So I bought BTC at £9000, made a nice amount. Is it a good idea to now sell this and move that money into alt coins? or should I  sell half BTC and buy back in after alt season is finished?

What do you think?
You are asking for financial advice instead of having your own research.

If your profit was there, you can sell the half and turn back your initial capital. And ready your money for reinvestment when there is a correction again. But if you're asking me if you're selling your bitcoin and switching to altcoin, that is an extremely bad idea, there's no altcoin that gives a better potential that gives a good profit someday, mostly all altcoins were made now by the pump and dump and some are being manipulated by most known people.

Stick on bitcoin and wait until your profit was there.

that's £31k profit(a pretty good one) in the current price of BTC

if you ask me I am ready to withdraw it but it is your money but just like what bL4nkcode said if you have a spare budget and can still afford to hodl then why not but if you are uncomfortable with hodling any further in fear of losing profit, then go ahead withdraw or you can do what you said "withdraw the half then just buy back again". in the end it is your choice you should have confidence on what you decide.

Everyone has their own motives and plans for their reasons to enter Bitcoin.

While its nice to get other peoples ideas they/we cannot  predict the future but
there is a lot of talk about $100k and $200k realistic targets so bear that in mind.

Most of all, suit yourself and reward yourself if you feel you should, there is
no right or wrong.

Finally, forget Alt season, focus on Bitcoin Season(s)

So are you satisfied with your current profit? If so, then go ahead, take your profit and be happy. But, are you sure you invest your profits in altcoins? You do know that altcoins are very volatile, right? Those "altcoin season" might end anytime and if you don't exit quick, you will lose most of your profit.
I would instead suggest you to keep holding your bitcoin if you want to make decent profit in a less risky process. Still looking forward to invest in altcoins? Then invest in those that are well known. I would go for ETH.

It depends on the reason why you bought Bitcoin in the first place. If you bought it to double it’s value and you think it’s the right time to sell it then you can sell them now, but if you bought it because you see it’s potential or it could be of use to you or your future then hodl it. Because if I were in your shoes and I don’t think there is a need for me to withdraw it then I’d just have to hodl it a little more until I need the money.

I think many suggest hodl or sell it if you need funds...
you have got a profit of 60% - 70% so the questions you ask are difficult to answer correctly. I personally follow the advice of the majority who say 'hodl if you don't need or sell if you need the money'.

If you have lots of spare, enough budget for a year or more, I would say keep hodling for another year.

But if you really need it just now then that's okay to sell after all you gained much profit from it.

Your choice if you dont still need some money then you can opt to hold but if you do like to diversify then you can do it but be sure on sticking with top altcoins in the market and never consider those low caps.

Able to bought when it was still on 9k was impressive because not all is really having the feeling on buying on that time since everyone was still on doubt and the call or buying was just actually right on the spot.

Time to sell your btc? It depends on your needs and your upheading plans because not all would really be having the same mindset when it comes to investment. If you do saw some opportunity
in alts then selling out some portion of profits isnt really actually a bad decision to make.

If you sell, any profit over £12300 incurs capital gains tax.

Alts usually follow bitcoin price.

Sell a little by little if you don't need much money.

You take the profit and you still keep some bitcoin in your possession. Until the price goes high, you rinse and repeat that strategy so every up, you get to sell bitcoin at good prices.

But it's best if you have left a portion for long term hold.

You are asking us? All answers you will get will be to keep holding. What was your plan when you bought? Since you obviously entered Bitcoin to make profit if you are asking when to sell. Without having a clear plan and targets set then you can consider yourself lucky to have made this kind of profit.

My plan was to hold, which I did, I may take some profit and use that for Alt season. I don't know about lucky - if you buy and hold then sell at the right time you make money.

If you like you can sell or even buy more, but bitcoin is a deflationary currency. I see bitcoin as a currency people should value than fiat and should also be saved for upspring and future generations because the price of bitcoin will later increase more and more higher than today. If you need money urgently, you can sell.
