2015 12:26:40

Here is a list of all the ACCURATE start dates of the 14 day periods till 2060 !

FAQs of the Activity system
(All of these can be found stickied in the Meta , but just in case)

Q : How is activity calculated ?

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Q : Help ! My activity (or rank) has not activated yet , even though I have sufficient posts and have posted in sufficient time periods !

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Outdated. It occasionally takes much longer to update, but still an hour on average

So useful for me. Thank a lot about infomation.

Is it Tuesday 8th March or Tuesday 15th March for the next activity increase?
I've lost my bearings on it as I'm nowhere near a member upgrade.

Thanks.

Great spreadsheet whoever did it.

This sheet contain the TTL activity for all members, regardless of when they started login first time on this
Forum ?

Yes, the time activity updates is the same for everyone (well maybe a few fractions of a second difference) no matter when you signed up or first logged in. The only difference from what's displayed and your clock at home would be timezones so if you properly convert it it'll be the same.

This,

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

is not very clear at all.

really? that's clear enough for me. basically it's telling us that we can only get 14 activity for each activity periods that we posted in. and there's a list of activity periods in the first post.

Finally, a new member that's got the system spot-on I've seen people try and interpret the system in so many different ways it's funny.

Just writing some code
I am completely new to this bitcointalk world, and I didn't understood anything about periods.. In my profile I see that my number of posts equals number of activities. .. Are they different?
And how rank increases, if I completed posting 60 posts, wont I be upgraded to member rank???
 I am very confused...
You can earn at most 14 activity for each two week period. To earn that activity, you post. You can earn at most 14 * the number of two week periods you have posted in. After that amount, any further posts you make will not affect your activity.

Just looking for peace
What happened to the .Doc file showing all TIL Dates Huh

I see it as blank Undecided

It wasn't blank, a new sheet was created and moved to the front so at first glance there were only 1's visible.

I just edited the sheet to bring the time stamp list back to the front.
Thank you! Smiley

I know "legendary" status is random after 750, but I haven't come across anyone that has hit that title at 750...have we seen any of them, or is the randomness more heavily weighted towards needing more activity?
My main account was pretty lucky, I think I reached Legendary right near 800 activity if I remember right. theymos also posted a list of the luckiest and unluckiest Legendary users if you want to take a peak at that. Looks like the activity rank is truly random, I don't think there's any sort of weighting towards higher numbers when determining what activity a user needs to become Legendary.

Interesting...
by looks of it , mogrith is luckist of'em all...
