I don't think it has much of an impact on big teams with the new Champions League format. Big teams with the new format that has been agreed upon, of course they have prepared everything carefully.
Regarding the best performance is an obligation demanded by every team that wants to win the title, without thinking twice I agree about it.
Imagine a team as big as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, PSG is not ready to face the new format, of course that is impossible.
Generally it's not be heard or taught of that Manchester city and the rest of other big teams will not be ready or are still not sure about their stans in the preparations for the champions league games, one thing I observe about this new form , tho it hasn't kicked off yet but I'm of the believe it's still going to stress them in a way but since they are prepared they can cope.

I also don't think that the big teams are not ready for the new format in the Champions League, in fact they are the ones who are actually much more prepared to face it because big teams always move to find solutions from the start when there is something new that they have to face in a different season. And of all the teams you mentioned, I think they are quite ready to go through their season in the domestic league and also in the Champions League because these teams are still handled by coaches who have good experience in big competitions including the Champions League.

I honestly don't like this format that they have chosen for this year and in my opinion they did it to have more matches available therefore more broadcasting rights and therefore more money but it must be said that for the smaller teams there will be more possibilities of reach other levels

History is not something new to Real Madrid because they are use to making history. They made history this past season by winning UCL 15 times and they have also won UCL back to back, meaning Real Madrid is history themselves.

The team has a wonderful combination of world class players which are still young and desperate to create records for themselves. The old players in terms of age in Real Madrid are leaving gradually and soon the squad will be of young and vibrant players which will serve the club for a long period of time before they will leave.
History is what they do, if it were the case that all the Champions League trophies they won were long before the present, we might be talking about this team's past history. But when they embark on a new season, that's where they succeed and that's where they make history. Real Madrid alone have won 15 Champions League titles, while all other teams' UCL titles combined may not equal 15 Champions League titles. They have done this in the past, they are doing this consistently now and I believe they will continue to improve in the future.

If we only talk about next season's Champions League, I can't put any other team ahead of Real Madrid as they are expected to win their 16th UCL title with the proportion of the team they have formed.
Real Madrid is a fairly consistent club from the past until now they have created their own history as the best club in the world and won many domestic trophies and also international trophies so they are no longer in doubt if in the end they will win the Champions League trophy for the 16th time because they have the best squad at the moment with a strong mentality especially with the arrival of Mbappe will make this club more confident to do everything with their current coach Carlo Anceloti.
I no longer see Manchester City or Bayern Munich as challengers for Real Madrid next season even though these clubs have always been strong candidates in the UCL for years but for Real Madrid I have full hope for this club.
There is no denying Real Madrid's history. We all know that they are the best team in the Champions League. We still need to watch out for Manchester City. Pep has a plan, and Haaland is part of it. That is the way to get things done. Yes, Mbappé going to Madrid is a big deal. But City isnt just about famous people. They have a plan, a team, and they've won everything before. Because Real got a new toy, you can' just forget about them. Anything can happen in football. Glory from the past doesnt win games these days. The City team is ready, hungry, and ready to win that title. If you think they're not good enough, you will be sorry.

The new format of the UEFA Champions League is definitely going to affect the big teams but even in the face of chaos, I still expect the bigger teams to dominate the competition like they've been doing over the years. A careful study of the competition will tell you that it's always be won by the best performing teams in each of the seasons so even if we're going to have a new winner, i think it's going to be one of the best teams in in the competition in recent years. Personally, I think Real Madrid stands a better chance of winning the European Cup next season ahead of others.

Leverkusen is not as strong as last season, seeing them humiliated by Arsenal in a friendly match proves that Xabi Alonso's concoction can be predicted by other coaches, proving that we should not look too much at last season, there must be a difference in play and a decline in performance, this will affect them in the Bundesliga and will be an opportunity for Bayern Munich,
in this case Xabi Alonso must immediately improve the mentality of his players, instill high confidence so that his team becomes solid and consistent again

I don't really favor this team in the UEFA Champions League, but I want to see if Leverkusen will be the difference and surprise us all. that is the answer that Leverkusen must prove and I look forward to it.
It just a friendly match so don't take it seriously because i am sure Xabi Alonso have already to analyzed and evaluate this loses and during this summer actually Leverkusen didn't lost their key players because according to their transfer lists some of the players who leave is not Leverkusen main players so after seeing these conditions i think Leverkusen is still same just like last season because they are still solid

Leverkusen friendlies matches indeed don't run well because they were humiliated by Arsenal and draw against 3rd division team Rot-Weiss Essen but don't mean they will be automatically very weak next season because champion league even hasn't starting yet so i think people shouldn't be underestimate them

Last season before beated by Atalanta in Europa League Leverkusen is very superiour and next season they will playing at champion league with new format and obviously they will fight against strong teams in this competition so this is the real test for Leverkusen consistency whether they can able to advances to next round or not

It is still very doubtful that Bayern Leverkusen will become a big club as the strongest competitor in the Champions League. They performed well in the Bundesliga, but there is no guarantee that next season they will return to playing consistently and remain as champions in the Bundesliga. Especially if we talk about competition in the Champions League which is much more competitive and Man City, which is considered strong, could lose the opportunity to qualify for the semifinals and conversely the team that is not seeded will succeed in advancing to the final.

