I think Ngannou is very underrated because this is his first fight in boxing and he will fight Fury which is one of a champion in heavyweight division. Although Ngannou has no experience in boxing, but he's a world record the most powerful punch, he might able to put Fury on sleep with his one punch.

It seems like an exhibition fight. I checked Fury's record on https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/479205, but that specific fight was not listed, perhaps it hasn't been updated yet.
Nope it's a professional fight, you can check it in Fury's record on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyson_Fury

You own the pen
I was wondering how this could happen but I now understand after reading Ngannou's flexible contract with PFL. This is probably the biggest payday in his career so good job to his manager or promoter for making it happen.

I can see it's the similar 10-point system but there's no mention of the number of rounds. I think Tyson will fight smart and play the long game since Francis doesn't have enough tank.

This was his dream contract and now that he gets it for real after leaving the UFC, he should really work hard to beat Fury no matter what happens because all he needs to do is to land those punches accurately and he also needs to have the right power to beat Fury because that's the only way he can win since Fury has the advantage when the fight will go for long. We know when MMA fighters switch to boxing they cannot handle fighting for 12 rounds since this is not something you just need to train for a few months to master, it took them years to be able to stand there and throw those punches for 12 rounds straight.

Tyson Fury confirms <— that can not be trusted or counted as a serious source. Fury talked much about his fights, but he or his opponent never sign contracts. Like the fight against Usyk. Fury confirmed also that they would fight, but instead they can not come to agreement and now Usyk fight someone else. I will wait for an official confirmation from both sides managers and promotion.

After calling out each other they finally going to go against each other it's a big favor for Ngannou as he will gain a lot of money compared to what he has earned from UFC its good that they have a long preparation for this fight as both fighters have long inactivity, especially Ngannou, both fighters are power puncher so both fighters will have a good chance for a knockout, I'd like to bet for Ngannou but since this is a boxing match Fury has all the edge, Tyson's ring generalship is exceptional.

It seems like everything they throw in the internet, they're making it happen, of course for the sake of money. I think we all have to agree that this is going to be a mismatch, obviously in favor of Fury. The guy literally had a lot of experiences in the heavy weight division, not to mention that he was born to box - so he knew every corner of the ring and survived the heaviest punches in this division.
While Ngannou who dreamed to become a boxer but actually did not happen, instead he fought in professional MMA has zero pro boxing experience. We have already seen enough that boxing and MMA is 2 completely different sports, though it's both the same contact sport, but totally different technically. MMA fighters tends to gas out at the middle of the scheduled round. Boxing may look like it's an easy sport than MMA, because you're basically just throwing punches and waiting for an opening, but boxing is actually more than that because when you gassed out and your feet is shaking, a huge chance you'll kiss the canvass.

This fight is only going to end up one way and that’s with Fury beating Ngannou badly. It never ends up well for MMA fighters in the boxing ring.

Fury is 1.1 betting odds favourite for a reason.
I wonder how many rounds there will be, I’m thinking 10.

Somebody post sportsbet.io odds for the fight in this thread when you see them.

It might be before 10 rounds hehe. Francis Ngannou has only reached the 5th round only once in MMA vs. Cyril Gane, a fighter who likes to fight at a distance. Gane's type of style does not force on his opponents to make them tired. However, Tyson Fury will be always in front of his face and force Ngannou to always take action and make mistakes. This will be over in 7-8 rounds or it might be earlier, I reckon. MMA fans should bring a big stretcher to carry Francis out of the ring after Fury is finished hehehehe.

I voted for Fury.

And the results is 10:1 for Tyson Fury against Francis Ngannou. Make sense, there are a lot of good and knowlegeable boxing fans here and they know what is this about. I do agree that Francis Ngannou will just have a puncher chance, and with that this could just be a exhibition match for Fury as him and Usyk are really bluffing each other and the first one to blink losses in the negotiation table.

At heavyweight there is always a possibility of a fluke knockout. Ngannou will certainly have a puncher's chance. Fury is much bigger in size and also a lot more skillful inside a boxing ring. It is highly likely that Tyson Fury wins a one-sided fight since he has all the advantages. Nobody should be under any illusion that this will be competitive but these sort of matches are what draw the most viewers. Fury is at the stage of his career, like Mayweather was against McGregor, where he has accomplished enough that he can just decide to choose the most lucrative opportunities instead of taking a greater risk against real contenders. Despite the objection by fighters like Usyk, I am certain he would immediately accept if he were given the same opportunity to fight an MMA fighter for tens of millions of dollars.

It seems like an exhibition fight. I checked Fury's record on https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/479205, but that specific fight was not listed, perhaps it hasn't been updated yet. Regardless, I believe this fight will be a one-sided beatdown dominated by Fury. Ngannou is primarily a UFC fighter, and they will be competing under the rules of boxing, where Fury is currently considered the best in his division though maybe not officially since Usyk owned 3 belts in the same division.

Sometimes, I wonder what's wrong with MMA fighters who think they can compete against boxing champions simply because they have strong punches. Much respect to the sports of MMA, but since this is going to be a boxing match, Ngannou will be schooled. He should have chosen some weaker heavyweights instead. I think he couldn't even defeat Joshua. But, well, this is where the larger money is.

