Real Madrid had a very poor performance generally but they still used their chances in a very effective way. They did the best thing they do always. They scored the goal by a very quick counter-attack. This was the thing I was hoping for to happen because it would make the game more enjoyable. I was expecting to see Liverpool playing their usual dominant game after that goal in the end. I'm afraid Liverpool weren't that much impressive still. They had some important chances and Courtois didn't let them score. Congratulations to Real Madrid and their fans!

I think, it was a surprised victory to many people, because the first half performance showed that Liverpool has a good performance than Real Madrid that made many people to concluded that Liverpool will defeat Real Madrid but the game later changed for the favour of Real Madrid. Liverpool defenders allowed Real Madrid strikers to embraced one goal that brought them victory at the end of the match. Real Madrid used their opportunity well compared to Liverpool strikers that missed so many opportunities in both the first half and the second half.

The only thing I think surprised most people is the fact that Liverpool couldn't register a goal after all their numerous goal attempts, Liverpool performed well in both half having almost 8 shots on goal but Real Madrid keeper Courtois saved all the good shots that would have resulted to goals, Madrid defenders did a great job too because they were fast and accurate in clearing balls coming towards there goal post. And Madrid played more with experience having scored a goal that was ruled as offside by VAR in the first half, they still fired another strike that lead to the only goal by Vinicous Junior,  Madrid was tactically better than Liverpool.

In the final Real Madrid just waited and played very carefully, it can be seen from the statistics they made. They only created 2 shots on target, one of which became a goal. It might not be so bad to see them win the match but of course it's hard to believe that Liverpool managed to put Real Madrid under pressure until the end of the match.

Anceloti is aware his players are not strong enough to play too openly. Many of Madrid's senior players are over 30 years old and that is very different from Liverpool. Indeed Madrid's game was very lost to Liverpool. The game was exactly the same against Chelsea and Man City, madrid did not dominate much but they were effective in counterattacks and finishing finishes. During the final Thibaut also had a very crucial role, otherwise he made Save 9 times. Chelsea should have felt a sense of loss by releasing it to Madrid. He is still 30 years old he still has quite a long time if he performs stable with Madrid.

Football is not only a lot of possession of the ball and a lot of attacks, but what determines victory is the team that is able to score goals.
Real Madrid don't attack and attack a lot but they play very strategically, their defense and also their counter-attack, Real Madrid don't play badly, but this is part of their strategy to win the game.
Real Madrid have beaten 3 big teams to reach the final, and many still say it's luck? I don't think so, Real Madrid is the best team right now on the blue continent. they deserve all of this.

Liverpool played better football this year, I wish they were champions. But Real Madrid's goalkeeper played with a very good performance. Courtois was the most important and critical player in winning this match Smiley
It doesn't matter how many positions you have or how many shots you take, the important thing is to score. Liverpool failed to score and therefore did not become champions.

Statistical data doesn't make any sense, even for the final match. Even if you shoot 100 shots, it doesn't matter if you can't score. We saw that in this final match as well.  Real Madrid scored with few chances and protected it with good defense. They became champions because they were able to keep the score, it's that simple.
Statistics are just statistics, because in football the most productive team will be the winner. Real Madrid is a team that plays effective and productive football. They didn't have too many chances but they also didn't waste chances if they got them. One goal was enough to make Liverpool go home disappointed.
The final result or score is more important than statistics, Liverpool has all the statistics in the match took all the possessions, shot on goal, off target, corners, fouls etc however all these don't count with the final score, Real Madrid won the match, there are some matches which involves playing badly and win than to play excellently well and lose, Real Madrid defended well and converted their few goals scoring chances, unfortunately Liverpool all goals scoring chances was saved by Courtois who was very brilliant, oustanding and was capped as the man of the match.
All undeniable, statistics show Liverpool are more dominant, but Real Madrid won the game.  Carlo Ancelotti is a very experienced coach, he knows what to do to achieve his goals.  For example, let's look at the semi-final 2nd leg match against Manchester City, when they fell behind and normal time was running out, Don Carlo made an unpopular rotation of players, within minutes he pulled out their three best midfielders simultaneously and very quickly.  dared to enter inexperienced players, Rodrygo, Camavinga and Asensio, everyone highly doubted this decision, but Ancelotti's decision proved to be right, Rodrygo managed to score 2 goals and forced the match to be continued into Extra time and Benzema managed to score a goal through the penalty spot and led Los  Blancos to the Finals.