Even though we cannot underestimate Bayern Leverkusen's ability, if we look at the quality of players and experience, I agree that they will have a very difficult time getting to the quarter-finals or semi-finals next season in the Champions League. The competition in the Champions League is much tougher because there are many strong teams from various representatives and maybe it is not yet time for Xabi Alonso's men to go far there.
Bayern Leverkusen have signed any top qualities players for participating in UEFA Champion League and I don't sure they will face for the first participants after absent last two consecutives season. Xabi Alonso have showed his tactician last season when Bayern Leverkusen success get unbeaten in domestic league and impressive performance only one loss at UEFA Europe League final match against Atalanta. The management of Bayern Leverkusen have prepare with solid team and fully support for Xabi Alonso signed any top players for anticipating busy schedule matches next season in Champion League and domestic league.

New format seems more helpful for Bayern Leverkusen because league format get easily than old format each group filled by four teams and only qualified two top standings team each group. I don't think difficult for Bayern Leverkusen secure the top sixth standings in UEFA Champion  League new format get qualified to knock out round.

Leverkusen's main strength is that they have a talented coach like Xabi Alonso. With the help of Alonso, we saw such great performances from Leverkusen last season. The Leverkusen squad was not very strong last season. Even then, the bonding between the players was very strong. Due to the good chemistry between the players, the Leverkusen team was able to remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga last season. Also the players were very confident.

It will be difficult for Leverkusen to perform well next season. But since Leverkusen has a coach as talented as Alonso. So we can expect a better performance from Leverkusen. But Leverkusen's players need to work harder. Leverkusen's players are quite talented. If the players are confident and work hard, they can do well in the next season as well.

The new format will make the Championship league much more exciting. It will really be like a league in this format and even 1 point will be vital for the teams. I liked this new format but yes, the small teams had a chance to get out of the groups of four but the chances are quite low in the matches that will be played in a league system. Still, it is certain that we will see enjoyable matches. I am excitedly waiting for the new format
You may think it will be exciting, but other people think it is less of interesting. Yes, the first phase is league phase, I think it is actually not so different with a group stage. But too many teams in league phase makes it to have more matches, I personally think this is not good for the players. Every team will have less time to prepare their players, I think it will make many players to play not in their best condition. Sure, this will be a challenge for every team, but it won't be good for the players' condition. I suspect there will be more players to experience injury with a very busy agenda in UCL matches.

What distinguishes it now from the previous format is only the appearance and number of matches, because previously the participating clubs were put into several containers (groups) but now they are all united in one place even though not all meet each other and the other difference is only the number of matches is much more than before. Apart from that, everything remains the same where they have to compete in 2 legs and must try their best to qualify for the last 16.

Interesting and not all depends on comfort but I personally actually like this new rule if UEFA provides an event that is not too close to other competitions. currently there are many matches that we will see of course this is very good but on the other hand I hope the organizers do not force it too much with a tight schedule because the important competition is not only the Champions League.

I was hoping you were going to say that Bayern Leverkusen are going to be the next big club that will be a strong competitor in the UCL this season. They had a good performance in the Bundesliga doesn't mean that they will be able to win the UCL. I watched their performance against Arsenal in the friendly games and I noticed that they are not as strong as they were last season. And if they remain like this i won't be surprised that Bayern Munich will seize the opportunity to win the Bundesliga.

I am welcoming Bayern Leverkusen to the UCL. And i am promising that they won't make it to the semi-final or quarter-final of the tournament. At least having the experience and qualifying to the UCL is worth it.

From all your statements I agree but for your opinion on the last few lines I strongly disagree if you say Manchester City is no longer a strong contender in the UCL.
Now you have to look deeper whether Man City made many changes?
No, that was not done by Pep Guardiola because the club currently has great players and you also have to remember that Haaland is still a reliable player and is able to compete with Mbappe who is very much relied on by Real Madrid.
After that you also have to see how the Man City players managed to win the UCL title with the same players as today and that means it is still a contender that will make it difficult for Real Madrid in the champions league later.

There have been some seasons that Real Madrid have performed poorly in La Liga and finished second and third in the points table but won the Champions League. What could be the reason behind Real Madrid doing so well in the Champions League is still a mystery. It is doubtful whether any other club will be so successful in the future. Real Madrid has been consistent so far and they are one of the favorites in the upcoming Champions League season as well and if nothing untoward happens then Real Madrid are most likely to win the title next season. Betting on Real Madrid in Champions League matches is always less risky for your money as most of the matches tend to go in favor of Real Madrid.

