I blame myself in a way that tells me to be aware of how much money I'm losing when I'm on a losing streak, I don't necessarily hate myself but shouting curses and telling myself harsh words is one way to go when it comes to making sure that I don't bottle up the anger that I'm feeling when I'm gambling and so it doesn't burst out when I'm not gambling anymore and it saves the people that I'm interacting with that I'm not cranky after gambling. So far I'm doing just fine with that kind of set up in my gambling life, I'm all out of anger after gambling and no one is annoyed with me after gambling so it's win-win for me.

Hmm I'm curious, what is it that makes you blame yourself for the losses that you have experienced and why do you start the same thing? If that's true then maybe I would say that you are not a responsible gambler in the sense that you can't accept any results at the end of the session, but if it only happened once, meaning you didn't make it a habit and only at certain moments then maybe I would say that it's quite normal because everyone can never always avoid making mistakes that make them disappointed or lose, but if you keep repeating the same thing and with the same reaction at the end of the session especially when losing then maybe as I said above you are not able to accept the fact that you lost and that means there is no responsibility in your gambling approach, logically if you are always angry with yourself for losing then why not find a solution? For example, reduce the budget so that at the end of the session you don't feel too disappointed with yourself or another way may be to quit.

He is probably repeating same thing, whenever he notices he's lost lots of money while gambling. That doesn't make him irresponsible. I actually chuckled reading his response, in the sense that it could be his way of cautioning himself for spending so much money gambling. Since he's not worried on the development, he's all fine with it and nobody is getting disturb for his action. Then his reactions shouldn't be a trouble either. Gamblers have different ways of dealing with losses. Some time when I lose the reactions from me doesn't match my normal action or behavior. He only needs to find something else to make him feel happy when in such a mood. So that it won't eat him up in the process. It's always a thing we should expect as gamblers. Not all gamblers, though.

Yes, I understand that every gambler has his own way of approaching his gambling, and from what you said it seems to  be true that that is the way he always does, namely by scolding himself when he loses, but I don't know what the purpose is because it will be a futile action if he basically always repeats it in the sense that there is no change that leads to prevention, especially if he always repeats with a large budget amount that he basically cannot account for. So the main point here that I suggest is that it is better to slowly reduce the amount of the budget, and for the problem of his way or reaction in accepting defeat it does not matter if it still wants to be applied every time he experiences a losing situation, and with this then obviously there is a change that occurs that he will not really feel the amount of large losses that will keep him in a good financial balance.

Hating yourself after making a gambling stake or hating yourself after a gambling attempt is not supposed to be so. A lot of people regret or hate themselves after making a stake especially when the lose the bet or some other persons may also get angry when the place a bet and won despite the odds and wish they had staked more.
The reason most of these persons end up hating themselves is because they had probably staked more than they can afford to lose and actually still lost the bet. If a gambler continues to stake in that manner they end up being an addict. Gambling is supposed to be a fun act unfortunately it isn't for most people.

I have never had major losses in gambling simply because I am generally not a gambling person and losing does not force me to win back. The game is interesting to me only from the point of view of game systems, strategies and chances. I like to collect interesting observations on the internal logic of gambling and their internal patterns, which are very often implicit.
I don't even know what would motivate me to bet big money without a significant chance of winning. In addition, people who lose large sums usually have poor risk management and money management. It's always very bad and always ends in some kind of drama. Unfortunately it is so. Limit your losses first.

When you say serious losses, that means a large amount, right? Even though I have never experienced a large amount of loss, I don't want to experience it, and I will never experience it because I have limits that I set when I play gambling.

And these limits are only a small amount of money, so even if I lose, it's not a big deal. Even if I lose, it's fine because I don't really take it seriously; instead, it's just for fun.
Yes, it is a big loss if we cannot have clear boundaries when playing gambling. We gamble only to get entertainment and not to chase victory. And we also can't take gambling too seriously because the more serious we are, the more likely we will be eager to win. And when that occurs, we will probably forget our limits and start to experience losses that get bigger and bigger over time.

It's good if you have clear limits when playing gambling using small amounts of money. This can prevent your losses from becoming large because before you lose a lot, you can leave the casino and not return. Gambling is just for fun and it should be that way.

You and other people must be having a hard time because losing games. Remember that you can't control what will happen when you play games, so be careful and responsible. Losing runs can be hard on your feelings when you're uptight. Seek help from family, friends, or a professional. Staying healthy and happy is more important than getting rich at the casino. Others care about you and want to help you. Help is available if you or someone you know is having trouble with gambling

I think everyone must have felt unlucky when they were gambling and sometimes they can also feel lucky once in a while, we have to understand that most gambling has a risk of losing and it is not uncommon to see someone who is unlucky in their gambling and continues to experience defeat, causing them to become addicted. , there are several factors why people can become addicted, first because they chase their losses and try continuously so that one day they can win big, second because they have experienced victory once, so they continue to gamble hoping to get lucky again.

