I agree with you; Athletico Madrid had a wonderful performance in the UEFA Champions League in the past year's. If not for Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid could have won two UEFA Champions League titles. I was not surprised that Athletico Madrid knocked out Inter Milan from the UEFA Champions League because I know Inter Milan cannot survive Athletico Madrid at home.

Truly they were having more open chances to score but Atletico also did miss some good chances but we only saw Atletico Madrid not having a chance of winning because of the first leg result and their domestic stat though we knew Atletico Madrid were just inconsistent since they have a wonderful squad just like Inter Milan which can say ought to be stronger than Inter Milan squad.
Diego Simeone substituting Morata for Depay was among the key changes that won them the match, guess we can say his tactics in the match was better than that of Simone Inzaghi. Getting to the penalty shoot-out I guess we could all agree that even both team took it we knew Atletico would win


I don`t think was the issue but we accept that they were a bit unlucky or wasteful with chances but about having domestic league burden its far from it though are playing Napoli but that doesn`t matter they are topping the league with a huge gap with the team sitting second which is 14 points and so this shouldn`t be a burden

There is no doubt that Atletico Madrid performed well in this match. Atlético Madrid won by dominating the home match. Atletico Madrid's overall gameplay was very composed. Atletico Madrid performance in last night's match was really quite impressive where their performance was able to make it difficult for Inter Milan. yeah, what an extraordinary game! It's been a while since we've seen such an intense match in the UCL. Both teams really gave it their all. The key difference was Simeone's brilliant substitutions; they really turned the tide in their favor. It was a victory well deserved. Spanish teams always seem to shine in European campaigns, don't they? Despite Simeone's team struggling in the domestic league, knocking out the best team from Serie A is a huge achievement. This win must mean a lot to him, and words can't fully express it.

Last season's finalists were eliminated last night after not being able to pass the penalty shootout. We know everyone is talking about Inter being knocked out by hosts Atletico and 90 minutes wasn't enough for these two teams to get things done. It all started with a goal scored by Depay in the final minute which thwarted Inter's opportunity to gain an aggregate lead and had to continue from extra time to the penalty shootout.

There is no doubt about Jan Oblak's performance as Atletico's veteran goalkeeper and thanks to his skill he managed to thwart several penalty kicks from Inter players. Lautaro Martinez was really confused and he took a penalty kick into the crowd and at that moment Atletico ensured progress to the quarter-finals. It's really sad that a team as consistent as Inter had to fall in front of Atletico and I think those who initially favored them being able to return to a higher stage this season have to close down those hopes.

It was such a tragic event yesterday to witness how Atletico Madrid equalised because as Inter Milan scored the goal at 33 minutes, I just felt like it would be very hard for Atletico Madrid to come back to the game. For me this week came with a lot of drama, because arsenal had the same situation with Porto.

To be honest, when Arsenal entered the penalty shootout, I was convinced that Arsenal would be eliminated. Obviously, when entering the penalty shootout, Porto had more psychological advantages than Arsenal and they were also more experienced. However, it was surprising that all four Arsenal players successfully took the penalty shootout. After watching this match, I think Arsenal is still struggling in the UCL, although currently their form and squad are much clearer than Porto. Especially in this return match, they were playing at home, but the Arsenal striker's ungainliness in front of goal made them struggle quite a bit. I think Real Madrid is still the favorite here apart from the other teams from La Liga.

They should not be underestimated but Inter Milan actually played good in both two matches. They lost after the penalties because their players wasted many opportunities in both matches. Even in the match in Madrid, after Atletico Madrid equalized the result to 1 - 1, Inter Milan got two good opportunities but Marcus Thuram and Nicolo Barella could not score a second goal for them. If Inter Milan could score one goal from these two opportunities, when the match has only 10 minutes left, Atletico Madrid would give up as they will need to score two goals to equalize the aggregated result.

After all wasted chances, Inter Milan lost through penalties and they have to regret about it as they actually can do it better.

Atletico Madrid again shown their strong mentality and good discipline in tactics that are very helpful for them at Champions League level.

The equalizing goal by Griezmann was a little bit lucky, the Inter Milan defender should have cleared the ball far away, but he missed and Griezmann was at the right place in the right time. It seems to me that the Inter players weren't prepared for the penalties, while the Atletico players had trained penalties before the match. The second game between Borussia and PSV wasn't interesting at all. The Dutch team had a chance to equalize, but De Jong missed it. Borussia Dortmund deserved to qualify for the next round.

Inter Milan performed dramatically differently in this game than in the previous leg, which is difficult to understand and i was not expecting this to happen. I never imagined that a club as average as Atletico Madrid could beat Inter Milan. It's insane to see this result occur for intermilan since this club became the favorite club to win the game. In my opinion, Inter Milan completely underperformed in this match.
I'm not sure what made Intermilan's performance so different from when it played in Series A. The game was extremely competitive for both clubs. Neither of them dominated the game, but Intermilan made some mistakes that cost the club a lot of chances to score, forcing it to leave UCL before reaching the quarter-finals this season which is ivery bad to happen to the club.
It was a difficult match for both clubs, and neither was able to dominate the game. Atletico Madrid surprised us by allowing us to advance to the quarterfinal. Amazing performance from atletico madrid. This club played beyong my expectation to the club.
 

Seriously, no one expected it again but in the long run, they come back with Depay's equalizer just 3 minutes before the regulementary time. The fans support and shout-outs played some roles despite they were not so sure they could win it. Oblak deserves some appreciation for his outstanding performance too. I wasn't too surprised because Athletico has always been a fighter. They fight and are very dangerous and deadly on counter. I would like to see Athletico winning the UCL this season if not for anything, for the sake of their couch. Simeone has so much love for the game and this team. His action is one of the reason why I sometimes watch Athletico Madrid matches. He doesn't change his pattern for any one, he believes in defense for the title. He's very passionate and enthusiastic couch. I think champions league really owes this man a title.

Dortmund always have a good record in the Champions League, so I believe they will get the win over PSV at home because their opponent are not good enough when it comes to Champions League. PSV attempts a lot to score goals, but they are not good enough to win. The advantage of playing at home is that they draw the first leg at PSV's home field, Dortmund wins the second leg with two goals, and PSV was unable to score any goals. Sancho has scored two goals to give them the victory in their last two games. He scored the first goal in just three minutes of play. Dortmund is playing well, but not well enough to win any trophy this season.


Griezmann was able to play against Inter Milan yesterday, however i expect a lot of changes in Atletico Madrid's performance. After all, they succeeded in eliminating Inter Milan in the Champions League. Considering how strong Inter Milan has been playing this season, nobody anticipated that they would be eliminated in the round of 16.