Why did you exempt Bayer Leverkusen, Inter Milan, and Arsenal; are they not capable enough or they don't have good squad to be among the title challenge next season? I forget to add Barcelona as well.
Underrating these teams is not proper because we have seen how they performed well last season especially Arsenal and Leverkusen who did well in their respective domestic leagues.

These teams can give us some surprising performances in the Champions League next season.

I agree about only Leverkusen and Inter. Especially if Leverkusen maintain their performance this season also, they are a surprise candidate for the trophy I think.  Cool  For Inter, I can say they were wonderful in the Serie A last season. A smooth performance. You would remember they were a finalist in the Champions League 2 seasons ago too. They can also be unpredictable.

But for Arsenal and Barcelona, I don't think so. Arsenal are stumbling here because of focusing mainly on winning a PL title. We saw it last season. When it comes to Barcelona, I think they have less chance considering their situation lately.  Sad
Arsenal is out of the game among those clubs that can surprise us in the Champions League because they don't always go far in this league from onset and that is why I am ruling them out. Barcelona can try their best but their squad is not very strong for one to put hope on them.

Leverkusen did excellently in their domestic league does not mean that they will be able to win UCL when last season that they were in their best performance, they were unable to win Atalanta in Europa finals. This is why I doubt whatever magic that they will do, champions league is not for clubs that came from Europa.

This is why I doubt whatever magic that they will do, champions league is not for clubs that came from Europa.
A difficulty that has been maintained by Arsenal is only consistent that is always unstable and has ambitions pursuing domestic and UCL titles that make Arsenal squad inconsistent. From this we know that as long as Arsenal have not been able to maintain its consistency and are still too ambition with his desires, I am sure Arsenal will have difficulties in any competition. Arteta should not have to pursue a certain title but prioritizes one of the competitions to provide experience and mentality to the players to be ready to face all the difficulties at UCL.

And for Leverkusen, I fully support your opinion if indeed Leverkusen has not yet had a brilliant experience in prestigious competition and it will never succeed when competing here. While Leverkusen for me can be said to be a lucky team last season. A miracle if Leverkusen is able to compete at UCL to reach the final round.
Arteta must set priorities very well next season, because it is difficult to maintain stable performance in every competition, the Premier League should be more prioritized to win. We know the Premier League is very competitive, but the Champions League is much more competitive than imagined. It is understandable if Arsenal must first gather more mentality at the domestic level by winning trophies, so that they can talk a lot in the Champions League later. I think PSG are more experienced than Arsenal in the last decade, so Arteta must be more realistic.

On the other hand, Leverkusen journey in the Champions League next season seems steeper than Arsenal, because as we know they have less experience. Their unbeaten record last season is indeed worthy of appreciation, but it is not certain that it can be repeated in the future. There are so many challenges to be had in the Champions League, which is clearly very different from the Europa League. However, the opportunity to create a surprise is very open, and who knows Leverkusen can continue the miracle like last season.

The new system in the CL was introduced to be able to broadcast more games and I'm not so sure it will be as great as in the past. I'm trying to give the new CL a chance this year, but I'm afraid I'll miss the old version. The battle between 4 teams in the respective groups was very exciting, can the new "group" replace that?
There is no doubt, we will all miss the previous version of the Champions League style because we are all well familiar with how it goes but we have to monitor this new version to get used to it, as such; predicting the entire competition will be difficult because we can never tell how the grouping will be and how almost all team’s elimination will looks like.

The new method will not guarantee any team a Europa League chance, and there should not be home and away matches as it used to be which I think will make it very competitive because no serious team will afford losing match twice in the tournament and draws will be  an important result for most teams because of points.

I can’t wait to see how the new Champions League version will be, but many teams will have chance to compete hard to see if they can win the title.

The fact remains that this new pattern is going to avail all team s more chances to get it right even if they had started off badly because the timing is going to be much longer than the old format and then it's promises to be really fun filled and not like it's going to bore people due to the extended time, every point  is going to mean a whole lot to everyone because if neglected, others have got enough time to make up for the lapsis of the timing. Just like always, the champions league will be an enjoyable one.
It depends on the performance they will show and the division of opponents they will face in the league phase.
Although the group format is replaced with a league format, each club's matches are only 5 matches with the same pattern home and away. So in this case the performance becomes a condition that is indeed an initial benchmark if they want to qualify for the next phase.

Certainly for the top 8 clubs are some big clubs but it does not rule out the possibility if there is a surprise later. The most important thing now is how they are ready to do the Champiosn League competition with the new format because after all, with the addition of the current match, it is certain that this will make the club (especially the big clubs) even busier with the rotation of players carried out later.
