City cannot be underestimated. Because City Renown is a team. Manchester City has a very strong squad. At the same time, Manchester City also has an experienced coach like Guardiola. However, the problem is that despite being a completely strong team. Manchester City's performance in the Champions League is very weak. And there is no way to deny it.

However, it is very difficult for City to be in the top 24 of the Champions League table. Manchester City will play against Club Brugge and PSG in the next two matches. And these two teams are also trying to qualify for the playoffs. So it is going to be difficult for City players to get full points in both matches. Many of us thought that City would win easily against CLub Brugge. I don't think so. I have seen Club Brugge's performance. Brugge's players are capable of playing well enough.

Manchester City just have experienced a challenging time period recently that's all. But if people noticed they already started to get better results. They have a winning streak of 2 games in the Premier League. I believe they will save themselves in the Champions League too. I only doubt seeing them in top 8 as there are only 2 games left. They need luck to be beside them at the same time. But with playoffs or not, I expect them to reach a respectable stage here.  Smiley

If they face Real Madrid in an early matchup then they might say goodbye though.  Tongue  Ancelotti is really great at countering Guardiola's system. Like the previous season example...

If I compare Manchester City with PSG and Club Brugge, then of course Manchester City is still a better team. Although PSG is still in a good trend in Ligue 1 but still, the fact remains that PSG is a team that fails more often in the Champion League compared to other top. Therefore, although Manchester City, PSG and Club Brugge will all try to finish in the top 24, I personally believe that Pep Guardiola will still succeed in making Manchester City go further. Of course, there will be nothing easy to get good results, but basically Pep Guardiola is a very experienced coach who can also increase the winning mentality to his squad.

There are some rumors about players who will replace Rodri, whether it's just a temporary loan or a permanent purchase, we'll see who Man City will bring in this January transfer market because this club really needs a midfielder who is productive in providing passes. Man City needs improvement in order to return to their best performance not only in the EPL but also in the UCL because usually Man City is a strong candidate in the UCL so it would be a shame if Pep Guardiola is unable to bring Man City to qualify for the next round.
The problem is finding players who can be productive enough in terms of providing passes from the midfielder position in the transfer market is always not easy and even if there are players like that, they will not be the same as the quality that Rodri already has. So Manchester City also have to polish other players to be better so that some other players can also contribute in making classy passes to their front line players. Because if Manchester City cannot change this in the rest of this season, of course Manchester City will not be able to go far in the Champions League and also in the EPL this season.
Losing Rodri has really undermined the greatness that manchester city has had so far, their desire to continue to dominate the English league and UCL finally had to fail after the bad luck that befell them against Arsenal in the early season match, now the transfer market has opened and manchester city has tried to recruit several players who are considered capable of having a positive impact on their current performance, in my opinion, Guardiola previous mistake was the minimal rotation of players he did, so that when they get problems such as losing Rodri at this time there is no appropriate replacement to replace him, if we talk about the chances of winning in the EPL and UCL, actually their opportunities are wider open in the UCL this season than the EPL.

From your explanation it is very easy to conclude that Rodri has been the player that has been carrying Manchester City in his shoulders because the last time I checked Rodri didn't play all the matches in the times where Manchester City won or their trophies but they were incredible in their performance. Now the performance of Manchester City has greatly declined and the team is struggling to get back to good form, regardless of the situation that has affected Manchester City right now I think they need to work on their performance while they awaits the return of Rodri this is because even though Rodri comes out of injury now he may not perform well like before because most of the players of Manchester City are in poor form especially Haaland their goal getter.

Manchester City does not have the chances of winning any major trophies this season looking at their position in the domestic league, Liverpool is already favorite in the league and the champions League competition is another place where there are better teams eyeing the champions league trophy, Liverpool team is one of them cause they have the best performance so far.

No one is underestimating City, and they need to fight for their survival in UCL for us to confirm that they are worth to qualify for the round of 16. Same applies to EPL, despite being the defending champions does not mean that if they don't improve their performance, they will be able to finish on top four. City have only won two weak teams and no one knows if they have improved or not.

There is still plenty of time for Pep to fix Manchester City even though it will be difficult to compete in the Champion League, but they also cannot be underestimated in the play-off round later.

