I was actually very convinced that Real Madrid were the top favourites and would definitely win the Champions League, but after the last game between Real and Atalanta I'm not so sure anymore. They have very strong individual players but as a team they don't yet harmonise as a CL winner should. Maybe Ancelotti will manage to get the team to play better together. Otherwise it doesn't look so good if the team plays like it did against Atalanta.

I don't understand what you didn't like - a dry 2-0 victory in a game for which there was no special preparation (since no one will sacrifice the season for the Super Cup). The fact that players show themselves individually is, on the contrary, an indicator of how well the coach works - for example, compare Bellingham's performance in the national team and in Real Madrid. They are two different people  Grin

I will not be surprised if anyone continues to say that Real Madrid has better and more perfect players without worrying about the lack of players.
Although previously strengthened by Toni Kross and now he has retired, Mbappe has become a very reliable player assisted by other professional players such as Vinicius JR and Rodrygo who are ready to contribute together to be able to bring home the UCL title again this season.
I can't imagine what it would be like if Kross had not retired, Real Madrid would definitely be stronger.
As long as Ancelotti can still maintain the club's consistent performance, Madrid never feels difficult if no one is injured.
Ancelotti's job is also to maintain the current players' physical condition to avoid injury to the main players.

If you think Real Madrid's squad lacked harmony in the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta, but in reality Real Madrid won anyway, right? So, you can't imagine, when Real Madrid are not harmonious, but they can still win with clean sheets and then, what if Real Madrid have good harmony, then of course the result will be better. I don't think that's a problem because, if you realize that Real Madrid have always had great individual players in their squad,  but in reality Real Madrid have always managed to suppress their egos and still produce good results for Real Madrid.

At least I'm surprised, because the fact that there are still people who doubt Real Madrid and the reason is just about harmony, because the fact has long been that Real Madrid has always had many star players in the squad but they are fine. But indeed, getting trophies isn't going to be easy at all  but when it comes to Real Madrid, they always have a chance of getting trophies.

It's clear that Real Madrid should be the most likely to defend their trophy. But, as you said, it's weird they got second, not first. Prob Pep's factor is the reason why we're still seeing City at the first place. Also, the funny thing is that Arsenal is more favored. They have smaller odds than Munich, which beat them last season. But the only acceptable reason is probably due to the new coach of Bayern Munich. Still, this looks so strange.
All of that can still change when the season starts because for me it is also not right to put Real Madrid in second place after what Real Madrid achieved last season and also with the current Real Madrid squad. If it is because Pep is still coaching Manchester City, I think it is also not wrong if we consider Ancelotti as a good coach for Real Madrid so that every Real Madrid player is able to play the way he gives. We can see an example when Real Madrid beat Atalanta where in the first half Real Madrid did not play well enough, but in the second half everything changed and Madrid became a team that was able to win.
When a new season starts and when different teams play a few matches in the beginning we get an idea about different teams and accordingly predict a team that this team can reach this level this season but everything can be said about Real Madrid. It's not just that Real Madrid have strengthened their squad this season, they always focus on strengthening their squad in all aspects. And the most important thing is that Real Madrid has consistency and each player has a good understanding with each player which is why they are successful in almost every match and they will be successful in the next season.
Real Madrid is the world's best team, hands down. Their method is genius: they develop a powerful squad season after season and dominate La Liga and the Champions League. Its amazing to watch. Some may mention Manchester City or Arsenal, which are good teams. There are moments in their domestic leagues. The Champions League, the enormous platform, is too much for them. They break

Real Madrid differs there. They're distinguished by their mental toughness and killing instinct. They're usually favourites since they can adapt and surpass any challenge. Any club can benefit from a good group stage draw, but Real Madrid goes further. They're establishing a winning mindset and a team. To catch up, other clubs must learn that

I don't know if there would ever be a time where I would be so confident and so assured of a team winning almost every game just as the way you are citing it to be. Real Madrid are very good and will mostly likely win their games but not all the games and that's something am certain of but the problem now is you can't actually tell that time that the fuck up will come which is why luck is still tied to this.
It’s not possible for a team to win all their matches, no matter how strong the team is, they are going to lose or draw some matches. We know Real Madrid has a strong squad currently, and it’s going to be difficult for any club to defeat them currently, but just the way you said it, any fuckup can happen, an error can happen, which might make them lose the chances of winning the champions league next season. But if I am to predict who will be the  winner of the champions league for next season, then it should be between Manchester City and Real Madrid, because both of them has equal chances of winning it.

