True, Halaand is not only tasked with scoring goals but creating spaces and assists. Pep knows his opponents very well, and when Halaand doesn't get a creative opportunity due to tight marking then the rest of the squad will do the job as they are evenly matched in squad depth.

The match against Newcastle in the second week will prove the depth of Man City squad, several key players are currently injured. This is the perfect time for a back-up to show similar qualities on Pep.
Manchester city are having big problems with their squad depth as they just lost Kevin De bruyne due to a hamstring injury in the game against Burnley. However, Manchester City strength in the EPL is still quite strong where they were able to play quite well in the match against Newcastle United. Where in this match they were able to win by a narrow score.

So, if we look at Manchester City in the Champions League this season, of course they really need the figure of Kevin De Bruyne in every game they play. And we hope that Kevin De bruyne can return to the team as soon as possible to help manchester city in the important matches they play in the Champions league.
To be honest Kelvin Debruyne needs to recover quickly before the Champions League gets past the group stage because they might be winning against England teams but it's not gonna be sane playing against other big sides and try to qualify for another round in the Champions league tournament, and if you noticed they've been managing to score just 1 goal i their previous matches since their match against Burnley that led to Debruyne's injury, though their performance is good and they're still pressing more but they lack creativity from the midfield to the finisher and no player could get the ball to Haaland as much as Debruyne does, that's why it's been hard for him to register goals against Sevilla and City recently.
I think they would need a replacement for Debruyne till his recovery and i don't know if their Interest for Pacqueta has cooled down because of the huge fee demanded by Westham bit Pep has to act fast before Kelvin Debruyne's absent begins to affect them probably when they face bigger teams in the Champions League.

About Haaland in the Champions League, I can say that he has been quite impressive in this tournament also. He scored so many goals here last season. Maybe he couldn't make much impact on the semi finals and the finale but I can't overlook his overall effort just because of that.

Manchester City are playing great as a team. They don't rely on only one player such as Haaland. The semi finals and the finale were great examples for that. It is the truth that Haaland is an important piece of the puzzle. But Guardiola has a system working like a clockwork now. Even when Haaland isn't in-form the rest of the players can make up for that.
I just know every player in Manchester City has a role to play, Manchester City does not really rely on any player for victory to take place, I think this is one the secret for success in winning trophies. Haaland played major role last season for Manchester City in premier league and in Champions league though in the semi finals and finals game he could not score goal for Manchester city because he was thoroughly marked by the opponent playing against Manchester City because he was a threat to them.
It is true that in important matches such as the semifinals or the Champions League final last season, Erling Haaland seemed to disappear on the field and his role as the pillar of the team at that time was immediately replaced by other Manchester City players who had freer opportunities to score goals. I don't think it's a problem as long as the team can use every player available and actually I'm quite annoyed because Pep Guardiola very rarely changes his players in the second half. So when they should have had the opportunity to score goals through supersub players, they still relied on the players who were there from the early minutes.

I see many people who say Erling Haaland disappear in the field like you say, because they think Haaland is not suitable for the games against stronger teams and that's why people think Haaland is just a player who can have good performances against the teams with a weak defending system, while he is not because other teams usually focus on Haaland to make this player stop.

It's not a problem at all because before Haaland came to City they had won the Premier League by more points than last season and despite Liverpool being only one point behind, their title looked undeniable. Haaland is an option (very cool option) but I think he is much less important than the KDB, so I'm looking forward to a more competitive season this time around.
Kelvin is more important in the Manchester City squad than Haaland. Manchester City is used to build the strength of their squad around a midfielder rather a striker. If you check some seasons ago it was Yaya Toure who was the strength of the team and presently it is KDB who is the strength of the team. Manchester City has been scoring high amount of goals without Haaland. Haaland is just an additional striking strength.

Both players are vital for the club both Erling Haaland and Kevin De Brunye but last season we saw both of them making good contribution for Manchester City as they both fought hard for the Champions League, Premier League and also England Cup.
But City can cope now without Kevin De Brunye but not without Erling Haaland who has been a special player for them ever since he joined working with Pep Guardiola. Tougher test tommorow for Manchester City and Newcastle United.