I agree with you that it is difficult to find players who are as expected, especially when the expectations are set on a player, it is something that will be more difficult. In addition, the players who are appointed will eventually also have their own burden because they have to play according to the expectations placed on them. If the player cannot control that burden, then it will also affect their performance in the end. I mean he will not be able to play freely because he is disturbed by the burden that many people have placed on him.

Of course, Pep Guardiola had to change his plans from defending the Premier League title to winning a position in the Champions League zone. It is still reasonable to expect them to qualify for next season's Champions League if their performance improves, but to retain the title, it is already very difficult. Liverpool already have such a large points gap and it is very difficult to catch up with Manchester City's current condition.

Meanwhile in the Champions League, I think Pep Guardiola still has a chance to get his team through to the next round. PSG are not favorites in the next match, even if they play at home. Pep Guardiola must be able to perform optimally in that match and that is the best opportunity that he must take advantage of.
In Champion League matches, PSG won 1 of 3 home matches in this season and get difficulty for winning the match after being draw by PSV Eidhoven and defeating by Atletico Madrid.
Only Girona as the teams defeated by PSG at their home match and looks not have good result for PSG when playing home in Champion League match, but upcoming home match its drastically difference because the most important and crucial match if want get qualify to knock out round.

PSG have opportunity taking Manchester City at playoff round standings position if can win upcoming match but if losses three points as last home match in this season make difficult for PSG will get qualify to knock out round although can defeated Stuttgart at last match. The same with Manchester City, facing PSG its crucial match and Pep Guardiola must improve his team performance if won't loss opportunity get qualifying to knock out round by finish as playoff round standings teams.

Manchester City is now in 22nd place in the Champions League points table. The team in the top 8 will qualify directly for the next round. And the team in the top 24 will play the playoffs. It is not possible for Manchester City to be in the top 8 of the table. And it is not possible to qualify directly for the next round. So Manchester City's target now is to qualify for the playoffs from the top 24 of the table.

Being in the top 24 of the points table is also a big challenge for Manchester City. For this, Manchester City must earn points against PSG. If they cannot earn points against PSG and Brugge, there is no possibility of Manchester City being in the top 24 of the table.

Guardiola will definitely give his full effort to win the next two matches of the Champions League. I am looking forward to seeing the fight between Luis Enrique and Guardiola.

If this game had been held last month I can categorically say that Manchester city will have been out because they were literally losing to every opponent they come up against, but as things stands now I can say that they will most likely scoff out a win in either of this game to get to play offs, the game against PSG will be a make or break for them because both clubs need that win to go to the next round but should Manchester city lose then the Club Brugge game will be very tense one.

Club Brugge seems to be the underrated here but they have been upsetting big clubs this season and it is definitely going to be a tough encounter with the premier league champions this should be Pep biggest game of the season just to save his face from early elimination which has never happened to him before in his career

He is seriously facing two devastating outcomes this season if he failed to make it to the next round in the Champions League. He could be missing out on the qualification in the Premier League as it stands now. It is not very likely, but if they have another round of a losing streak, nobody knows whether they'll be lucky enough to qualify regardless.

It is in a razor's edge so far and since they haven't managed to turn the tables all the time when they had two losses, three losses, four losses and everyone thought this must be the last game lost, then I think the worst could become the most probable result.

As much I couldn't imagine that they will get to this point, as much I can't imagine that they'll really fail in the first round now. The one ace up their sleeves is that they play at home against Brugge. Otherwise I'd agree with you that Brugge would have been tough, but I don't think Brugge can do what Feyenoord did to them. I know that nothing is guaranteed as Manchester City has changed a lot this season, but no I can't think of a loss against Brugge when they play at home.

