I think we may forget about old Real which plan was just to collect as many starts as they were able to buy. We all know it did not end well.
That's one argument. Another - Real the most probably would spend their money on someone (much) younger who would stay with them for longer. What would CR7 bring them (except maybe extra $ from tshirts and postcards)?

And someone mentioned Zidane - I do not think Ronaldo has the same skills for management and/or training... maybe they may give him bunch of teenagers from team C and see what he will manage to accomplish.

Is it possible that it was a form of indirect approach so that Ronaldo was recruited again by Real Madrid, or was it purely just to practice without having high hopes of being able to enter the Real Madrid main squad. Because, if it was Ronaldo's intention to train there expecting to be recruited again by Real Madrid, then I think how unfortunate it is for a legendary player to use this method just to be able to play again in the Champions League.
But I think it's just to maintain Ronaldo's fitness by continuing to practice, considering that at this time Ronaldo is not bound by a contract to any club.

But yeah, let's see what happens, because usually when legends go back to their old clubs at least they have some plans but not to become players.

The absence of Mane and Manuel Neuer will not make Bayern Munich weak, they still have players who are experienced enough to replace Mane and Manuel Neuer. I admire Cristiano Ronaldo a lot however I do not think that it would be wise to bring a soon-to-be 38 year old forward to any major club in Europe. Everyone who has watched him play from his younger years would definitely agree that his quality of play is about 10% of what it used to be. We saw it during their World Cup games that he can't run, he can hardly dribble past anyone. Either he goes to Saudi-Arabia or consider accepting a substantial pay cut and to be a benchwarmer that plays 20 - 30 minutes in some games just as like we saw in the Switzerland and Portugese match.

Ronaldo is definitely not giving up on football, quite a lot of people expected that by now he would have officially retired from international football, but he is yet to officially release any statement to that effect, meaning that Ronaldo could actually play for Portugal again, maybe in the 2024 Euro tournament, and the good news for him is that coach Santos has been fired and there are rumors that Mourinho is about to take over, thus Mou might be interested in reuniting with Ronaldo for a few years in the international stage.

Having said that, my respect goes to Real Madrid for giving Ronaldo somewhere to train whilst he looks for a new club, i don't think there is any chance in hell that he is going back to Real Madrid, but they have given him the honor he deserves as a club legend, to use their facilities for the meantime so he can keep fit before moving to a new club, once he finds one. He definitely wants to play in the CL again, and i hope he finds a CL team sooner rather than later.

Neuer certainly will not playing and it is confirmed he will ended this season early but for Mane i think there is a chance to this player to recover considering first leg will be held on February so in the next 2 months maybe Mane will playing although there is no official statement regarding Mane current conditions but lets assume if these players cannot be played on the first leg against PSG and for Mane position it shouldn't be a big problem for Bayern because they have several players who can be replace his position on the team but looking for Neuer replacement is a bit hard for Bayern because so far Neuer always be playing for almost each matches in all competitions so lets see how Nagelsmann will overcomes this situation