If anyone asks which team has the most perfect squad currently in the Champions League, of course Real Madrid is the only answer that is most appropriate in my opinion, but even so, of course we can't say they will be unbeatable this season both in La Liga and also the champions league, so far madrid has everything it takes for them to win the match but there will be unexpected factors which might later cause them to experience defeat, it cannot be denied that maybe luck and bad luck will be one of the factors that causes this defeat to occur, however In this case, the player  and the coach strategy mistakes will probably be the biggest reason for the defeat they might get.
Madrid will go through the season with high motivation after they won the UEFA Super Trophy, and actually I hope there will be another team that this season can provide tough resistance for against Madrid in the La Liga and Champions League.

It is pretty much the same for me - except Dinamo Zagreb.  Wink  I expect a surprise to happen. Qarabag look very determined. Dinamo Zagreb are of course a team with much bigger CL experience. But there is never a guaranteed result in football or any sports.

I look forward to my team's game 4 days later. We are playing away against Young Boys. I hope we will win in the 1st leg already. But considering the way Turkish teams start their CL journey, maybe we might see a draw first. But I expect no other result than eliminating them. By the way our big win at Old Trafford last season is still in my mind.  Roll Eyes

I agree with Qarabag. They have a realistic chance to tell the truth. Actually I doubt Lille as well although I said they would advance. I didn't like them against Fenerbahçe at all. Especially in the second leg they performed really poorly. But they were lucky that Fenerbahçe wasted those valuable chances. Slavia Prague are also a quite much experienced team in the Champions League. Maybe an upset could be seen.

A significant part of the teams we are talking about in playoff stage is likely to say an early goodbye in league phase. But they will still earn quite much money just for even participating in the phase which would be great for their finances.  Smiley

These are the 14 clubs that are in the final round to compete for the 7 remaining places in the Champions League. They will play 2 legs of the match which they must maximize very well if they want to be one of the competitors in the Champions League this season. They will also feel the transition from the old format to the new format applied in the Champions League. This must be tiring for them, because they have to continue to compete for the 7 remaining tickets.

It is also quite difficult to determine which clubs will succeed in advancing, because each club that will face each other can also be said to be balanced. Also, several matches bring together clubs that are used to being in the Champions League. In your opinion, which clubs will succeed in winning this match?
Maybe the headline of this qualifier is Zagreb vs Qarabag but seeing Young Boys vs Galatassaray is not something to be taken lightly. I think there are a lot of good teams here but the ones that catch my attention the most are those two games. I would have preferred to see Qarabag qualify but Zagreb will not let that happen. Moreover, as the host, Zagreb must secure a win in the first leg before playing the second leg at Qarabag's home.

Well, for Galatassaray it seems they will have no problem in the first leg and maybe if they find it difficult to win then they can aim for a draw first before going all out at home. I think Young Boys are still a strong opponent and regardless of the result I am looking forward to betting on this match and will fully support Galatassaray to steal the aggregate lead.

The description of the form of play is not only seen in the Champions League because there may be other factors such as consistency of play in the domestic league. Although sometimes that is not a guarantee for them to play well in the Champions League or vice versa for many teams. For example, Dortmund played not very consistently in the Bundesliga, but they managed to advance to the final round where they were ultimately defeated by Real Madrid. Likewise, Arsenal and Man City played quite consistently in the Premier League, but they failed in the Champions League.

There are many factors that make a team play more consistently, especially in the Champions League because the competition in that league is quite tight. Experience, mentality and players and coaches really determine how they are able to reach the end of the final as champions
I personally use the domestic league as the basis for considering whether a team can play well in the Champions League or not, at least their performance in the domestic league gives a little picture of how their game is, whether it is solid enough or not. Although there are many other factors that will greatly influence when they play in the Champions League, such as mentality. Because the pressure they will get in the Champions League will be much stronger than the domestic league they play in. We also often see a team struggling in the Champions League, even though they play well in the domestic league. There are also teams that play well in the Champions League even though they don't play that well in the domestic league. Sometimes the luck factor also has a big influence, not only in the game but also in the draw when they meet a strong team or not. Usually teams also hope that they will meet a team that is not strong enough to meet them in the first phase which we previously called the group stage.