But I think that this quality has decreased quite a bit now for Manchester City since Gundogan and De Bruyne are out of their game. That is a really panful loss for them and compensating for two players of that calibre who in conjunction also organized the whole game and the midfield is impossible.

I don't know how Guardiola will go about this problem and whether they can fix it to a degree that they are as strong as last season. I believe that this season is going to be quite a bit tougher for them than last season.
Gundogan has moved to Barcelona, while Bernardo and De Bruyne have been injured. Manchester City's performance hasn't changed much without these three, but naturally it has an impact on the quality of their game. Manchester City is still a team capable of dominating their opponents in a match, so it's not a big case that needs to be resolved as soon as possible.

Did you watch the Manchester City vs Newcastle match just now? If so, you know if they have lost their best form or if they played badly without Silva, Gundogan and De Bruyne. I don't see anything negative, that's because the substitute also had a good performance in that game.

Haaland is far more than an additional striking strength. When Haaland plays the other team has to dedicate defensive capabilities to stop him, which impacts the team as a whole. Having a really strong striker within your line-up is more impactful than just having this striker. An opponent is forced to think about it and come up with a match plan that includes this striker of course.

But the discussion whether De Bruyne is more important or Haaland, I think that also depends. There will be days when Haaland scores that one goal needed for the win and there have been days when De Bruyne scored it, like against Real Madrid in the Champions League. But one thing is for sure and that is De Bruyne's injury is among the worst issues that Manchester City could now have.

I'm not sure if this works with City this way, although for many other teams it would be 100% true. It seems to me that City are more dangerous with ball control + pressing than those who play in their attack. I think that the very idea of personal guardianship of individual players has long been outdated and no one uses it - everyone plays zone control. It doesn't matter if Haaland is in the line-up in separate City games or not, the opponent will play his own game formation.

Erling Haaland is unarguably the most prolific striker in Europe at the moment and that numbers strongly backs up that claim. The number of goalscoring records he's broken and created after his first season at Manchester City last season is a true testament that he's gonna be one of the biggest players of his generation.
However I think he's a good finisher that's always at the right place whenever his team is on the attack. His foot works on the ball whenever he's in possession of the ball isn't as good as his finishing and that's the area he has to work. He mustn't rely on good passes to score goals. What makes a striker to be termed "complete" is if he can fall deep when his team isn't breaking the defense, collect pass, dribble past one or two players before scoring or creating a good chance for his team to score. If Haaland can learn and efficiently know how to dribble with the ball, he'll have better goalscoring records than Ronaldo and Messi in the future if you ask me
I guess that there is something that could be considered probable with Mbappe as well, that dude is a prolific striker but not a lot of people consider him pure striker since he was evolved from a left winger as well.

I would say that it's going to be something that would matter, because if we are talking about a pure striker then Haaland could be the best one. He had a great year at City last year obviously and he is a great scorer without a doubt but at the same time if you took Haaland out of City and put him at PSG and instead you took Mbappe out of PSG and put him at City then I bet that Mbappe has at least as much goals as Haaland did, he would be a good fit for that team because he would be running around passing.

If it comes to physicality and finishing, I will say that Erling Haaland is the current best in my opinion. But if it comes to pace and overall great attributes, I will say that Mbappé is the one. I personally think that if it was not for PSG absolutely ruining Mbappé, he could actually have been a better player with more achievements to Show.

But on the other hand Haaland has been with a team That is a great one. His team is almost the perfect team that any player could ever ask for. So he already had a Headstart. It will actually be interesting to see both of them playing for a team that is actually equal in terms of strength. Probably then we will be able to judge their actual quality.

True, midfield creativity in building attacks is very decisive in every game. Kevin De Bruyne is a very important figure for now in Pep Guardiola's squad. Halaand would not have been the top scorer if De Bruyne had not supported him, I think this cannot be denied.

Pep Guardiola himself admits that the injury suffered by his playmaker has had a huge impact on the Man City squad, the skills he has cannot be replaced by other players, such as Kovakic or Phil Foden.

Criticism, praise is a very common thing in football, all players must have felt it whether it comes from management, supporters or from other parties.
Decreasing and increasing the performance of a player is also a very natural thing, we don't always see the best game from players in every match, not just Haaland.
The role of the striker in my opinion has been misunderstood over the years, yes many people think the striker must always score goals. In fact, there are other roles that must be played, for example opening up space for teammates or other things. It doesn't have to be scoring goals, the role of helping colleagues to score goals is also a role that a striker must play.

