The teams to compete in the quarter finals round have finally been decided!

The only one that I didn't expect to happen was Atletico Madrid's reaching this round. The way they fought back last night was incredible! Simeone is really one of the special managers. The player changes he made directly changed the direction of the match was going.

Oblak was one of the heros of the night thanks to his 2 crucial saves during penalty shoot-outs.

It was really disappointing to see Inter being eliminated while having a wonderful season. Sad

But the job gets really difficult while playing an away match against Atletico Madrid in some way. It is like that especially in the Champions League.

I didn't expect Atletico to make it through to the next round after beating Inter Milan 2-1. But to be honest I didn't think Inter lost last night. A 2-1 win makes the aggregate 2-2 and that means a draw. Atletico was lucky because they managed to win the penalty shootout. I'm not underestimating Atletico and I know being a penalty taker isn't easy either. But overall both teams deserve to be appreciated. Both teams played very well and I really favor Inter Milan to qualify for the next round. Congratulations to Atletico for breaking everyone's expectations. Last night I saw how much I was wrong about Atletico Madrid. I saw Inter as a way higher favourite to reach the quarter finals. Especially after seeing Inter scoring first I was more confident. I think if it weren't for Griezmann's very early answer this comeback might not have got real. We saw how important Griezmann is for this team once again. I saw his condition as doubtful until the game time got very close.

However I think the biggest share in this huge comeback and win belongs to Simeone. Because his moves in the second half made a big impact on the game.

Atletico Madrid impressed many fans yesterday. The match was very fierce regardless of the final result but this match was worthy enough to be a big match where the match tension did not even drop in the 90 minutes of the match and I like matches like this.
From the beginning it was very difficult to predict who would be able to win in the match between Inter and Atletico because the opportunity was still open to both and indeed the match in 90 minutes of normal time +30 minutes of extra time was proof that both wanted a good result even though the mentality on penalties was very difficult for some players to dupe.

Even Barcelona and Atletico Madrid failed in the group stage last season. But this season, both of them managed to go further. I congratulate all the teams who have managed to progress further in the Champions League this season.

My favorite for this season will probably remain Man City. because so far only Man City looks the strongest of all the teams that have qualified for the quarter-finals. Even now, I haven't seen Man City having any difficulties since the group stage, even in the round of 16 yesterday.

I was quite surprised that Inter went out on penalties and yes, Lautaro Martinez was a concern because his shot didn't go in the right direction and that was also what let Atletico Madrid through. Honestly, it was very stressful to see Inter being careless in taking the penalty.
