It was really great Supercup final to watch - quality football and some drama is something what we wanted. Before game I understimated Chelsea too much, but I was wrong. Tonight they played very well. It was equal match more or less and nothing strange that penalties were needed to decide who will win. Congrats to Liverpool supporters with first trophy this season.

@LTU_btc Chelsea has surprised me by their performance in this match, after the thrashing they received at the hands of Manchester United I never expected them to play so well and take the game into penalties. Lampard is making good progress and if only he was able to buy one or two players the result of this match would have been different. Congratulations to Liverpool on winning it, but even Klopp will know his side got lucky and they need to improve if they want to win more trophies.

Lampard make some good calls yesterday and he had a strategy that was perfectly designed.
I don't know... May they were lucky yesterday or they just had a bad day in Manchester, who knows... I hope they will keep performing good because we need competition both in Champions league and EPL.

Good game, I’ve enjoyed it. Going to extra time now, should be fun to watch. I think it’s been really close, no team has been better than the other which I guess is reflected in the scoreline.

I agree that this match is very interesting to watch at the end of extra time. I don't think there is a gap between the two teams, I really enjoy every attack created by both teams. With the entry of Origi, it usually makes a surprise at the end.

7 minutes left in the second half of normal time.
Scores while Liverpool [1] - [1] Chelsea.
So far the two teams have been attacking each other and this is really very interesting to watch until the second half is over. Certainly both teams have their supporters here.

Im going to take a small chance on this prop seeing I think The Reds win the Cup.

Found this quite fascinating to say the least:
Stephanie Frappart will make history when she becomes the first female official to take charge of a major Uefa men's competition showpiece

Ngolo Kante, Giroud and Pulisic all make the starting lineup for Chelsea, and No Roberto Firminho, Adrian is starting in goal for Liverpool, as the lineups for the Uefa Super Cup is released.

@toma sounds like a good parlay but only if at least 6/1... I would go for Cluj and Bruges parlay... But always closer to the games first to see odds!
Yeah, i'm gonna wait until next week to go for it. I might include Cluj to make it a bit more interesting, but idk, I just discovered this team yesterday lol

And Celtic, a well-known club in Europe with a lot of history in the football world, just got KO'd by Cluj, a low-tier club from Romania...CFR Cluj...This is beyond embarrassing for Celtic  Lips sealed

IMO, level of Scottish football is shit and it's not much better than Romanian, so it's probably not that huge sensation that they got kicked out. The main problem for Celtic that they just don't have many serious oppopents in SPFL, same like PSG in France, and it affect their results in UEFA cups.
Yeah, scottish football is overrated, take Celtic vs Rangers and no one would be interested in watching the SFL, but still, I rate it higher than the romanian league.

@buwaytress, I don't believe that current Chelsea can beat Liverpool. Well, Istanbul is historic city for Liverpool, remember that epic final in 2005 against Milan.

Perhaps, another massacre is about to unfold.

Can Chelsea contain this Liverpool squad, maybe a miracle will be need.

I'm looking at taking Liverpool to win @ Halftime for 2.1 odds

It looks like to many easy games for the big teams of this stage of Europa League however I would be cautious and bet only on who will qualify rather than playing money line bets. The reason is that I think teams like AIK or any other team who have won the first game away from home can play quiet and may be happy with a draw tonight which would qualify them anyway.

Anyone actually backing Chelski tonight for a Europa winner to beat a Champs League winner? I am so making sure I have the tv all to myself for another Reds trophy =p

I hope that Chelsea is going to win this Super Cup trophy.
Personally, I admire and respect Frank Lampard at most. I think that he didn't deserve such a bad start in his favorite team's bench.
This game will be the time to prove that he does great work at the club.

Well, some of these upsets were some how predictable, I kean I did bet on Cluj before but anyway so happy to see Mignolet contribute already so quickly haha although I don't know if letting in 3 goals was really a good contribution haha!

Last night matches got some surprises I must say to mentioned above. It more and more from every single season so far that we will see some club beat obvious favorite and win or pass in next stage. However this is becoming something that is normal and it will be every new season, from my point of view this is interesting.

@LTU_btc: For penalties in Copenhagen Red Star game I watched 5-6 years ago African Cup of Nations semis I thing, in the end it was decided in 16 round of penalties.

I think it's normal that at the beginning many clubs experience difficulties because many new players,  no time to prepare team etc.
Personally I enjoyed match between Ferencvaros and Dinamo tonight.
Great victory for Dinamo and really can't understand how is possible that Dinamo didn't beat them already in Zagreb 😁

Come on Ajax. Put $100 on them. Hope they will also this years surprise in the CL. :-p
2-1 ; )
Went for Ajax as well. Nuts to see that they didnt manage to make any goal after the first one with the truckload of chances they had and a missed penalty. Lets see how they hold out the final 10 minutes.

And another penalty. ;-) all is fine again. Let's see what the next round brings

I am so sad to see a team like Ajax, need 3 penalties to qualify from a newbie team.
This is not the way it should. But, apparently UEFA wanted more Ajax to proceed than PAOK. Ajax is more profitable club and can bring more money to the UEFA from TV broadcasting etc.
I hope van der Beek to get transferred to another club. Ajax doesn't seem to play good football this season.

Anyways, play-off round:

(source)

I'm thinking maybe a parlay with 'Ajax-Olympiacos-Slavia Prague' all to win in the 1st leg. Any thoughts?

Some many twists and turns today, Lol! I wonder how tensed fans of these teams would have felt today, Ajax turned the tie on its head, and were able to qualify for the CL play offs, Celtic despite taking 2 - 1 and 3 - 2 lead still lost the game to Cluj, Porto left it a little too late by going 3 - 0 behind in the first half but they did fought back and were within 1 goal of equalizing which could have seen them advance too. Now to what I consider the craziest match of the night Copenhagen vs Red Star Belgrade, imagine your team and an opponent playing 11 penalties each scoring and as well losing after each other.

EDIT: LTU_Btc beat me to it 😏

Wow, what crazy gameday with so many goals scored
Dynamo Kyiv 3:3 Brugge. 2 red cards and 2 goals scored on injury time. Brugge goes further.
Porto 2:3 Krasnodar. Probably biggest sensation tonight. 2 early goals of Krasnodar send Porto to knockout.
Ajax 2:3 PAOK. Just a great match. Ajax dominated, but it was very tough game for them.
LASK 3:1 Basel. Another sensational win of LASK which eliminated Basel.
Copenhagen 1:1 Crvena Zvezda and after penalty shootout Zvezda goes to the playoff stage. Probably it was longest penalty shootout I ever saw.
Celtic 3:4 Cluj. Another crazy game. Celtic had posession and more shots but level of their game isn't enough to beat Cluj. Cluj deserved to go further.
Wow, and main competition didn't even started yet.