I agree with you, that there is a luck in the competition but if any team fail to display quality performance from the beginning of the competition to position in a good position, I think it will be difficult for such team to experience the luck from the competition, because it go along with the team experience. For example, Real Midred that won last champion league title, I can still remember that many people thought that Manchester city or other teams will be the one to win the title but based on Real Midred preparation for the competition and their performance from the competition made them to embrace the luck from the tournament last season. That is what is still going to happen in this season, because the smaller teams are not ready to purchase some new players to boost their performance which it will be difficult for them to experience the luck in this season again.

Luck in football doesn't work the way many people take it to be. Luck always work with your efforts and readiness in most football competitions. As a club, you need to build your squad depth to be strong enough to compete with other top and elite clubs. You must not have a club full of star players but you only need a team that's competitive and believe in themselves as well as the manager.

I've taken a cue from the last year's champions league tournament where Borussia Dortmund reached the finals with Real Madrid without necessarily having a team full of star players but a team of young talented players who understood their squad philosophy and were highly committed to the success of the each other and the overall victory of the team. That's what we should look out for this tournament.

City - 3.25
Real - 3.95
Arsenal - 9.85
Liverpool - 11.10
Bayern - 12.70
Barcelona - 13.10
PSG - 16.80

It is surprising that Arsenal is higher than Bayern, Barcelona and even PSG. It is also not clear why City is considered the favorite, Real is the record holder in this tournament, although I probably agree with this, City really played better than Real. Probably in this rating I disagree only with the position of Bayern and would raise it higher.
Yes, it's also strange that Arsenal's odds are bigger than Bayern Munich's, even though if we remember last season Arsenal was defeated by Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and Bayern Munich is also one of the favorite clubs in the Champions League just like Manchester City and Real Madrid, the odds should not be much different between these three clubs, we don't know Bayern Munich's performance this season with their new coach, maybe this is what makes the odds so high.

Regarding Manchester City and Real Madrid, it's no wonder that both have odds that are not much different, but what surprised me is how the odds can be more profitable for Man City? even though it is clear that last season's Champions League winner was Real Madrid. Even though in my opinion, Real Madrid should have odds no higher than @3.00
Last season we also saw that Arsenal odds were higher than Bayern Munich but maybe we can understand that last season, because arsenal performance in the league was better than Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, but in fact these odds are inversely proportional to what we saw in their matches and in fact last season, Bayern Munich can still continue their domination over Arsenal in the Champions League, of course it's different from what we see now, when the English League has just started and the Bundesliga hasn't been played yet, something ridiculous is happening again with strange predictions emerging now.
who knows, what is in the minds of those who say that Arsenal will be better than Munich in the Champions League and who knows where they take reference to predict ridiculous things like that?
I hope that the existing predictions will not influence someone to gamble and make betting decisions based on these ridiculous predictions later Cheesy.

ThisThis looks looks funny, though I can see that you really put too much hope on Real Madrid, although they are strong and they will be able to concur with any team that comes their way, but sometimes football is all about luck, although I know that how professional you are can also contribute, but still, at some point, luck plays its own role. Don't rush and give novices advice to always bet on Real Madrid at their own risk; it will be better if they do what they think will favor them.

Regardless of luck in football, when you’re good and have experience and also know how to play the game better, you’ll always be the most favored anytime you play and you’ll always win most of your matches. Real Madrid has gathered a lot of experience that you don’t need to doubt them anymore, they’re the best in their league and also the best in the champions league being the defending champions. When they play, we always assume that they’ll win the match and no other team can stand them. Luck also plays its role in football but luck still comes to those who try and try to put some effort into winning that’s the only way luck will work for them. Smaller teams are less lucky because efforts they put are minimal and they lack that experience unlike the big teams.