Anyway, the odds this early show Fury as the huge favorite at 1.25. Ngannou, on the other hand, is the underdog at 4.00. I couldn't agree with those odds more.

Kinda hoping that they're doing Usyk and Fury, though I guess that it's really far from reality right now that Ngannou accepted the Fury match. I have high hopes for Ngannou to last the whole ordeal against a heavy hitter like Fury. The guy's jaw is hard as hell, and he's also one of the more capable boxers in the MMA world right now. Though that's the case, my bet will be on Fury winning this match fairly easily.

If its an MMA type of match Ngannou can easily pin Fury and choked him but since this is a boxing match where all the rules of boxing are applied I don't think Francis will have a chance to beat Fury, Ngannou agreed to the fight because he wants to make a lot of money and this is a trend right now MMA fighters shifting to boxing for more money, this is going to be entertaining and a real fight as both fighters are badest in their respective field, I hope Ngannou will get a good trainer who specializes in boxing.

Yeah, not surprised about this fight, when Usyk vs Fury negotiations collapses, sooner or later Tyson will have to look for a dance partner. But there are a lot of criticism about this fight though, specially that we all know that this is just a mismatch fight and Fury will have a lot of fun playing with Francis in this fight. And it can be considered as just another exhibition match, as it is a known boxer against a former MMA fighter. And we haven't seen a MMA fighter beat a decent and very highly skilled boxer. Only way for Francis is to win but one hail mary shot.

It's finally happening I just knew it was going to happen after the Usyk negotiation collapsed, Joshua and another Wilder fight are not attractive and profitable, he's been talking about this option and Ngannou is very much willing to sit down and have it done, both fighters have very long inactivity but that doesn't mean that both fighters cannot give us an entertaining fight.
I'm sure Fury will get the biggest share of the deal since he is the champion and the one that will attract attention since this is a boxing match Fury will be the overwhelming favorite because Ngannou's expertise inside the ring is more on grappling and he lacks ring generalship in boxing because we all know MMA fighters are flatfooted.
I can't wait to see the media promotion it is going to be Fury all over and will do all the talking just like he always does in all his previous fights

I've seen Tyson Fury fight a few times and he's always a lot of fun to watch, but I don't think I can say I've ever seen Francis fight before.  I'm curious if anyone who's been a big boxing fan for a long time can tell me, are any of these recent heavyweights anything like the heavyweight studs from back when (Tyson, Evander, Lennox Lewis, Foreman, of course Ali etc)?

I kinda stopped watching closely because for many years it had seemed that they were simply nothing comparatively.  A buddy of mine, natu visinia, was a pretty solid heavyweight so I would watch his fights, but he was just too old at the time to be great as he fought UFC before boxing. Otherwise no heavyweight has just really grabbed my eye.  Will we ever see one of those again?

This is boxing. Tyson Fury is a boxer. Francis Ngannou is a MMA fighter. Who is going to win? Tyson Fury is just still the superior while Francis Ngannou do not have boxing skills, he will just train for it, although there is time for that but I see him as the underdog.

Yes, but there are still hype around this fight though. Maybe what people want is how Francis can be at boxing because of the power he shows in the MMA. But as you have, Tyson is a boxer and so he has all the tools to offset the power that Francis possesses.

Fury was able to withstand Wilder's knockout punch, he went to the canvass and was able to recover in the first fight. But in the second he adjusted so well that Fury's can't hit him clean. In paper this is good, but Tyson is more superior, but good for Francis, as he will get his biggest pay.

No doubt, bookies will favor Fury when it comes to odds. He has the advantage when it comes to boxing.
We will see if Francis is up to boxing, he may discover that he will like this sports and may continue later on.
At least, get some money out of this before he is out of any sports. But Tyson should be cautious about the power punch from Ngannou.
He can be knock out if he is not careful inside the ring. Remember, upsets can happen all the time.

This fight is only going to end up one way and that’s with Fury beating Ngannou badly. It never ends up well for MMA fighters in the boxing ring.
Francis Ngannou will gas out completely after the 4th or 5th round and Tyson Fury will teach him some classic boxing lessons for someone who is making his boxing debut against a legend  Cheesy.

Great to see that Francis Ngannou was finally able to get a match up he is dreaming and after the fight he will understand why Dana White was not willing to make this fight happen  Cheesy.

Dana even prevented this fight to happen by matching Jon Jones vs Fury, you can imagine how furious he would be hearing this news. Francis took the risk of not signing another contract from UFC and got the PFL contract and this dream boxing fight but this is somewhat of a mismatch that Francis could terribly lose. Fury had been boxing since he was a kid, you can't just jump in and kickass someone like that. He needs a really good team to train him well while there is a long time to train.

I can say that Fury also chooses to fight Francis over Jones.  Cherry-picking or not, he gave Francis one chance of a lifetime and Francis will be forever grateful to Fury.

We saw fights of such even if it involved some celebrities but still we cannot change the fact that the one who is in his 'house' would more likely win. Tyson Fury has the advantage simply because boxers are used of running 12 rounds while fighting their opponents, there is a huge difference with stamina especially if the 'outsider' has nothing much of an experience to be in 12 rounds straight not to mention that fury himself is a hard hitter which would make it harder for Ngannou to stay in shape during the match. Ngannou is a great player in MMA but whoever exits his cave would be at the disadvantage.