Gambling is a game of chance, therefore we should not expect too much from gambling, think of it as having fun then you won't be disappointed even if you have gambled many times, but if you expect too much profit and you can't get it then it will be very disappointing. For yourself, I never hated myself just because I was unlucky in gambling because I used it to have fun.

In your entire gambling journey, have you ever had a series of losses to the extent you hated yourself so much for being so unlucky?

If there's a gambler who ends up thinking like that, better find another hobby as gambling is not for them.

To the point that a gambler hates themselves because of being unlucky in gambling, their minds are not properly working anymore.

I have experienced several big losses in my entire gambling journey but have not ended up thinking like that.

Just in today's lottery as we do have a lottery game in our country to guess 3 numbers. If you are correct you will win and I will say that you will win a decent amount of money. Today I haven't been able to bet because of my laziness due to the weather, and guess what that number that I've been betting on since January was the result. So I was mad earlier today, which caused me to do house chores rather than sleep. But this is really gambling as it is not my lucky day so we should also learn to accept our losses.
Gambling is a game that has its most part luck dependent and so when gambling you just have to make sure you are risking that which you can afford to loose just should Incase you are not Lucky enough on that day but then just make sure you are not going irresponsible and you are taking calculated risk.

Some gamblers do say that as you gamble daily it brings you close to your winnings days and maybe this was a typical case such that on the supposed winning day you didn't gamble you shouldn't feel too bad yet you may still have another Lucky day ahead just make sure to still stay responsible gambling and not letting this make you anxious and start gambling aggressively because that will only be irresponsible on your side and lead you to possible gambling addiction.

If I experience series of losses in gambling I would not hate myself for being unlucky but rather hate myself for being unable to control myself by continuing to gamble even when I've lost a lot already, for not knowing that after loosing a lot consecutively, I should have taken a break. Gamblers are always loosing, but different people handle their losses differently. As a gambler who is already hating themselves for being unlucky, you make yourselve one step closer to getting depressed which is dangerous for health.

Knowing your limit in gambling is everything and I can bet that 90% of all gamblers fail to access this control. It's very hard to stop gambling when losing because your brain and thought will all be focus on trying to get back that win and their is this stupid thought that always come with it too which is the thought of gambling all instead of stoping at the moment of high losing spree.
.
As a gambler I have had my bad days but am just greatful that I didn't let it destroy me because I realized where the urge was taking me to and had quickly stop and revised my pattern if not my days would have been filled with lots of regrets.

I often tell the story of my gambling journey in the past where I felt like a bad addict and I answered yes, I have experienced that.
at that time, before I recovered from addiction and had time to leave this forum for a moment, I really regretted selling something valuable because I was tempted by a previous bet which had made me lose and chased after that loss, but in the end I couldn't think wisely, all the money I had was lost. in gambling and finally I left gambling, I didn't go home and left the house for more than a week. I just isolated myself in a building. I thought about regretting that I couldn't control myself and had sold all my valuables and the item I sold was the last valuable item. that I have.
but luckily someone I didn't know passed in front of me and saw my condition like a depressed person and long story short I told that person about my regrets and he advised me to go home and I finally told my family about everything. I was addicted and finally I was matched by a woman who is now my wife who helped me recover from addiction.
this story happened before I got married and now I have forgotten everything about my past and I have become a more responsible gambler and have never regretted anything I did in the past.

It's normal to regret losing at gambling, but always apply wise thinking to think that tomorrow we will get compensation for the losses we experienced, whether from our work salary bonus or from anywhere else, but be assured that these losses are your valuable experience and you don't need to regret them.

So, let's share our worst gambling experiences, have you ever hated yourself so much due to lack of winnings in gambling? To what extent, and how did it end?

Do you still hate yourself even now?  Grin

Lets discuss.
I don't have any worse experience with gambling but I would love to share my friend's experience, for people to know what greed can cause.

It happened that a friend of mine had a good prediction of football matches he bets on and had the slip of the same games in four places. And each of the bet slips results in $5k, making it a total of $20k.

Could it believe a cash out of $4k per slip($16k total) was brought out for him to withdraw, he refuses to take the cash out, all because he believes that the two remaining bets would played as predicted, not knowing that it would cut(destroying his whole bets).

Ever since that experience happened to him, he kept hating himself because if he had withdrawn the cash out like that, he would have been richer than waiting for all his bets to finish playing before he could withdraw.

