Manchester City is now in 22nd place in the Champions League points table. The team in the top 8 will qualify directly for the next round. And the team in the top 24 will play the playoffs. It is not possible for Manchester City to be in the top 8 of the table. And it is not possible to qualify directly for the next round. So Manchester City's target now is to qualify for the playoffs from the top 24 of the table.
Being in the top 24 of the points table is also a big challenge for Manchester City. For this, Manchester City must earn points against PSG. If they cannot earn points against PSG and Brugge, there is no possibility of Manchester City being in the top 24 of the table.
Guardiola will definitely give his full effort to win the next two matches of the Champions League. I am looking forward to seeing the fight between Luis Enrique and Guardiola.
If this game had been held last month I can categorically say that Manchester city will have been out because they were literally losing to every opponent they come up against, but as things stands now I can say that they will most likely scoff out a win in either of this game to get to play offs, the game against PSG will be a make or break for them because both clubs need that win to go to the next round but should Manchester city lose then the Club Brugge game will be very tense one.
Club Brugge seems to be the underrated here but they have been upsetting big clubs this season and it is definitely going to be a tough encounter with the premier league champions this should be Pep biggest game of the season just to save his face from early elimination which has never happened to him before in his career
He is seriously facing two devastating outcomes this season if he failed to make it to the next round in the Champions League. He could be missing out on the qualification in the Premier League as it stands now. It is not very likely, but if they have another round of a losing streak, nobody knows whether they'll be lucky enough to qualify regardless.
It is in a razor's edge so far and since they haven't managed to turn the tables all the time when they had two losses, three losses, four losses and everyone thought this must be the last game lost, then I think the worst could become the most probable result.
As much I couldn't imagine that they will get to this point, as much I can't imagine that they'll really fail in the first round now. The one ace up their sleeves is that they play at home against Brugge. Otherwise I'd agree with you that Brugge would have been tough, but I don't think Brugge can do what Feyenoord did to them. I know that nothing is guaranteed as Manchester City has changed a lot this season, but no I can't think of a loss against Brugge when they play at home.