Yeah. Sure, Manchester City will do everything to remain in a position where they can be able to play in the Champions competition next season, although their performance in recent matches is getting better, and that is good for Manchester City because they have been facing tough times throughout the season, so if they get better, at this point it will be a good one for them. However, Manchester City will get better for sure, so let’s keep watching them.
Manchester City can secure their position for the Champions League next season because the Premier League journey is still quite long, especially since some players in the transfer this time will likely get fresh players.
What needs to be considered now is that they must be able to qualify for the playoffs and there they must also be able to qualify even though the opponents they face will be quite tough.
Manchester City still has a big chance to secure a ticket to the Champions League next season through the Premier League, they are only two points behind Chelsea who are in fourth place. The journey to the last 16 of the Champions League is Pep Guardiola main concern at the moment, where Manchester City must work hard to maintain their position in the Play Off zone. The last two wins over Leicester City and West Ham marked a turning point in their performance, I think they are on their way back to their best performance.
Manchester City will definitely qualify for champions league next season because Chelsea does not have the level of consistency that can be found in Manchester City when they have found their winning style and especially when they are confronted with a situation of winning a title or major spot. For a while Manchester City have not lost the champions league spot and I don't think they will do that this year.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly looking to strengthen his team defense by recruiting a center back in the near future, the addition is really needed by Manchester City, as an effort to rise and perform consistently in the future. Although Manchester City dominance in the Premier League is threatened to be broken by Liverpool, I think they still have the potential to be a trophy challenger in the Champions League if they manage to reach the round of 16.
This is very important and highly recommended because the rate at which they concede goals is not encouraging for a big team like them. This January should be an opportunity for them to make some additions to the team especially in the defense line. I don't know if Pep already have some other people in mind but I learnt they already agree deal to sign Khusanov from Lens.

Let's have a look at the top clubs which have surprised us after 6 games:

Real Madrid... 3 wins, 3 losses until now. They lost meaningless number of games against weaker clubs in some of them also. But after seeing their effort against Atalanta I believe they won't be out of playoffs area surely.  Smiley  Maybe they would even finish in top 8.

Manchester City... They have been a little worse than Real Madrid. Only 2 wins and couldn't get a win in their last 3 games either. They have had a tough time for so many weeks but lately they look better after winning 2 PL games in a row. I don't expect them to be out also.

And PSG... They are the one I'm wondering the most. Being out of top 24 with 7 points. This is really dangerous while the phase is close to the end. One of the remaining 2 games is even against Manchester City. I'm definitely watching that game.  Grin
Even though Madrid performance in the UCL has not been encouraging, I am sure they will be able to progress to the next phase of the competitions with their next  games against Brest and Salzburg. I think Real Madrid will be able to easily win this two teams. As for Manchester City, I think they still stand a better chance in qualifying despite the fact that their chances will be determined by the outcome of their encounter against PSG. The match will be tightly contested but given to Manchester City tactical ability to perform under high pressure matches to achieve success, they may have a slight advantage over PSG.

As for real Madrid I'm very sure they will qualify for the next stage of the competition because they are very much inform, what was causing them problem before was because mbappe was finding it difficult to adapt to the club but now he has done that and they are good to go, they are even the best club I think may lift this season champions League title, however Barcelona and Liverpool will really give them a tough time and if they are not careful one of this two clubs will lift it because they are so inform and very determine to lift the champions League title this season.
As for Manchester City I don't see them having the chance to win this seasons champions League title because they are not inform, pep guardiola should focus on bringing back his team to there former state, and I don't think Manchester city will be able to win there match with PSG because PSG are very much inform than them and are determine in going far in this seasons champions League, I know Manchester City are now improving, they won there last two premier league games however they still need to improve more if they want to win PSG.

By now Pep should have realized that their are no hopes of winning the league this season anymore, I don’t see any possibility of finishing top of the league for Manchester City this season.
Liverpool have not played bad or struggled since and Manchester City is 12 points away from Liverpool and I don’t think there is any hope for them again, Liverpool will surely get away with this cup this time around. The game against PSG will be the biggest test for Guadiola to prove they are back in form and can still fight till the end of the season.

The assignment for Gaurdiolla should be finishing well. If his team can find a good spot in the premier league table so they can compete in the champions league next season. As for this season it is late to complete for the premier league title but they still have hope for the champions league and that is if they can return to their consistency.
If Manchester City should win the league then it will be a shame on every premier league team because after going through such back to loses I don’t think they even deserve to make top 4 this season but it seems they have hope of fighting for the top 4 spot because they are just few points (2) behind Chelsea that has been struggling recently. He is definitely out of the title race now but there is still hope for a champions league spot at least, that should be his new goal for the season.