Liverpool played very well in the first half and in the second half, but Real Madrid played very patiently to defend against Liverpool's dangerous attacks, Courtois' best performance in this match could make Madrid's players more confident, it was proven in the second half Madrid can score one goal. The winning goal was well combined and finished by Vinicius Junior, and the best player award goes to Thibaut Courtois.

Not just the first half. Liverpool played well in the whole match. They have attacked a lot. They took 24 attempts and 9 on-target shots. Real Madrid did only two. The performance of Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois is certainly commendable. He is playing very well, and he made many great saves. Although Vinicius scored the only goal of the match. However, I would say that Courtois played a key role in Real Madrid's victory in this match.

What simoene said is indeed in accordance with the facts, because so far when madrid has been in the final whoever the opponent is it is certain that madrid will be able to win the trophy, even though when madrid maybe slumped in the league but for some reason when they are in the final they seem to have a strong motivation big to be able to win, from 1956 to 2022 madrid has made it 17 times into the final and only 3 times they failed to championship and that clearly makes madrid deserve to be called the king of the champions league
Of course, everyone already knows that Real Madrid is the best team in the Champions League with 17 finals included this season. All the other teams he played against in the final were challengers and it's only natural that his challengers would have a very hard time winning the final based on the facts.

It seems true that one can safely say that Real Madrid's win ratio in the Champions League final is very close to perfect. They have failed only 3 times out of 17 finals, meaning Madrid have secured 14 titles so far.
There is nothing that compares to the 14 trophies that have now been obtained, and Real Madrid have won the UCL 3 times in a row with Zidane so I admit Real Madrid are the kings of the UCL which many people say that by being in the final they become fierce to win the title.
The record continues to be won and Real Madrid is a great experience being in the UCL no doubt about it even though in the final yesterday I chose Liverpool but Madrid have great motivation and that's a fact that happened.
Real Madrid is one of the best club on the planet and the lords of the UCL. They have a great experience to win the title, up until this point Courtois were right as said RM play for bringing home the championship. But, I'm worried that couple of players will leave the club. Marcelo, Isco are heavy weight name. They're without any doubt going to be missed. Marcelo one of the greatest left back of this generation, such players can inspiration to upcoming lads.

I read somewhere that Spanish clubs have played in 17 Champions League/Europa League finals against foreign opposition in the last 20 years, winning ALL of them.
It sounded so insane that I went to check and if I did not make a mistake checking - it turns out to be true.
Their last losses in European finals were in 2001, when Liverpool won against Alaves in Uefa Cup and Bayern won against Valencia in a CL final.
I haven't looked at the statistics for wins against clubs not from Spain, but in the last 20 years Spanish clubs have won 10 times, of which Real Madrid have won 6 times. In total Real Madrid have played in 17 Champions League finals 14 of which they have won. That is a crazy statistic. Real Madrid is the most titled club in Europe and the leader of the Champions League.

proven now Real madrid haven't lost in a final out of 8 occasions.

I agree with this statement. The Liverpool team is stronger than Real Madrid. I still think this. They also played better than Real Madrid in the final. But the champion is Real Madrid. Because the Real Madrid team is more experienced and they are tactical. Coach Carlo Ancelotti is very experienced. He knew that it was impossible to win against Liverpool if they played attacking tactics. And so he decided to play defensively. Real Madrid had several good counter-attacks. And finally won the match 1-0.
I also wanted Liverpool to win this fial but after watching the match I thought Real Madrid played much better and they had more chances. Liverpool probably even had one good chance when Sadio Mane failed to score. Of course, the main man of the match was Thibaut Courtois who kept Real Madrid from conceding a goal.