Referring to what you said, regarding other duties as a striker, I will direct it to one of the strikers that Arsenal have. Gabriel Jesus is one of the strikers that Arsenal have, but he is not as sharp as other strikers, for example like Haaland which we are discussing. G.Jesus, is one of the important players for Arteta's squad even though he doesn't always score goals in every game. but in fact, Arteta has always played him as a main starter. because, G.Jesus has other advantages, he is able to play adaptively, find gaps in empty space, make quick transitions, and he always rotates with his teammates. not infrequently, G.Jesus opens up space for his teammates to create opportunities. that is why, Arteta has more trust and always makes him a major player.

Speaking of Haaland, this player is a goal monster. proven, he became the top scorer in both the domestic league and in the Champions league last season. even though in 2 crucial matches, Haaland did not contribute in terms of scoring goals, but he had opportunities that almost found the opposing team's goal, except for the match against Sevilla. Haaland's performance did not look so impressive, it is very natural because City did not play with their main full star. plus, it looks like Haaland is marked very tightly. overall, i agree with what you said. that criticism and praise are commonplace, as well as the ups and downs of the players' performance. next, when City play with their main squad. no matter which team he plays against, Haaland will always be heavily marked.

Galatasaray should consider themselves lucky as they are one of the seeded teams in the Champions League qualifiers. Otherwise they could have had to compete against a much bigger team. In addition I don't think that they are completely ready for this season yet.

The weaknesses in defending style of the team could have led them to be eliminated in the last round of the qualifiers. Their competitor now is Molde. Molde were a much better team than now once. But now the quality difference between the players is quite big.

I will be expecting Galatasaray to eliminate Molde without big problems.

Kevin de Bruyne has a great understanding with Haaland. This attacking player plays brilliantly for the team. However, in his absence, Haaland will face some problems, which will weaken the team's attack.
Kevin de Bruyne is actually not a player who has a very good performance but his presence is enough to help Manchester City win every game he plays, now Kevin de Bruyne is injured and unable to play until an uncertain time.
After all, he's 32 years old and doesn't look as agile as he used to be, now there are rumors that Manchester City are considering signing Dani Olmo from Leipzig as a replacement for Kevin de Bruyne.
In the Champions League last season Kevin de Bruyne also managed to score 2 goals for Manchester City from the 10 matches he participated in.

Haaland has had to work hard in the Champions League this season and he has been a key player to every win Manchester City can hope for.

Yes, anyway if Bruyne and Haaland can play together then surely that would be even better. But yes, at least with Bruyne injury at this moment, at least it can also be used as another great plan when Bruyne is unable to play in important matches later. So, if later Pep gets used to being without Bruyne then of course, this will make Manchester City no longer have excessive dependence on Bruyne in the midfield.

Because it's clear, that this season the competition will certainly be more difficult, and Manchester City should be able to play without relying on one player. Because to still have a chance to go further in the Champions League is a difficult job, and they must be able to play as a team more compactly.

This could be a good revenge game but for now in the first leg PSV have a lot of pressure.
The first leg of the Play Off is at Rangers which of course this will give them an advantage because they play home and with the advantage of this militant fan will put more pressure on PSV.

On the other hand, PSV have had a good goal productivity so far in the previous qualifying phase and this will be a good capital only I still feel that they will still play a little safe to prepare the second leg well.
A difficult match to predict, both of team still have a chance whether it's Rangers or PSV. You are right that in the first leg PSV might be have a lot of pressure because they will be playing away from home, but on the other side they also have to take their revenge because the previous season they were beaten by Rangers. Considering that PSV has been defeated before, so yes, they seem to be playing it safe in this first leg.

that's a strategy that has been held by Pep for a long time. he will not arbitrarily replace their players unless it is in a state of urgency. it seems he has full confidence in the performance of the players he chooses in every game.
Haaland is not invisible, but increasingly powerful opponents recognize that Haaland is a serious threat. and they need to stop Haaland on full guard. it creates opportunities for other players that City can rely on because of the defensive gaps created by Haaland.