By now Pep should have realized that their are no hopes of winning the league this season anymore, I don’t see any possibility of finishing top of the league for Manchester City this season. Against PSG it will be a tough test to evaluate the current state of the team if they have really improved and returned to form or just enjoyed two games victories against weak sides in the league. At this point the teams needs to be winning games and closing the gap away from top four and in the Champions League.
The assignment for Gaurdiolla should be finishing well. If his team can find a good spot in the premier league table so they can compete in the champions league next season. Their match against PSG is where it all begins that is for the champions league trophy. It should be a difficult game for them as usual but if it were to be when City were creative with their game play they will always navigate the game and come out of it victorious and this is exactly what is expected of them at the moment.

It's been a poor campaign for Manchester City in the English Premier League but I don't think they'll fail to finish the season in the top four at the end of the current season. Pep Guardiola have made comments that suggests that Manchester City will be making few significant signings to further strengthen the squad this January

My current fear for Manchester City isn't about their qualification to play in the Champions League next season but if they'll be able to reach the knockout stages of the competition this season. They're currently sitting in the 22nd position of the UCL table after garnering just 8 points in six games and would travel to Paris Saint Germaine in their next game in the competition. If Manchester City fails to win that game, they might not reach the knockout stage competition.
Man City still have a great chance to finish in the top four of the EPL, but I'm not sure they can retain the title. Their performance, which had declined in several previous matches, made it difficult for them to compete in the UCL, now they are fighting to secure a place in the play-off position to advance to the knock-out round. It is very difficult to compete with other strong teams in the Knock-out round if they don't improve their performance soon, I prefer Liverpool as the favorite this season than Man City.

Manchester City is experiencing greater difficulties at the moment than the previous season, the decline in their current position and opportunities in the various competitions they participate in is none other than the injury factor of their main players including Rodri, their chances of winning the English league are of course very difficult even I think to compete for the top 4 will also be very difficult to see the competition that exists today,  But to be honest, I see that they still have the potential to rise, especially since it is reported that they are now starting to aggressively look for new players in the transfer market, so that is can be the first step to rise in second half this season, including in the Champions League, although they are struggling to qualify through the playoffs, but I believe that if they can reach the knockout phase, their potential to become Champions League champions is still wide open.

Missing the Champions League would come as a huge surprise and I think it would be a big deal and not easy to deal with at all. It would be the first season ever that Guardiola does not play in the Champions League I think. But luckily for them, most other teams in the Premier League are not stable either.

but this Champions League season is still going and to believe that Manchester City definitely won't make it is wrong. They looked like donkeys in some games in the Premier League, but I still think they could beat any top team.

Guardiola is definitely preparing his match strategy to win the next two matches of the Champions League. Guardiola will not want to be eliminated in the first round of the Champions League.

For a long time, we have seen Manchester City's weak and irregular performance in the Premier League. However, in the last two matches, we have seen a very stable performance from Manchester City. Manchester City won against Leicester City and West Ham. City won against West Ham by a big margin of 4-1. Now Manchester City is in a somewhat stable position.

In the next two matches of the Champions League, City will play against PSG and Club Brugge. I cannot call these two teams weak. Both teams aim to qualify for the playoffs. Even Club Brugge is now in 19th place in the table. So it is very difficult for City to get full points in both matches.

Last season, De Bruyne's absence made Man City's performance decline and Erling Haaland also couldn't do much because he was a striker who had to be supported by other players to be able to score goals and after KDB returned, Erling Haaland showed his sharpness again and his club's performance slowly started to improve and this season almost the same thing happened to Man City who lost Rodri and made Man City's performance decline a little drastically from before and KDB also couldn't help Erling Halaand to score goals, I think Pep Guardiola needs to bring in players who can help Erling Haaland KDB is old and Rodri is still out for quite a long time so Man City needs a midfielder to fill Rodri's void.
That is true because in fact it is quite clear that when Rodri is not there, Manchester City's attack line has had a bit of difficulty and is very irregular so it is quite appropriate for Pep Guardiola to bring in players who can play in Rodri's position even though each player is always different from the previous player so the team's performance will not be the same as before. Because at this time Manchester City really needs a win in any competition, including the Champions League competition, because their position in the current Champions League standings is still not safe.