Liverpool players that were injured came back before the final, Liverpool were complete,my fear was that Thiago Alcantara Fabinho and Virgil Dirk will miss the game but all this leader's were back on time before the final.so Liverpool don't have any excuse and if am being honest they would have won if not for coutois,he denied Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane clear chances and provide one miracle save with his leg.what am impressed with real Madrid for is that they don't have Varane and Ramos again but still they hold the likes of Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City and Liverpool with no recognise world class defender, kudos to them.

Liverpool has prepared the team 100% for the final match, statistics show Liverpool are able to control the match. One Real Madrid goal in the second half made Liverpool's struggle even more difficult, until the match ended there was no additional goal from Real Madrid and a reply goal from Liverpool. Liverpool failed again in the UCL final, Liverpool's revenge mission did not go perfectly, in fact Jurgen Klopp team had to lose to Real Madrid thanks to a goal from Vinicius Junior.
The final is a game that is actually difficult to predict and we certainly know how the final match goes. I think Real Madrid just took chances on the counter-attack because they played pretty defensively. Very different from some previous Real Madrid matches whether in the round of 16, quarter-finals or semi-finals. The match between Manchester City and Real Madrid in the semifinals was much more interesting than the final, much more entertaining with goals and good play from both teams.

History repeated itself; Liverpool failed to savage the situation and they couldn't become the champion. One thing I realised to have made Madrid the champion again was the experience they've had, unlike Liverpool, they didn't create much chances but they put the little they had to use and it paid off. Liverpool suffered the same fate as Chelsea and Manchester City–creating plenty chances but failing to convert them. I went to the viewing center to support my England neighbor, hoping I could sing "you will never walk alone" at the end of the match, but I ended up singing "Hala Madrid" as Madrid deservedly took the great UCL Trophy home.

Most Manchester United fans are so happy with the loss of Liverpool. Liverpool has quadruple dream's but ended up winning only two.
Chelsea had some block's from hazard winning the champions league, I think a bit higher than what Liverpool won from both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup finals.
Liverpool did well this season, but couldn't outshine Real Madrid.
They missed the championships by very small margins in the Champions League and the Premier league. City became champions with a 1 point margin in the Premier League. Despite playing very well in the UCL final with Real Madrid, they lost.  In fact, we can say that they were unlucky. They deserved to be champions. They lost the last two finals without luck.  Anyway, they will continue to work to be better next year.

as I said, Real Madrid won
my assumptions were correct and although Liverpool were favorites on paper (much stronger) they were not mentally projected to win
He was tired
physically, mentally

while Real Madrid were well rested (thanks to the turnover) happy (Spanish league) and mentally ready to win

I should have listened to you. No idea what happened in the final, to me it seemed like a sure win for Liverpool. Looks like I need to be mir critical towards my predictions. Buy even the bookies looked at Liverpool as the clear favourite. I think none of my close friends who are into sports betting, bet on Real Madrid. And the score of 1-0 was so uneventful, I really expected overtime and to see many goals. I waa so wrong that game. Overall Champions league this year together with Europa league were really bad for me. Lost most of my betting budget and have to start from scratch again. Atleast there is still some time left until the Worldcup this year.

As Liverpool came out with 100% in good form, it was evident by the dominance of the game they showed. Even during the game Real Madrid are under pressure. But Real Madrid are disciplined in implementing the defensive strategy they run plus their goalkeeper is on fire. The rest of the goals from Real Madrid were created by the mistakes of Liverpool defenders who did not escort a Vinicius.
Small mistakes can kill everything, Liverpool's defense fails to stem the attacks of Real Madrid, Vinicius Junior can easily break into Liverpool's goal.
Liverpool had tried to give their best in the final, Real Madrid looked overwhelmed by the attacks launched by Liverpool players. A disciplined defense and supported by the good performances of Thibaut Courtois, all the efforts of the Liverpool players did not bear fruit. Ancelotti strategy was able to frustrate Jurgen Klopp's troops, until they failed to get the trophy that the Anfield public really wanted.
Arnold, who was closest to Vinicius' position at that time, failed to anticipate Vinicius' movement without the ball. The result is one goal created from the scheme. It looks like Arnold is the most disappointed player when the game has ended, yes it becomes natural when players feel guilty for the goals scored against them. But here too Vinicius is clever in finding a position so that he easily scores the ball into the net.
