Midfield is very important in any squad. Barcelona have consistently performed well with a stable midfield. If the midfield is strong, and the players are experienced, the squad's performance is consistent. Chelsea's overall team situation is now unstable. So if only the midfield changes, their performance does not seem to be consistent. Chelsea need a stable match strategy. And with that they need some experienced players in their squad. Now Chelsea management has to spend big amount of money to strengthen the team.

Chelsea faced problem with holding and attacking midfielder but Graham Potter still not priority looking for new player on position leaving by Nkante after getting injured. Last success player sign as left forward and Chelsea right now have many option with attacking line but faced difficult on midfielder area.

Champion League knock out stage will begin on middle February and few days left before window transfer close actually Chelsea have bring new midfielder I think, but Graham Potter seems enough with his squad right now and confidence against Dortmund have the same poor performance at domestic league.

@Docnaster to be fair Chelsea’s injury crisis is a big reason why they failed to revive themselves, and all the player’s bought by them are future star’s hence they may not make much of an impact right away. Furthermore Potter will have to pray that no more injuries happen, and he’ll have to develop solid tactical plans for the champions league matches otherwise Chelsea will be eliminated quiet easily.

Even though the result was not making me feel satisfied but I do believe chelsea will be different when it will be facing dortmund. Potter has found a new strategy that is very suitable for Chelsea.

With Chelsea’s recent signings it is expected that we will see some improvements in the coming games, I can't say if those improvements will come in immediately or later but I'm sure the new signings will bring improvements and change things around. At the moment I think Chelsea have a higher probability of getting improvements with the recent additions than Dortmund who might lose some key players again in this window.