That's the worst experience ever, I have seen someone experienced. Someone's breakthrough in life was denied because of their greedy nature to win each of their bet games

Don't let others control your BTC -> self custody
I gamble so little that I've never really regretted it. Talking about hating myself for it is definitely a step further, so I haven't felt like that, ever. I know how regret feels though because I felt that when I thought about the bitcoins I sold in 2017 and 2018, but it's important not to dwell on it too much and be positive. If I ever start to hate myself for this I'll immediately stop gambling. Know guys that it's a sign that you're on your way to depression and possibly, one day, suicide.

Don't gamble at first but if you initiate it then don't gamble for whole day because it can then ruin your life and you will leave all other activities for gambling. Accept success and defeat both because they are part of game and don't be too busy in gambling as it is not a suitable field.
Gambling all day long happens because they are already in the game and have enough addiction, they keep less and less and do not want to stop.
The bad effect is indeed to abandon all activities, it is not very good.

There should be management and when to stop.
If there is no control then there is no time to stop, losing will make them more eager to continue gambling, let alone big wins then they want to continue playing.

It's about lust control and greed, I myself am even too eager to keep playing when I always lose.
But I try to control it all so as not to fall into bigger losses.

I love playing slots and betting, but it has its limits.

Back then I was just a student and had a small savings and when I got home there is no food for our family, and I decided to make more money by risking it so that I could buy decent meal for all of us, and it end with me losing, and decided to stop when I only have an exact amount to buy snack for all of my family member that day.
I was trying to remember if there was really one point of my life that I have hated myself for losing and for gambling. But since you've mentioned when you were still a student.

I think that I've got one before when I was already gambling and still a student back then. No job but just getting full support from my parents and it's not that big at all.

Like using my money to bet on some games, like in a physical unusual casino and as it should be for my budget, I've spent it there and kaboom I've got nothing left. So, we've got the same experience on how we've blamed ourselves for gambling and having that expected loss.
There's always that feeling that we are really that having those kind of regrets on doing gambling specially on the time that you are really that losing big or its your first time on losing that huge
amount that you havent done before. You would really be having those thoughts that you shouldnt have gamble in the first place. In my own experience then i have been into this condition several times
but i do still end up on playing again. Why? getting bored and being enjoyed on playing gambling is there. This is why i cant leave up gambling but now that i have been able to learn those lessons
then i could still be able to hover myself that responsibly on gambling field. Gambling isnt bad as long you are really that having the control and responsible with your actions then
you should really be just that fine.

When I suffer lose streaks, that's when I feel like I'm bad in analyzing and I'm not capable become a gambler lol. Even though I only gamble small amount, but lose is still lose, no one want to lose, just like you're playing a competitive games e.g. MOBA or FPS, you're trying to play as best as possible.

Usually I will bet in safer choice to increase the probability to win.
It is the point of realization that you have lost continuously which results to regrets. Losing is not a new thing in gambling and loss is just something you will feel more when numbers are getting that big that it'll literally hurt your bank account not only your bankroll in gambling. The regret I have experienced is when I lost consistently for 3 weeks. Regret originated with the thought that gambling was really not for me. It is because I was chasing profit back then, that I became frustrated in each loss and for some reason it pushed me to play until I win back everything I lost. However, it is not how gambling works and happening to its players.

We would all be in that situation as long as we are here in this industry. It is just fine having regrets which means you are aware of how bad or good your career as a gambler is. What's important is to learn if you are committing mistakes or to accept things and prioritize saving yourself from huge loss. It is normal to chase win however, if you are being too eager of it, you often make wrong decisions driving you too much towards the game.

There is only one time that I regret in my gambling loss even though if I look at it right now the amount is considerably small, compared to my other losses.
And even though it is small back then it was due to the time and our current situation that moment, that makes it so heavy compared to my other loss that is way higher.

it must be a very difficult situation for you. Hopefully, it won't happen again in your life and gambling experience.
every gambler must have bad experiences in gambling. some even frustrate us.
I once spent my entire salary in one month on betting. That's the worst thing and what I regret the most when I don't have good financial management in gambling. it's just like money passing through your hands in a matter of hours.

Of course, every gambler will have had bad experience that may not be forgotten until now.
I sure that every gambler has experienced massive loss that left them really devastated.
This is very normal condition that occurs, but the attitude regarding conditions like this also depends on whether the gambler himself has responsibility or not.
Those who have sense of responsibility may only regret little but not make mistakes such as recovering from losses, but those who do not have sense of responsibility will definitely blame themselves and really hate the decisions they have taken.

I have experienced conditions like that but it has been quite long time and it all happened when I was often careless and gambled excessively, I couldn't even really accept reality and forgive myself for the mistakes that resulted in big losses.
The impact can be felt for quite long time, from incidents like this lose self-confidence and try to do anything to win, such as following the methods of other gamblers.
And this does not solve the problem but adds to the problem because the losses are much greater.
