I think that the inconsistency of the team doesn't play a role in the champions league. I mean, if you see that what a team needs to win is about how you have to beat the other team in any ways. It is wrong to say that this club is successful in the champion league just because of a mare qualification for the tournament.

Only money is not enough for the winning here in champions league because things are not easy as mostly feeling here we need combination of quality, skills and performance with some luck as well because we have many time teams won which was never been in frame for the win, but this happens because they have performance, quality and luck on same time which can't stop teams from the winning as happen in last season when Real Madrid won.

And they have no big name in the team just Karim Benzema and Modric were enough to take honour and in case of Manchester City and PSG is surely just missing of the luck with they have all other things in their bags hopefully this all will change, and they could be able to own this all in near future in presence of their respective coaches which are doing amazing stuff for years.

Both are down, but I prefer Chelsea who are more favored with all their downturn in the English league. Regardless between Chelsea and Dortmund have poor performance in domestic league but Chelsea have bigger chance in UEFA Champion League after spent much money for several new player recruitment. No doubt with how many new player arrived, Chelsea still difficult to win actually on last match against Liverpool.

Left few weeks later before 16 round UEFA Champion League begin and Chelsea or Dortmund still have enough time back to top performance, however with Chelsea have more experience in Champion League I think favorite and have chance for Chelsea lead to quarter final than Dortmund.