I agree with you, that there is a luck in the competition but if any team fail to display quality performance from the beginning of the competition to position in a good position, I think it will be difficult for such team to experience the luck from the competition, because it go along with the team experience. That is what is still going to happen in this season, because the smaller teams are not ready to purchase some new players to boost their performance which it will be difficult for them to experience the luck in this season again.

In other words, luck will tend to favor those who have more complete attributes, both in terms of squad depth, experience and mentality. However, we also believe that football is not limited to complete attributes alone, where luck can sometimes favor any team beyond prediction. Inter Milan and Dortmund are two teams that have made it to the final round in the last two seasons, at the same time there are a number of teams that have more complete attributes, we can say they have luck, I think they are relevant examples in this case.

Real Madrid with its ideal squad is the team that is most favored to win the Champions League trophy next season, followed by Manchester City. It seems that many bettors will think the same in this case, but we must leave room for surprises that can come from other dark horse teams. With the Champions League format that has changed, of course the map of competition and everything in it has changed, although we realize that the two teams above are still the main strengths. Actually, it is still too early to assess the strengths and opportunities of each team, although we can see these two things at a glance before the competition starts.

We can not tell who will emerge as the Champions League winner this time around, but odds keep resting on Manchester City with Madrid being the strongest opposer. Just as other leagues are kicking off we get to see more from various teams, on how they perform then can we grade their chances accordingly. Madrid are definitely going to loose some of their games, it might be that team less likely the favourite to defeat Madrid, football has been a game of professionalism and luck involved.

Manchester City is of course always a favorite, but I have to say that it is all about Real Madrid I guess. The team is brutal now that they also have Mbappe. The game against Atalanta wasn't a top performance, but I think it is quite likely that they will only get better with every single game into the season. Rodrygo, Mbappe and Vinicius Junior as the frontline is insane and they still have Bellingham backing that trio from the midfield. So many players who pose a threat to their opponents. The only real loss they have to cope with is Kroos, but other than that their team is once again brutal.

Curious to see how Haaland will be doing this Champions League season. He was having quite a lot of trouble in the top games as the other teams knew pretty well how to neutralize him. It seemed as if he was far too predictable and couldn't deliver enough surprise moments. He was quite dead in the water often times, which I think should be addressed somehow.

What I am surprised at is why Manchester City is the number one according to the bookmakers because to me, I see Real Madrid having a better advantage of winning UCL that Manchester city and I do3need anyone to tell me that.

However, I believe that no one is perfect and as time passes by the odds will be changing na sed on the performance of the clubs. I think it will be another victorious season for Madrid because of the superb squad in their team, it will be difficult for any club to win them.
Just think of it as a trap. Lol
Real Madrid is indeed better than Manchester City, but Real Madrid is not always expected to win the Champions League title. It could be so that people don't say the Champions League is boring because of Real Madrid's dominance in winning the title, so bookmakers will consider Manchester City as favorites for other reasons.

I'm not saying Manchester City is the first favorite, but City deserves to be favorite because of the depth of its squad. They have a good coach like Real Madrid, but Madrid is built on good confidence in this competition. The strong mentality that the players have is something that other teams, including Manchester City, don't have, that's one of the reasons that makes Real Madrid difficult to beat.

City - 3.25

The Champions League is still very far away, but currently there are many predictions that favor a team as champions next season, but the funny thing is that the existing predictions often make us shake our heads at this time, I think the predictions put forward by many parties are not valid without  consideration and also an accurate reference for now, to be honest, it seems like they haven't learned from what happened last season when many parties favored Manchester City to win, but instead they had to stop their journey early in the Champions League.
Seeing the predictions mentioned above made me laugh and I don't know what the reason is that Manchester City is more worthy of winning the Champions League after seeing Madrid have perfect squad at the moment, Apart from that, I don't think Arsenal is better than Bayern Munich or even PSG at the moment.

In addition to all the other things you have already mentioned it is worth noting that this season the format of the Champions League is different, people have not seen it yet, teams should adapt to the new format, maybe many decent teams even. won't make it to the 1/8, who knows... The coefficients were most likely calculated on the basis of trivial probability theory, and the variables that were calculated were taken from the results of previous years, that's all.
