I don't think that would be a factor that would be counted in the knock out stages considering that the players invested by the German side are all fit and non sustain injuries during their play in the world cup. Teams like psg have been playing for the title since and have failed to achieve this, maybe due to the inexperienced team players they have but this time i think they can actually make a stand for the title seeing their team now poses players who are hungry for the champions league the same feat goes for Manchester City.

No doubt the stress of the world cup will have a little effect on the teams but most players are currently back to their club sides training seeing to the removal of their country from the competition at an early stage.

I will not support Germany represented by Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Look at what they got at the World Cup and you should know who is the best right now between the Germans and the French players.

PSG is more convincing to beat Germany in the round of 16 especially because they have attackers who are able to maintain their form so far. Messi and Mbappe are still in the semi-finals of the World Cup and both are in contention for the golden boot this time around, but I wouldn't underestimate Bayern Munich in the Champions League considering the club level competition is very different compared to the World Cup.

We have had really surprising results in this World Cup. Moreover we had another surprise in the Champions League last season. Villarreal made it to the semi finals by eliminating much bigger teams like Juventus and Bayern Munich. They could have even eliminated Liverpool as well. Grin

Hence football is full of unexpected results indeed. But when we assess this matchup realistically most of us would think the same as me I presume. Manchester City shouldn't have big difficulties in eliminating Leipzig if they are really determined to win the Champions League title this time. If they make us doubt even for once then I won't be as confident as before about their title probability. Manchester City still haven't faced one of the most serious title contenders. We will find out about their real potential in a matchup like that.
